  • I can't get my 3rd finger to come back down quick enough on the return .....BOooo !

  • @hipstarchild

    To go fast train slow...

  • thanks =D MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS PROFESORA

  • Good lesson, but might have to disappoint you. Cause.

If you have a good feeling for flamenco , you dont need to know how to strum strings like this to play for example bulerias.

You can strum starting from the index finger. I can even make a video about it, and it would sound the same good as this.

  • holy hell....

  • Damn, even though I'm an excellent guitarist, this makes me feel like I'm starting over again. It's so hard lol

  • at first, i thought you guys were all exaggerating lol. but when i tried it, i was like >.<

  • nice lesson, I think at this beginner level its also important to discuss compas.

  • this is soooo hard lols

  • This is a lot harder than it looks...OOooh I need to practise Rasqueado.

  • you make it see easy . but i know is hard , practice . practice and more practice

    thank you

  • nice tech for the beginnin of a song

  • You are beautiful! If you were my guitar teacher, I would have learned nothing about playing guitar by the end of the lesson.

  • OMG!!!! I love this flamenco stuff!! I'm taking right to it!! I'm starting to strum like a maniac! I'll never pick up a pick again!! Flamenco is the ultimate expression of the acoustic guitar!!!!!

  • great videos thanks

  • hi nice video :)

  • So do you do it with your pinky? Or is that "improper technique"?

  • @GeneralAnonymity

Depends on what you're after. I (and most people) prefer a 3-stroke rasgueado (ami), but some use a 4-stroke rasgueado (eami).

  • @GeneralAnonymity - That is a separate technique whereby you use all 4 fingers.

  • thank you now i know for certain how to build my muscular dexterity to achieve that good fundamental sound, brilliant tutorial, short to the point and easy.

  • Whick string are you hitting with each finger?

And thanks for the great video

  • Great Lesson!

  • nice video ...thanks for posting.

  • thanks I did play this because of you

  • great

  • I've decided to learn flamenco, but it's a far leap from my present style... Could someone clarify:

The thumb appears to be grounded on the E string. Is this the case? Also, is one hitting with the very tips of the nails? Should each finger hit with equal weight, as much as possible? Must the fingers bunch behind the thumb, or can they be against the palm?

I'd appreciate any help, thanks for the video, subscribed.

  • @Epistemofo for a lot of the techniques the thumb is planted on the low E string (and sometimes the a string) when doing picado technique on the A and low E string the thumb often rests against the body of the guitar. when you want to use all 6 strings the thumb is usually used as part of a rasgueado.

when you have the thumb planted and doing rasgueado it does slightly lift from the string at times

  • i'm in love with you lady

  • Good lesson. Simple and very useful. cheers.

  • which strings are you hitting for each finger????

  • @canaan1967

    all !

(What she does with the lower E where her thumb rests is unclear for me, too -

she uses cors where it should be free)

  • guapisma!

  • @MarMoCon

creo k lo escribe asi pork es andaluz (de andalucia) no espanol normal.

  • Thank you for sharing!

  • very usefull, thx!

  • ;if only my right hand could keep up with my left LOl, cool video

  • You did the rasqueado wrong it goes ISAM not AMI

  • aw, my fingers are hurting me so much!

  • This video is very helpful and the girl is a good teacher.

  • Flamenco is more than play in something in mixolidian mode. Have a diferentes styles named "palos" : "solea", "alegria", "Buleria","Cantes de levante","Fandango", Seguirillas" etc, with diferents "rasgueados", chords progressions, a more important, diferents changes in then accent in the diferents parts of compass.

  • MarMoCon, Her expalanation is exactly the same as Oscar Herrero's in his Paso a Paso vids. Also, she spells rasgueado correctly in the upper right hand corner.

  • Hm.. thanks 4 lssn.. tc.

  • slow and steady. then all of a sudden i made my own 5 strum rythm. im so happy, thank you

  • Thank you very much.

    Yes, lots of practice.

  • awesome... thanks for the lesson.. just what i needed.

  • Damn!!, you make it look so easy :)
