  • Nice man! But what's the difference between super 40s and super 44s?

  • I'm looking at getting a Monte Carlo SS. How much was yours and what's the price on the exhaust. It sounds mean by the way.

  • @iDRIFT14 I paid like 23,000 when I bought it with 1000 miles used. But you can get them MUCH cheaper now. The exhaust was about $200 installed.

  • where did u get ur flowmaster system? bcuz i have a 2006 monte carlo ss n am looking for a flowmaster system. please respond ASAP. thx

  • @countspankula123 I just went to a local muffler shop. Anyone should be able to order them and install. These aren't even TRUE flowmaster 40's. They are cheaper knockoffs that sounds exactly the same.

  • QUESTION!!!! I just had Flowmaster 40 series mufflers installed in my 06 Monte SS. Now I love the sound that this car makes from the video, my question is if I remove the resignator, will that hurt any engine performance and anything whatsoever????????? Someone told me to be careful cause of the 'back pressure' from removing it.

  • @wholeFNcaptain No it will not hurt engine performance to remove the resonator. It will only affect the sound. The video has the removed resonator. Make sure you give your car a good couple months with the new mufflers so they break in properly. Once they break in, if you want it to sound louder and throatier, remove the resonator. Just know it will get a littler crackly on the top end of a rev while stationary.

  • @s0ulr0ck4h Alright. I wasnt sure. I just had the mufflers put on a week ago and they asked if I wanted the resignator off but decided to hold off until I knew what I was getting into. Thank you much for the reply! Really appreciate it.

  • @s0ulr0ck4h with the resonator off will i pass inspection?

  • @ditimedia93 For sure. It's just a sound change. You won't need to worry about inspections until you get into making changes to the cat.

  • @s0ulr0ck4h ok cool because some body from a exhaust shop told me i wont shud i put a glasspack or a pipe

  • Sounds like my LT1 at low revs.

  • haha locked himself out with the remote start... sounds pretty good. I've got the same mufflers on my 300ZX, I just need to put some cats back on it.

  • i got a 01 monte ss and all u did was change yo mufflers no airtake or nuttin? sound real good i might have to go head get mine done 2morrow

  • @Bigdstunna620 I can't remember if I had an intake or not on at the time. However, the intake sound doesn't really kick in until about 3000-3500 RPMS in these cars...

  • Now THAT sounds good! More like a raw muscle car sound

  • im think of gettng just the mufflers for my 06 impala ss do you think it will sound differant with just the mufflers?

  • Yeah it will definitely make a nice difference by just replacing the mufflers. I initially only change the mufflers, but I wanted more.

  • I LOVE MY 03!!!! i'm puttin 40' series mufflers on her real soon!

  • why do people use the remote start on a car when they are just about to get in... whats the point?

  • To make ya jealous Jenna ;-) Honestly, it's out of habit, I love hearing my exhaust rumble before I get in my car. :-)

  • What muffler is that exactly and is it louder than the 44s? Did you have to have any special installation done or was it a direct bolt on?

  • @blaknite1 Flowmaster 40 knockoffs. I'm pretty sure 44's aren't as loud, but I could be wrong.

  • Last year was '07 for the monte carlo sadly.

  • No they're not...last year for the monte was 07 or 08 I believe.

  • Just to let you know, I have an 04 Monte w/ Flowmaster single chamber mufflers and its a beast!! Sounds like my 88 SS w/ 385.

  • Just so you know, the '06 SS is a V8, not a V6. However, I had an '05 with a 3800 V6 supercharged and the same pipes sounded great on it.

  • Let us hear it under power from inside the car! I want to add the 40's to my 08 Impala SS, but I want to know what it sounds like at cruising speeds (60-70 MPH) when you are not on the throttle.

    Sounds great in the video.

  • If I get I chance I will. I can tell you when you're cruising its pretty quiet...unless I get on it. Put on the radio and you won't notice.

  • well im not really looking for any HP gain, i just want my monte carlo to sound like a beast lol. But thanks for the tips, i shall put them to good use. Although, im thinking about getting flowmaster 44's instead of the 40. But who knows, depending on how much they cost haha

  • holy shit dude sounds great! Where did you get your exhaust from?? I've been looking for one to add to my monte carlo ss, 2007

  • Thanks! Basically, its a very cheap simple setup. I replaced the stock mufflers with flowmaster 40's, reused the stock tips and replaced the resonator with a straight pipe. Otherwise, the rest of the exhaust (cat, downpipe, y-pipe) is all stock. There isn't really an HP gain from this setup...you'd have to do some additional work to get gains.
