  • wow this totally helped me for shit faggot, slow the fuck down and dont change the camera angle so i can tell what you are doing

  • I learned all this and had competitions in the US navy tying this knot as fast as possible behind our backs blindfolded (that doesn't make much difference i know - was just for show). totally forgot all of this haha until i just relearnt it just now

  • @howcast thanks, i used this not to tie the ratlines on to the shroud ropes on my HMS Pickle. come over to my channel to see the progress of the boat.

  • funny, you can learn all of this in the BSA manual.

  • dude wtf? why did u call it clove hitch knot? a knot is a knot and a hitch is a hitch there is a huge difference. its called a clove hitch

  • @jacobtyler87 just how HUGE is the diff bet these 2 tying terms to you, pray tell and share us a bit of your wondrous intelligence so we'll know more.

  • @paidda Jacob is correct. It's called a clove hitch. Never a clove hitch knot. A knot is a knot and a hitch is a hitch. There IS a difference, usually covered on the first page or so in books on the topic.

  • thanks dude

  • Don't ya need a horse for this. Fakers.

  • You need rope for this shit?! Fuck that...

  • i already knew this one but i thought it was called a half hitch well im wrong but this is hard to remember when trying to tie it as if it were mirrored on the other side or reverse but a very good knot

  • Well done, easy to understand.

  • Now I know how to hitch my horse to the post when I go into the Saloon

  • I thought this was an okay video it was actually really helpfull! i thought it was so funny "well do you use a round rope?' Oh dear either you have never gone camping or you have never seen rope in your life!

  • Check my channel for better and safer instruction on this knot

  • Did you finish watching the video? They start from scratch at 0:24

  • this was soooooo incredibly unhelpful

  • still unable to tie it? you might try getting instructions from someone that knows the difference between a hitch and a knot!

  • all you do is wrap it around then as you go to wrap again cross it over then as you go around again put it under the part you crossed over

  • @strikeme5 no shit. he just explained it.

  • I need to know it for scouts tonight and I can't do it after watching this!

Does the rope have to be round?

  • ohhhh no, you never use rope that is round! that's the first rule in knot tying. use triangular rope or pentagonal rope if money is a problem. It works magnificent but it's a little harder to come by..................................................since it doesn't exist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what the hell kind of rope do you think you use? god! of coarse you use round rope.

  • this was the secont knot we were taught in webolos 2

  • easy but the two and a half hitch is more useful.

  • A simple hitch with many uses. Thanks for the review.

  • i almost got my fingure cut off when i was sailing, the winds got deadly and a storm blew in and i had to tie a my jibb sheets to a rescue boat and i chose a clove hitch and while i was tieing it a wave crashed us apart and my finger was in a hole in the knot, i didn't tie it properly so it just riped apart, lucky for me.

  • i can't tie the effing clove hitch. fuck.

  • nobody say first its annoying!
