@CycleDub No, but then I'm far less vulnerable and exposed, I'm far easier to see and I'm moving much faster. I'm not condoning road rage or improper use of the road by anyone. I will say though, I often find cyclists to be deeply inconsiderate (why do they ride to the front of the queue at a red light when they can see there is no room for the vehicles now behind them to overtake when the lights change? And why do so many ride straight through red lights?)

There are some shit people on bikes and shit people in cars and at times I expect I have been both. But the point is a bike dose not kill a car/van driver but the other way around its quite easy to end life.

Umm, err, I think you'll find I was on the roundabout long before the tanker. He pulled out in front of me. I can assure you, I was very lucky I managed to stop in time. Google Magnatom Blog and you'll find out more information.....the correct information.

The HGV driver was completely in the wrong. You're also observant. My point is:

- At 43s you look across, no sign of him.

- At 44s you look again and he appears, at speed.

- But then you look away and continue on for two or three seconds, seemingly at the same pace

- At 47s the idiot has indeed entered the roundabout and nearly runs you down

On a motorbike, I was trained that if you see something like that coming, don't take your eyes off it and slow down, defensive riding saves lives.

@sarahandkevin2009 That was a YouTube cyclist called Magnatom. It did go to court but the driver wasn't prosecuted due to 'lack of evidence'.

It didn't actually go to court. It didn't get that far. There wasn't any problem with the video evidence, it was a problem with the way the driver was interviewed (due to a Supreme court ruling that came after the interview). More information can be found on my blog. Google Magnatom to find it.
