@greenbelter123 Sorry but no it's not a foot fault. After you've made contact with the ball you can land anywhere. The foot fault occurs during the service motion leading up to ball contact if the foot touches the line or is in the court.
i dont even think roger is 100% sure wat racket he uses they made him a racket a long time ago and hes been using the same one since like 2003 he said they just paint it to look like the newer ones
no it's not tennis elbow. i had the same problem and i solved it. the problem is that actually you hit the ball with this movement of the raquet..the instant when you are hitting the ball your raquet do this :left to right up . it's hard to explain but you have to hit the ball with a better kick serve and fluid movement. ask to your coach to teach you how to kick in the right way... sorry my english sucks
these guys may be right but strings and grip could also attribute to your pain as mine did. some ppl say if you use really stiff strings like luxilon alu power rough that hit like rock solid this could give you some elbow pain. same as grip size too for some reason i really can't explain. i noticed for my racquets i was using a smaller grip than what i should have been using. i had 4 1/4 on mine. when i started putting over grips on mine to make them bigger, my elbow didn't hurt anymore.
getting elbow pain from serving is the story of my game. I had it for such a long time and thought it was tennis elbow but i later found out through correction that my arm wasnt fluid enough and was jerking around everywhere when i would extend. I think it was because i was tossing the ball wrong and would end up hitting the ball in the wrong spot and my arm would try to make up for that, which led to the elbow pain. Corrected where i make contact with the ball and elbow pain is gone.
o if only i could be as fluid as that, no stopping in their, i think i have a split second pause in my serve, gotta get my toss down, wish i had a camera so i can c how my form looks
it is simply a different style; some call it platform service stance; sampras uses it as well; but players such as roddick use the pinpoint stance (bring the feet together)...
@Aoshimaa its the bow and arrow serve that Pete Sampras had. It's almost like standing still and wacking as hard as you can with your arm. Instead you also put your whole body into it with better consistency and direction.
Federer has a great serve, but far from the best. The best in terms of speed, is Roddick. In terms of aces it is Goran, who Karlovic is second to. Overall, it would be Sampras.
when federer needs an ace he shoot an ace , that's is the most important thing of his service,it helps him in break points and in important points , he's second service is amazing too
If that's true, why does he constantly lose his service games to Nadal, who actually doesn't have that big of a return? He also loses his service games to Davydenko, who has weak groundstrokes on tour due to his lack of weight, though he finds ways to make up for it. I will say his second serve is very good, one of the best now on tour, if not the best OVERALL. His serve is VERY far from the best. He doesn't have that much pace, and doesn't generate enough spin to make up for it like Sampras.
surely that's a foot fault????

Fed has changed his movements a little. In his early years, he diced the ball higher. Now the movement is perfectly timed.

thanks
how you know that ?
I have read a comment that he used for a long time old painted Pro Staffs, you could see it at the cap of the grip.
ulizinho 2 years ago
what racket does he actually use ?
K-Factor, Six One Tour, Pro Staff or the latest one ???
I know that Soderling has some extra led in both the head and the grip. You can see it, the cap is missing and a metal stick can be seen.

It means your technique is wrong and you should take up knitting instead!

can anyone tell me if there are any advantages of jumping into the serve like that?
RogerFedererTennis93 3 years ago
jumping lets you hit the ball higher, better downward angle (can hit harder); its also an part of the kinetic chain (for power).

thanks ;)

if you jump to the ball you can hit the ball higher and faster

federer serve is not very fast. but his serve is so accurate. federer serve is the best.

he can serve up to 130 mph
but he doesnt need to
consistency/accuracy > power
