From my 13 years of Yellow Pages sales experience I found this very interesting. I just left Dex and joined the move to search engine optimization after seeing the call flow drop in a dramatic way the last few years. I also watched an average of -20% revenue for the last three years across the Dex footprint. Here is a physical example of the decline. The Metro Dex book in Phoenix is now smaller than the Albuquerque Dex book. Phoenix 2+ million and Albuquerque is 750K population.
The ladies are invited to ride with me in my markets in MI. Call counts from our phone directories are in the 100's of calls per month. Not every area is a NY.Rural areas don't have access to high speed (expensive) --cell service is spotty. YB is the buying info for shoppers who need to make decisions -at moment they need to buy. I can tell you clicks from internet, calls from ad in yb--Low cost Leads!!!
My furnace is not working in MI---Glad I got a YB to call a contractor!!!
These two reporters try to attack this guy like they're a couple of horn-rimmed muckrakers. How ironic that a Fox channel tries to take the high ground on environmental issues. The problem with their approach is that they simply don't have the facts, or seem to understand much of anything about the progress of shifting business. This is the "business" channel and they have to question whether or not print is still popular in any markets? This is why I turn anywhere else for real reporting.
