The soldiers involved have been convicted. Chinese soldier's atrocities go unnoticed. If China had committed the same crime it will never be brought to justice. Kidnap and Incarcerating a 6 yr old boy is unjustifiable. What if he has been killed. At least under American occupation the 6 yr old boy would be safe.

No, actually the Tibet flag was designed by the imperial Chinese Qing government as the flag of the Tibetan army, which was formed in 1792 by the Chinese government to defend Tibet against British incursions. The so-called "snow lion" which is the centerpiece of that flag was a symbol of the Chinese emperor. We all know there are no lions in Tibet, whereas if you go to the forbidden city in Beijing, you will see plenty of stone lions. so, in reality, the "Tibetan flag" was really a Chinese flag!

Additionally and hypothetically, if Tibet was given the right to self govern, I assume the Lamas would gain a role in running the country.
We should not blindly expect human rights and particularly not childrens welfare to improve under that system.. i.e. how things were previously.
I fully support the right of Tibetans to self govern, if that's what they really want, but the next step in infrastructure must be considered carefully.

Boycotting products made in China would be very difficult because there are so many out there, they are competitively priced and many products are started in China/Phillipines/Thailand/Bangladesh and finished elsewhere, therefore having a label saying 'made in France' for example.
Exploitation of 'sweatshop workers' is through a world wide network of corporations. Us in the West have to accept it is our corporations at the top of the pyramid and take the protest and boycotts to them.
