some plants seem to look and grow better in a hydro system with growing media like ebb and flow or drippers. growing without growing media seems to make some plants grow not as good as systems that use plenty of growing media so roots have something to anchor in. there are pros and cons to not using growing media.
thats by far the easiest system i've seen over youtube,
but how will the roots reach the bottom water and won't die, i mean they don't get water drips in the rockwool right? then how did you test it and good resutls?
whats up man i was interested in that 8 chamber but is that a dwc cause i need one to grow 16 plants about 3feet i was hoping 4 a ebb and flow with one resovoir
hey i have a question i wanna do a deep water setup but im a little cloudy on some things.....when you first start the plants out should u put the netti pots in the water? and what do you do with the seedlings after they sprouted i wanna use the hydrocotons but kno u dont just put the sprouted seedlings in the hydrocotons
Generally you would want to start in cloning trays, then once rooted transfer to your DWC system. You want the water line right up to the bottom of the net pot until roots can reach down further. Also, you want to have the seedling/clone supported in rockwool cubes or something similar. If you have any other questions, or if you still need some help on the matter, feel free to drop me a line
I eat them on a daily basis sir and they are much better than tomatoes grown in soil. If you like soil better you must like the taste of animal waste right? lol i'm kidding but I'm honest. lol
if i wanted to plant a seed in rock wool, will it work even though it's starting from seed? and once the germinated seed is in the rock wool do you add any thing to the rock wool or dos it grow with out any thing, but a little green house?
all i got to say is i smoke weed on a daily basis mornin lunch and night and i frame houses makes the time pass by and dont really stress over to much jus get my job done
what ever the gentleman s problem is, in my case it is usually human error for things not working, break it down and start again, youll find the error. great vid, keep up the good work
hello cool i had try that i have no resolts in cuttings i have spent over $400.00 in aroponics cloner qand more i only want to get a susessfull roots in my tomato cuttings thank you
Dont listen to this fool, Its not casue your black or sound like whatever hes says hes just jelous that there are some of us intelligent ppl who care to know how things work in life, Thanks good vid keep it up.
TY:) but i have more questions i understand what how when and why to feed but hydro its a little different. ok i have foxfarm fertilizers 1 for veg and 1 for flower it has trace minerals in it and is for hydro and or soil aplications but is that all i need say if i mix it right and have my ph right is that enough to keep them happy? is a ppm or ec tester a must have or is there just a set amount time that you change your solution? it seems like alot of bs comes with growing hydroponicly lol
it depends if u use distilled water than there will be very little salt but if u use tap water than the ppm isnt certain and u would need to know how much nutes u can feed it so u dont increase the ppm too much i suggest just useing distilled water u wont have to replace, only place more water when the plants start lowering the water level themselves only its more expensive but less maintenance
if you pump goes out or your power goes off just drop your water level so some roots get air or if you expect to get your pump back working within 12 hours you can either empty the tank completely. I do it now just to see how long they can go without water. but think about it... that's what ebb and flow (or flood and drain) is all about. think about aeroponics... great question though keep'em coming
@brainwashedmc It's much better to have a drip system where the roots grow all the way down to the nutrient bath and have a bubbler to keep the nutrient bath aerated. This is the way the Gen Hydro Waterfarm works. Great units.
@TheWebdrifter there's nothin better about a drip system. i bet you won't think that if the water pump goes out and your entire garden dies. dwc is by far the best hands down
Hows the garden gonna die if theres still roots sitting in a bath of aerated water? Thats the way your system works with the roots in aerated water and no drip collar. Your basically saying that your type of system kills plants. I don't want to argue with you. I liked the video and the comment was not meant to bash anyone.
would you remove your scuba tank before you were anywhere near the surface? no. plants breath oxygen too.. if you don't get that, than you shouldn't be growing
so you dont have to be changing the water level if you have an air pump? so the roots would be submerged in water 24/7 and the air pump would have to be running 24/7 is that right?
hello there ,nice little "bubbler" , did u ever do the drip video, im growing in coco at the mo but its doin my head in handwateing them and having to get them out to do the one at the back and so on , i hate it, i was just thinking about a drip setup as ive got a submesabule pump but aint got the drip stakes or anythink any ideas to a cheap way ov doin this, also my plants are on ground level in pots so i need to watch for flooding, nice video anyways -
Thank you so much. It really means a lot to me, really. If you have any questions at all please feel free to give me a call anytime. I'd love to help in any way I can. whats the fuss about hydroponics
you can grow just as fire weed if not better as you can with water
johnnys141 1 year ago
How long can u veg in that setup? with all of those plants would the roots have enough room and not strangle each other?
daland216 1 year ago
@daland216 roots will never strangle each other. they will mingle and intertwine, but never with any damaging effects....

Ahh...won't using the clear plastic bottle allow algae to grow in there?

roots dont need lighting at all that would kill a plant.
fivestaur55 2 years ago 2
so can you make a drip system and aeroponics together. so you would have the drip for the top of the plant and the misters for the roots?
brainwashedmc 2 years ago
@brainwashedmc i wouldn't waste the time doing all that.

Why do you need a water pump? the plant roots is already in the water. If the roots are in constant water couldn't the plant drown?

the pump is for pumping bubbles which gives it oxygen
