  • prepare for lift off! lmao

  • Hello control tower, this is Dell-GX280 requesting permission for takeoff

  • i have its better solution you should change its processor paste its price is 1USD

  • Epical Dell Optiplex GX280 - Ready for Take Off!

  • Paspauskit fans, and sign in before should work properly stored. The problem is that the bad solder detachment pocesoriaus tray.

  • chipset fail XD

  • Bad capacitors on motherboard fix that same model that had that problem.

  • What odd looking electrical outlets you have at 0:52

    I've never seen those before

  • @MixerVM thay are european

  • Temperature sensor under CPU is going bad.. It read a high temperature of the CPU and prevent booting of the computer. To check this you need to take the computer box in cold refrigerator or in the winter outside for 1 hour. Than take in side and connect everything to the computer box and power it on. If it will power on no problem than that is a thermistor on board is bad.

  • I lol'ed at the description :D

  • u shudda heard mine lol

  • holy crap... I expected that fan put in 2nd gear... hahahha

  • god damn, it sounds like its going to literally take off out the window, hahaha

  • Had similar problem an hour ago. Swapped CPU with another one (found the previous had very dry, almost cracky thermal paste on the CPU), and worked fine. Guessing either a problem with the contacts (listed below) or that the CPU just died from heat exhaustion. I like the layout, though I've replaced more Caps on these than any other brand or model.

  • The real problem of the computer is:

    Dell. Plain and simple.

  • @omglolwtfmudkips Nah not really mate dells are pretty good, used to have 1. lasted me 8 good long years

  • Well, the pc still works after 2 weeks, and then I thought it was fucked. Even added some extra ram in the meantime. I think that, in my case, the problem is that some of the pins on the socket are not in contact with the cpu if it's not pressed. Avoid this model and build a custom rig if possible. It's not worth the trouble.

  • What a piece of SHIT, mine just started doing the same thing after sitting up for a few months. Dell needs to replace all of these defective machines. I hear they can start a fire !!! WOW . Sounds like a lot of fun.....

  • Sorry for the upside down post. Blame youtube.

  • If you have a smaller form factor gx280, put something like a piece of cork on the cpu fan close the cover and put a crt monitor on the pc. In my case it worked for like a day, so I had to put more stuff between the fan and the cover and use something like a provisional vise to hold the cover. I guess that pretty soon I will have to buy a new mobo anyway. Good luck, hope this will help somebody with the 'amber light, no boot' problem.

  • 4. Plug in the power cable. You should see control leds blinking.

    5. If they do not light up at all, unplug power cable, press the heatsink harder, repeat step 4.

    6. If you see blinking control leds you can boot your pc.

    7. .....

    8. Profit.

Don't be afraid of braking the mobo. I had to press REALLY hard until I was able to boot. If it eventually das boot(sorry, couldn't help myself), all you have to do is think of a way to make this permanent.

  • Ok people, I've got this problem solved for now and I'm not gonna be a dick like fergiobebe1 who posted earlier. So this is what you can do: (I do know it worked for a few gx280's SFF, mine included)

    1. Unplug all external cables.

    2. Remove the cpu fan (eventually it's gonna have to stay on the heatsink but you should remove it just for testing purposes).

    3. PRESS the cpu heatsink with your hand, using considerable strength.

  • @suckuranus Your CPU Socket needs to be reflowed. Overheating has caused solder no longer make contact on some pins.

  • I have the dell Optiplex GX280 my stock fan was noisey at high loads Bought a 80mm Led fan for like 8 bucks and cleaned the old one and used WD-40 into the fan bearing ..runs super quiet now ..i removed the "green fan case to add the custom fan beside the old one and twist ties ..I'm running a Nvida 9800GT 1gig video card, Overclocked. 1.5 GIG of ram dual channel 3-3-3-9 with 2 extra slots for more ram 40GIG Maxtor HD with a 250GIG Maxtor yet to be installed Works great for gamming still

  • That doesn't looks like it's the original Fan cooler.

  • LOL...

  • ya know what's funny? im on a GX260!

  • optiplexes make loud noises like that. only dimensions dont

  • @MultiYippee Except the Dim8400

  • i got the solution for this problem already, its easier than you think. i'll clue you in ... its the processor (im not saying its bad, its all working)...

  • -Can you please tell me if you can put 4 GB RAM in this computer and how to do it. I only have two places to put RAM cards and I'm wondering if I can put two cards of 2 GB DDR2 each. Can I also change the processor because I have one that is 2.8 GHZ. Thank you for your help.

  • :))) DeLL makes alienware, makes XPC

  • I think There is no cool pasta on the cpu

  • @12doty34 It is melted on the heatsink and is not the problem of this computer

  • Paspauskit fans, and sign in before should work properly stored. The problem is that the bad solder detachment pocesoriaus tray.

  • OMG i got the same pc

  • You guys talk shit about dell and hp, but you were retarded enough to buy one

  • forget what i said in th eprevious comment exactly the same happned to me and i need solutions quick im working on a big video!

  • 0:42 WTF!!

  • i had a fan doing that on a compaq i was working on and it was because the heatsink and heatsink fan were so clogged with dirt were talkin i/4 in thick when it was cleaned and new heatsink paste the fan was whisper quiet

  • thats kinda disconcerting, as i have a PC just like it.....

  • My school has those we thought one of them was gonna blow up and then the IT people said it was a faulty mobo

  • probablyy the ram if it isn't the capacitors

  • Dude! got the same issue!!! These things were defective! the capacitors is whats gone bad.

  • all u hAVE TO DO IS JUST LEAVE IT AND IT WILL STOP, THAT HAPPENS TO ALOT OF COMPUTERS

  • my dell does same thing

    exact same model and stuff

  • hey i have full tower optiplex gx280. what psu does it have? 305 watt? or 500watt?

  • I think its only 160 watts, I'm not entirely sure tho

  • more like 205

  • lol, fuck this dell, look aty my channel

  • Would a computer of that type be good for playing todays games? I'm lookin at one on eBay. Its a Dell Optiplex GX280 P4 HT 3.2GHz with 2 gigs of ram and a 500 gb hard drive. I am thinking of buying a nVidia GeForce 9400GT Pci-E Video Graphics Card for it as well. I'm more than likely going to be using the PC as a platform for my Flight simultaor setup that I want to put together.

  • I got exact same computer and specs besides i got a 8400gs not a 9400gt, but it sould run fine, unless its a seriously demanding game like gta4 i barely got it to run and it was on all minimum with occasional lag but imd dmc4 it full all max on 30fps

  • What about geeky games, like WoW? Like, big multiplayer games? Not that I play those or anything.... *cough cough*

  • Lol i wouldent know never played wow m8

it ran combat arms well and cod

  • The PC is alright. You can play old games to modern games. I have a Dell Optiplex GX280 SFF. Kind of the same specs as you mentioned but I have one gig of ram and a 80gb hard drive. I can play Doom 3, Halo 2, GTA San Andreas with it. But the only thing that will get you from getting a new video card is your Power Supply. If you buy the Mini tower GX280 you are good with a 305W PSU. And my video card is a ATI Radeon x300, with 128mb. Remember that this PC series was made in 2005.

  • yeah im gonna install a 200GB Maxtor HD and put vista on that sucker!

  • did you found the solution?

  • The motherboard was broken, i was given a new one from the one i bought it with

  • thank i bought 3 cases for 30 dollars one is doing this thing but they are such a pain in the ass special psu special cd drive

  • @mikenuun It is your capacitors I replaced mine and now I am not flying ddell airlines and it is now my gaming pc

  • yo their is a buuunch and i mean a load of these for sale on ebay! why so much? they seem like good comp. they just look lame?

  • alot of school systems used them in the [ast, when they upgrade to new computers, they usually try to get rid of old ones

  • that happened to me when i put a new graphics card in but i took it out and it worked perfectly again??

  • i have a strange problem my computer wont boot but i get this screen "intel(r) 915g/915gv/910gl pci accelerated svga bios

    Build number

    DECOMPILATION OR DISASSEMBLY PROHIBITED

My computer when ever i turn it on it goes to that screen keyboard doesnt work nothing does! i need help!

  • have you checked to see if there is a chasis intrusion switch? try taping that down, and looking for a cmos reset jumper or take out the cmos battery for a few seconds try around 20 seconds to be safe

  • I had that prob, the other day. It was the pin's for the socket 775 board. They were jacked up on the bottom of the board, nothing could fix it. Board is screwed when it happens. Check it out without ram if it beeps, then the boards bad. If it does'nt beep then its bad!!!

  • I mean if it beeps its good, My bad, lol.

  • hahaha.. i had the same problem too almost 4 times, but i just call the dell since my warranty last for 3 years... i think either your motherboard have burn out or your fan broken (inside)

  • I bought this off ebay,

I tried everything, and i also think the Motherboard died, anyhew the seller whas nice enough to ship a new one, with nu problems.

  • not really actually.. i call them so many times...

  • Hahaha wtf heb je met dat ding gedaan Nuun? XD

    This is Stanz0x :]
