Fryalynn I don't think you know what you are talking about. This is not the RSPCA we are talking about. This is the ASPCA based in NYC. Pets Alive offered to take her in and if she was not able to be rehabilitated they would give her a forever home at their facility, much like some of the Vick dogs at Best Friends. There would have been no liability to the ASPCA because she would have been signed over to Pets Alive. Please check your facts. We know what we are talking about.
And help the RSPCA so that they have more space to hold dogs. Hopefully to a point where they do take and KEEP animals that have major behavioural issues.
In addition to my previous post, yes I would've surrendered the dog to the organisation offering to take care and train Oreo BUT. You seem to forget the restrictions that have been put on adopting out Pits. If the RSPCA had handed him over, and he managed to bite anyone, then it would be blamed on the RSPCA. So the dog was a liability and a huge risk to the RSPCA itself.
For all those they are forced to put down, they do save many. Its up to all of you to go to shelters and adopt these animals.
I've seen the assessment video of Oreo and I have to say i'd come to the same conclusion as she did. What people tend to forget is that one simply cannot save them all. 60% of perfectly healthy (and behaved) dogs are put down in shelters because people simply dont adopt them. To keep Oreo would mean another occupied space, which could have been filled by a dog that has far better chances of being adopted out.
@babygirlbarbara400 OK I'm now extremely bored with you. Your useless comments will be deleted. Happy recovery and tell your drug addict aunt we'll be paying her a visit real soon.
@babygirlbarbara400 OMG your aunt is not only a puppy killer drug addict but she's a wanna be dog trainer who is afraid of dogs and masquerades as a behaviorist. Can't wait to demo her house again...
The sad fact is that either you are lying or you have been lied to by Victoria Wells. Anyone that would abuse a dog while working for an animal protection agency, would lie about having moved.
If they won't listen through emails and phone calls, and they won't listen when you protest their offices, then let your voices be heard on their doorsteps. Nice one!

Unlicensed and incompetent, this hot-topic "punk" has no business working with animals. Vickie Wells, resign resign resign - you're a fraud.
