  • I cannot find the sheet music for this ANYWHERE.

  • @connaisons edition breitkopf 6709

  • one of them sounds very ducky. probably not breathing right.

  • @kssork It's probably just the reed. Not the person.

  • la ci darem la manoooo, la mi dirai di si....

  • I play the oboe, and it sounds like a duck dying...

  • @markusboyd3 My teacher says I have a good sound, and I only play duck sounds on an high F. He referred the other students as strangling geese.

  • I sound like a duck dying on my oboe... I've gotten better !!!

  • THEY SOUND SUPERCALIFRAGILSTICLY AWESOME!!!

  • I play the oboe , second year :) Its amazing!!(:

  • i play oboe!!! my dream is to play english horn next!! wen i was playing my oboe i didnt know if it was me or a dying duck out side..all i heard was SQUAK!!

  • Oh how I miss playing both the Oboe and English Horn. :/ Very beautiful.

  • oboes ROCK!! i kill anybody who calls me a clarinet (no offense but i dont like clarinets anymore for this reason: ive been called one like 5 times to many to keep count)

  • +1 Oboe player (And hopefully English Horn player) likes this! :D

  • all you need is a bassoon ;D

  • I tried bassoon after years of playing clarinet. I have to say, you double reed players have your work cut out for you!

  • SERENADE FROM DON GIOVANI!

  • I play bassoon for my band but I have played oboe for a couple years after teaching myself. This year my teacher chose a song with an english horn solo and I got to play it. Also my bassoon teacher has a contrabassoon so I play that as well when she lets me. So...I can play all the double reeds. *special* (:

  • Ahhhhh! I love the oboe! I hav played for two years and I the only one in my band..... But it reely fun! but I still sound like a duck sometimes....... I play on a medium lesher reed. I hate jones! Anyways you guy sounded awesome!!!!

  • My friend is gonna buy me an english horn, im so excited. I play Alto Sax right now and I like it for jazz of course, and for marching band, but it doesnt really have a place in classical music.

  • I play english horn and oboe!!!! haha

  • i play oboe and bassoon. and im a beast. <3 classical

  • Wonderful playing! I adore the duet "Là ci darem la mano" from Don Giovanni (the melody this theme and variations is based on) - this is such a fun way to enjoy it :) Thanks for posting this video!

  • OBOES RULE! :D:D:D:D:D

  • very beautiful!!!

  • WE HONKIN... PHrasing and dynamics if you please

  • i play oboe and since im a beginner....it sounds like a duck dying... -_-

  • @heroloverXD you'll get the hang of it :)

  • @SopranoPry its really fun though... im really glad that i decided to learn it.

  • @heroloverXD Embouchure and how much air contributes to the "duck sound" I sounded the same when i first began. Maby you are on a reed that may be to strong for you. If you are on a medium (which most music stores only carry) try moving down to a medium soft. That will help alot! PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!!!! If you dont you will have a hard time achiving the clean cut sound u hear here. Good luck!!

  • @heroloverXD OMG you mad me LOL so bad haha. As a fellow oboe player... I feel your pain. Keep working hard!

  • @heroloverXD That's the cross oboists must bear. That's pretty much what your whole oboe playing life is gonna be. Not sounding like a dying duck.

  • @heroloverXD ur fault lol joking

  • well done. go SAXOPHONES.im learning oboe and english.

  • @1994BlackEagle i Play Bari Sax i Have to Play Bassoon n Oboe For Concert ha lol

  • i play oboe.. :DDD

  • if i played a woodwind i would do oboe fo show

  • very nice!

  • I LOVE OBOE!!!

I play oboe but I'm only decent.

How can I get good freakin' tone on it???

I wanna be like these people!!

  • @JEWong47 Harder reeds and a crapload of practice. xP

  • @JEWong47 I think you can try to do something on your reeds. Reeds quality usually determines sound quality.

  • Oh my God, that's sooo cute :D

  • would someone pleez tell me the name of this song? i have had trouble finding it

  • @brazilianninja14 "La ci Darem la Mano" from Don Giovanni! Get the entire opera, it's phenomenal!

  • I would love to take up english horn i only play oboe and clarinet, but i think something like dance of the mirlitons or la cinquantane would sound better on cor anglais than it does when i play them on clarinet and oboe

  • english horn AND oboe have pretty much the same fingerings so you'd only have minor adjustments, fingerings ...THE SAME. for the most part(english horn doesn't hit certain low notes[i think])

  • The only difference down low is that english horns do not have a low Bb key.

  • @BandolAFL and they are an octave lower...

  • @Stoneripple1 Its only a perfect 5th lower if you want to get specific.

  • @emoemoemo13666 only b flat, but omg, at first half hole d is sooo annoying, I hate the split key

  • @Stoneripple1 haha, I LIKE THE SPLIT KEY! And i can't believe how old that comment was.

I wasn't even a cors player back then , haha just oboe. either way . lol LOVE THE OBOE FAMILY!

  • Thats amazing. I just started playing the oboe, because just started junior high. I enjoy the oboe so far.

  • The oboe is a wonderful, gorgeous instrument. You have good taste. Keep working on it! Cheers, J

  • This is really beautifully done! I love it. And if you are going to post stupid comments like stabbing straws in your ears, don't post at all...you are missing the point. I agree, beautiful English horn solo! Beautiful trio, post more stuff please!!!!

  • I double english horn and oboe in a local youth orchestra, and this horn player is extraordinary. The amount of work put in must have been tremendous. I know from experience that the fingerings are quite hard to execute precisely, and she pulled it off!Bravo!!!!

  • nice , we have also played that song

  • Do someone know from which piece the theme is taken?

  • It's from Don Giovanni, from the duet between Zerlina and Don Giovanni.

  • i really want to learn english horn. i play the oboe now and i really love it. =]

  • @michelleisatwin i would like to play the english horn to i play oboe but i would like to play english horn

  • The passage around 1:30 - WOW... I love the arpeggio/scale work there, and all the practice it must have taken by the hornist...

  • she really plays that technique like it was an oboe doesn't she? Quite impressive to be so fluid technically on such a potentially clunky instrument.

  • Nicely done you are an awsome trio

  • can u help me my high notes above a g sound horrid how can i get them to sound good

  • A LOT of different factors could change your high notes. Your reeds may be unstable (that takes a lot of explaining if you don't make your own reeds) and if you open your embouchure a tad and just blow more air through the horn it will help. You can't clamp your lips down on the high notes, and you have to fill the horn up with a bunch of air so that it "sings" at full potential.

  • omg thx soo much tht was prolly why again thx

  • No prob. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
