So a Glock 22 is a .22 cal? Is it .22 LR or .22 Mag. kidding. Glock doesn't make a .22 cal. I have the 22 and really like it. I carry a .40 for my duty weapon so I carry the G22 as my CCW. I know it's kinda big for that, but it fits me just fine.
If anyone knew a damn thing about Glock, they have never made .22 caliber pistols and I doubt ever will make .22 caliber pistols. The .22 cal Glocks people think they see is made by a company that is the polar fucking opposite of top-of-the-line, and the company is ISSC. And I absolutely hate being the fucking grammar Nazi but people, really, make your english on here at least somewhat understandable.
I just got a 4th gen 22... its pretty sweet feels like shooting a 380... I also just got a mark XIX 50... the glock 22 feels like shoot a 22 cal after shooting that thing!
There are 22 conversion kits to have cheaper plinking, but if you carry for self defense it is wise to train for the recoil and experience the gun you will actually use. This caliber is an effective round with shot placement and good trigger control. The best shooting starts between the ears with good training and safety. Skill comes with the practice and training needs to be as close to what you will use as you can. I plink with a 22 for fun as a Ruger Mark III.
yeah, you have all most no chance of living through a .40 cal shot to the chest. and even if you did get shot with a .22 cal bullet, it could kill you. but you would have a good chance of living.
@mdguz35 22 is the model number, the caliber is 40. You actually have some chance to survive being shot with a 22 caliber round, bad mistake thinking the Glock 22 is a 22 caliber.
@mitchtay99 ...was this directed towards me? I know its a 40 cal. Im the one shooting it in the video. I think they were asking does glock make a 22 cal pistol. I've never seen glock make a 22 pistol.....now as far as the damage a 22 cal can do its actually a lot more then most folks think. Take for instances a 9mm..that most likely will go right through a human, but a 22 cal well enter you and bounce around like a pin ball machine...this could pierce several organs and end up doing more damage
@mdguz3 Yeah Mdguz35 your wrong lol. I have a glock 22 3rd Gen. Nasty gun i love it alot and mitchtay your right a 22 will bounce around in you. You can also stop a 22 by wearing thick clothing lol.
@pyroman10 stopping a bullet with clothing....you must be very young...The original question was does glock make a 22cal...Im not sure what you think the conversation was about but I was simply stating the gun im shooting is a 40 cal and is called a glock 22....please dont make comments suggesting someone can stop a bullet with heavy clothes...some idiot will try it...
@mdguz35 Not to mention that a 22. caliber bullet travels at a higher speed with a considerably more narrow contact than a .40 caliber lending to the idea that in all actuallity, a 22. caliber round will pierce far more layers of clothing than a 40.
@birdseye2285 you have to take bullet weight into effect; a 32-40 grain bullet isnt going to penetrate as far as a 155-180 grain bullet going about the same speed, even if there is less contact
@bearsfan1294 Exactly why I said a .22 travels at a much higher "Velocity", (Speed)... Exactly the reason the U.S. Military primarily uses the .223.... not to mention it's a much less expensive round of course.
@mdguz35 "stopping a bullet with clothing....you must be very young..." a home invader was shot 10x, only one round penetrated his jacket. it was a 9mm. there is some truth in stopping bullets with layered clothing.
@mdguz35 exactly, I have a .22 rifle and I can assure you that thick clothing won't stop that bullet, perhaps a couple of leather jackets, but I wouldn't voulenteer for human trials :)
@mdguz35 maybe if it hits bone, but i would still doubt it. its supposed to only be able to penetrate one side of the skull and bounce off the other side, but i would doubt anything bouncing off organs and soft tissue
@mdguz35 there are conversion kits for glocks tho there are some like the issc that feel just like a glock and look like one as well and come in cheap .22lr ammo
@mdguz35 ive seen them in a .22 but it could be a conversion..theres a little shop in london ontario that has glock 17s and glock 22s in .22 caliber but again could be a simply conversion because they are used
Advantage Arms makes a .22 long rifle conversion kits for what seems to be available for most Glocks, whether full size or baby glocks, which seem to go roughly around the same cost, whether for a .45 Glock 21 or 9mm Glock 26, for around $260 which includes the cleaning kit, magazine loader, & a single 10 round magazine; as a side note, this conversion also allows for the last-round slide lock back as the traditional Glock does so you still get similar Glock characteristics
my dad's police/S.W.A.T. he uses a sig sauer, glock 22, and m4. Not sure about the model of his shotgun, but seeing all these officers here, I think i'll get a reply on it soon =P.
I would go with the glock 22. The springfield jammed on me 3 times at the gun range. The third time it locked the bullet case in the barrel and jammed indefinitely
19 is great (if you have smaller hands or plan to use it for ccw). I own a 17 (3rd gen), I like the fuller grip and larger sight radius. But you can always add a +2 or +3 base plate to extend the gripping surface on the 19.
You get considerably more knock down power with the .40 Cal as compared to the 9mm, and the standard magazine in the G22 is good for 15 rounds. You can even upgrade to a higher cap mag, but I think 15 rounds of .40 Cal is plenty to get the job done. I just think the .40 S&W is a great round. It's has more snot than the 9mm Luger, but it is more manageable than the .45 ACP. It's not too expensive, and it's widely available. Anybody considering a 9mm should try out a .40 Cal first.
I beg to disagree, I was at the range a few weeks ago using a rental glock, it jammed on me three times with the first mag, then it didn't do it again.
BUt, point being, if you take care of your weapon, it will take care of you.
IMO personal preference...I actually had an XD 45 cal before I got the G22....the XD is an awesome weapon. Even with a 45 cal I could get it back on target relatively easy...put them both and your hand and see which one feels the best.
I love my g22 but I got to say I've shot the mp and its a very nice piece....shoots dead on and feels great in my hands...I just happen to be a glock guy...kind of like some guys are ford, some are chevy...glocks for me.
it all comes down to how much you want to spend, and what feels best in your hand. Where I live Glocks are just under 500, XDs are just over 500, the M&P is between 600 and 700, and a Sig or USP is up around 800.
I have a Glock 22 and I love it. I can't wait to get home from Iraq so I can start carrying.
I love carrying the Glock 22 too but I like to sport the Glock 23/27 when I conceal. I tried concealing the 22 but the full size handle always shows. Good gun nonetheless.
What's your body type? How did you carry i.e. IWB, OWB? Have you tried a "belly band"? I'm sure they might get a little uncomfortable if you sweat heavily but other than that they look like they might work.
I'm an avg build (5'10"/175), and I usually wear shorts and T-shirts as much as possible. I've got a Galco IWB holster and as long as I don't twist too seriously you don't really notice I'm carrying.
IWB. I'm average sized and I wear t-shirts a lot too but some of them are medium and the handle pokes out the back so that's when I sport the Glock 23. Otherwise, my shirts that are a little baggy work perfectly for the Glock 22. I wear the gun towards the back of my waste or else it's too uncomfortable. It's really personal preference though. I take my Glock 23 out when I'm just concealing but when I go to the range, I take my 21 and 22. If you get good with the Glock 22, 23/27 is no different.

I carry a g22 in .40. i use a shoulder mount and keep2 mags with me. Im not licensed nor do I need one. Im ex army and I will carry and shoot as I see fit.If civilian life doesnt agree Im shit out of luck i suppose. I do as I please, its the American way.
As a former military man myself (USMC) , I feel your disregard for the law is less than professional and reflects negatively on your training and values.
by the way, i also have g22 40 cal.. my problem is i only have 2 mags and it is not available here in the philippines. I want to buy 1 mag. 15 rounds. Where can i avail or order? Can you help me? thanks a lot.
I just bought a G22 as a little x-mas present for myself, and I can't wait to take it to the range. Initially I wanted the G23 for concealability, but with my huge hands (I'm 6'6) I found the 22 to be way more comfortable. I still think it will be a huge improvement for concealed carry than my Beretta 92FS, and with a larger caliber.
The Glock 22 is ALOT of fun to shoot, I have alot of fun shooting my dads police issue G22, and I find the kick reasonable to bad for a 40S&W- but I have small hands so...- lol
It was all in good humor. Just got back from the range the day I made the comment on here (yesterday) and was with some Glock people that day. Its kinda like the Ford and Chevy guys bumping heads at the dragstrip. Need to keep up the support for our fellow gun owners. Hope things go our way this November.
yes Glock guys tend to only shoot glocks...I was able to bring a S&W MP owner over to the glock side of things...he just picked up a g26. I have a g26 for ccw
When I join the Law Enforcement Field, I hope to be issued a Glock 22. Why? Because they seem to be more effective. It's like they're the best semi-automatic pistols. And even Tommy Lee Jones carried those in that movie he was the best in: U.S. Marshals.
No I dont...what generation do you have? Mine is a 3rd...You can look for a Houge grip that will slide over your grip. I actually put one on mine even though mine already had the finger grooves.
the .40 sw can vary in its recoil characteristics, the lighter 155 loads tend to be snappier like a hot 9mm load, the heavier loads like 180s feels more like a easy recoil .45 w/ 230s
The G22 recoils sort of like a hot 9mm +P round. Still easy to manage, but definitely more snappy. I guess that's how most people describe it... more like a harsh "snap" than a smooth "push" in recoil. I own a G22C (compensated model), but I've never had the chance to compare the recoil side-by-side with a standard G22 to see if the ported barrel / slide makes much of a difference.
I have a G22 & G19, also have a .357 w/ a 6 inch barrel. The G22 has the most uncomfortable recoil of them all. It is esp. more noticeable after not shooting for a while. My buddy has a G23 and that thing just plain hurts after a magazine full. I'm assuming a kick in the groin may be more enjoyable than shooting the G27.
Bought a 22 and shot the center out of the target from 7-10yds the first day on the range.

No, the full auto pistols are illegal....but you can modify the g22 to full auto

Very nice control of the gun, considering it's a .40cal which kicks more then the 9mm. God job.

As a former military man myself (USMC) , I feel your disregard for the law is less than professional and reflects negatively on your training and values.

I am former military as well (ARMY) and I have to say, that was the most intelligent comment ever posted on youtube.

Oh yeah...and I'm WAY stoked to finally own a GLOCK.
beneaththefallen 3 years ago
I just bought a G22 as a little x-mas present for myself, and I can't wait to take it to the range. Initially I wanted the G23 for concealability, but with my huge hands (I'm 6'6) I found the 22 to be way more comfortable. I still think it will be a huge improvement for concealed carry than my Beretta 92FS, and with a larger caliber.
beneaththefallen 3 years ago
The Glock 22 is ALOT of fun to shoot, I have alot of fun shooting my dads police issue G22, and I find the kick reasonable to bad for a 40S&W- but I have small hands so...- lol
GlockRocks22 3 years ago
Use trigger reset - ur finger goes forward too far after the shot.
JustinFromSydney 3 years ago
nice grip. A lot of ppl have trouble with the recoil on the 22 for some reason. I'm a little shaky myself.
mike77509 3 years ago
thanks...its definitely harder to get back on target with the g22 over my g26 or g17
mdguz35 3 years ago
I have a 27 and everyone says its very hard... i dont think its too bad... but like u said obviously u cant compare with the 9mm glocks...

Do Glocks come with free gift certificates to Dillard's?

are you serious....if you are...ummmmm no they dont...they come with responsability.

It was all in good humor. Just got back from the range the day I made the comment on here (yesterday) and was with some Glock people that day. Its kinda like the Ford and Chevy guys bumping heads at the dragstrip. Need to keep up the support for our fellow gun owners. Hope things go our way this November.
willerdogg 3 years ago
yes Glock guys tend to only shoot glocks...I was able to bring a S&W MP owner over to the glock side of things...he just picked up a g26. I have a g26 for ccw
mdguz35 3 years ago
Yes indeed Tommy Lee Jones was damn awesome with that gun in The Fugitive and US Marshals.
YamatoTitanic 3 years ago 3
Agree, he does handle the recoil well
Living2talk 3 years ago
When I join the Law Enforcement Field, I hope to be issued a Glock 22. Why? Because they seem to be more effective. It's like they're the best semi-automatic pistols. And even Tommy Lee Jones carried those in that movie he was the best in: U.S. Marshals.

The g22 is my favorite gun. That .40s&w is a hot little round huh? You manage the recoil well. Good job.
evan1293 3 years ago 5
How many rounds per clip? (I don't feel like counting)
Srakath 4 years ago
the clip can hold 15 rounds with one in the chamber. so the total amount that glock can hold is 16. I have two and they are great guns.
swampfoxx81 4 years ago
how much do they cost? each raply please thanx
jordan4vikki3r3 3 years ago
Glocks usually start around $500 USD, are you even allowed to own a glock or any firearms for that matter since you live in the UK?
J14ernandez 3 years ago
a new glock 22 is usually between 500 and 600 dollars including tax
newcadet 3 years ago
the magazine extention is nice too

got a tshirt too....yeah I love my glocks...great guns. I had an XD-45 before I got the G22...now dont get me wrong the XD-45 is a awesome piece too.

i also have a g22 and i was wandering if you get a slight like pinch on your middle finger of your right hand from the grove?
youngbuckohio90 4 years ago
No I dont...what generation do you have? Mine is a 3rd...You can look for a Houge grip that will slide over your grip. I actually put one on mine even though mine already had the finger grooves.
mdguz35 4 years ago
someone tell me how the look is different from a glock 17 and 18
ArtistOg 4 years ago
none except there a swith on the slide
thecorpsjohnb 4 years ago
the .40 sw can vary in its recoil characteristics, the lighter 155 loads tend to be snappier like a hot 9mm load, the heavier loads like 180s feels more like a easy recoil .45 w/ 230s
BordeauxBulldog 4 years ago
Eye safety?
coqueto45 4 years ago
The G22 recoils sort of like a hot 9mm +P round. Still easy to manage, but definitely more snappy. I guess that's how most people describe it... more like a harsh "snap" than a smooth "push" in recoil. I own a G22C (compensated model), but I've never had the chance to compare the recoil side-by-side with a standard G22 to see if the ported barrel / slide makes much of a difference.
G21SF 4 years ago
How bad is the recoil on that thing? Compare it to 9mm if you can.
PALADINHAMMMER 4 years ago
I have a G17 and G26. Its a lot more recoil then the g17 but not much more than g26. G26 has decent recoil since it s a compact pistol.
mdguz35 4 years ago
I have a G22 & G19, also have a .357 w/ a 6 inch barrel. The G22 has the most uncomfortable recoil of them all. It is esp. more noticeable after not shooting for a while. My buddy has a G23 and that thing just plain hurts after a magazine full. I'm assuming a kick in the groin may be more enjoyable than shooting the G27.
cclampe 4 years ago
I don't think the recoil is bad at all. I have a full size Glock 22 and when I go to the range I put at least 200 rounds through it at a time.
Just for reference the range I go to doesn't allow rapid fire so I tend to fire about a round a second, with an occasional double tap.
Can't wait to get back from Iraq so I can start carrying.
