  • It is always amazing to non-chess players when someone remembers their game, but even non-masters do this... for Kramnik something like remembering the game and variations (especially with use of a board) is incredibly trivial, he is so much better than a silly trick like that :)

  • it's astounding he can remember the game he's played and all the variations, no matter the position at the time. he narrates in an accessible fashion.

  • kramnik is very good at explaining these things, it appeals to all different chess levels in my opinion.

  • wait, why did he place the black rook on that odd square? a7...

  • No one is surprised when a musician remembers all the notes and chords in a song and can play them in order. In the same way a good game of chess also has rhythym and structure that comes naturally to chess players. To someone like Kramnik chess is a lanuguage that he speaks and understands with near perfect fluency.

N.B. In addition to being world champion Kramnik is also the strongest blindfold player around.

  • bobby fishcer is a genius,,, but this doesn't mean that he his the best of all time.

  • That's the problem with Americans. They think they own the world. Kramnik is Russian. He doesn't necessarily have to learn the game called 'chess' from an American, doesn't matter how great player bobby Fishcer was!

  • fischer was the greatest player... from the west=)

    throw them a bone hehe

  • Fischer, Morphy, Capa, Pillsbury. I think they have plenty of bones already.

  • He's a genius!!!

  • i think he learned it from one of bobby fischer's game.

  • Fischer does not play catalan... in fact he rarely starts with any move other than 1. e4

  • no 1 game he did c4

  • he said "rarely" . He didn't say he never plays 1. c4.

  • Impeccably played.

And impeccably dressed he is, too ;-)

  • Unbelievable presentation by Kramnik. And it was a great victory against Anand, too

  • remembering a game isnt hard at all, if you thought alot during it, go is a bit harder but still not so bad.

  • he knows that match, and like the last 100 games he has played lol

  • wtf does he know the whole match ?

    what memory these guys have?

  • its not hard memorizing the last game you played...

when i play a game i can atleast remember the whole game for 5 days or more if play it out on a chess board :P

  • Most pro chess players can memorize thousands of games.

  • A bit noisy, but thank you very much!

  • great analyisis by the champ!

  • Kramnik shows how Endgame perfection makes a champion worthy of his title!
