'60% of our happiness comes from our genes'. What the researchers failed to take into consideration is that twins separated at birth shared the exact same environment for the most critical part of their development (biologically and genetically speaking): the nine months in-utero. Genes do NOT determine our destiny. Genes are tools for the organism; we are not tools of our genes. Check out Dr. Bruce Lipton.
@Jefferdaughter Um, hmmm. The whole point of the book is exactly that: genes don't determine our destiny. :) For the record: It was actually 50% of our happiness (not 60%) that some researchers believe to be from genetics (with 10% from circumstances and 40% from our thoughts and behaviors). And they didn't fail to take the environment into consideration as they studied identical twins separated at birth.
I agree with so much of this. I am definitely for the scientific approach, not so much the spirituality part. I think of religion as an escape from reality, in the same vein of the effect of drugs and its also fleeting, doesn't work.
wow! never knew before that there was such thing as a scientific aproach to "happiness' (maybe bits and pieces of research here and there but nothing systematic). Thank you, Brian!
Brilliant. I bought the notes a few weeks ago, and this will help guide me through in a consistent way.
I originally thought that the audio MP3s would be more of a unscripted riffing like you're doing here, and so I'm super stoked that you're doing this via video! I think it really helps to hear you speak from the heart rather than reading what you wrote since it's a lot easier to digest information chunks this way.
thx, kent!!! yah. i decided to do the mp3s scripted for consitency and then taught 90 classes on these books when i was in bali so I'm THRILLED to finally bring this energy in concise chunks!
really appreciate your support and excited to share all that we're working on!! fun! :)
please lemme know if there's ever anything you'd like to see more (or less!) of! :)
Thank you for telling us about this book!! AWESOME!!!
