As a communist I am suprised that you would have Stalin, Kim Il Sung and his son Kim Jung Il as leaders of communism. They are in fact the oppisite, they ruled as totalitarians, they were despots that oppressed and Kim Il Jung is still doing it. Seriously, get a grip before you put out false propaganda yourself. Communist are hated as is.

Greetings from America comrades. i am one of the 5,000 or so members of the American Communist Party, and also i am a member of the Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigrade. when the global revolution happens when us marxists take over we in the ACP and RCP will take over America from within! and the world shall see a COMMUNIST USA!!!!

Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletariats have nothing to lose but their chains. We have a world to win. Inspiring words...
This is so poorly done, their are arguements for these. Capitalsm is not great, but communism is far worse! we need procautions in capitalist society to prevent such stupid acts. There wasn't be a revolution for a long time. The USA will freak out 'cause of China's, Russia's, and India's economic growth and we'll have a political landscape of similar to the Cold War again.
We'll also be too busy with peak oil to deal with it.
More vague, religious psychobabble? Please, capitalism has equally rejected Christ, yet you don't throw fit over that. Learn how to think with your brain, not your Bible.
". . . This person must, indeed, be swept out of the way, and made impossible.
Communism deprives no man of the power to appropriate the products of society; all that it does is to deprive him of the power to subjugate the labour of others by means of such appropriations."
-- Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels, Das Manifest der Kommunistischen Partei
Every country where communism ruled was turned into a prison where the workers are slaves of the state. It's no coincidence that the only countries where soldiers still goose-step are ruled by communist tyrants. Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Khrushchev, Che, Uncle Ho, Ceaucescu, Kim-Il-Sung, and Pol Pot are burning in hell and Fidel will soon join them. Viva Cuba Libre, Viva El Cristo Rey!
Communism has never been in power any where is the world. Under communism there is no state. I have said this amillion different times to a million different people around Australia and around the world. There is four stages to the development of society. The second one is capitalism, the third one is socialism, and the fourth one is communism. Communism is the last stage is the development of society where is the state is abolished and there is no money.
According to who? According to Marx, whose works Leninists are not in general very familiar with, there is six stages of society: the prehistorical communism [hunter gatherer society], the slave-society, the feodal society, the capitalist society, the socialist society and finally the communist society. Read Marx.
Just an excuse for the utter bankruptcy of the communist system. Marx was a fool who had no understanding of human nature. He denies the power of the spirit and thinks everything is based on economics (i.e. the dialectic materialism). The most basic human right, the right to keep the fruits of ones labor (the private ownership of property) is denied by Marx. When the state owns your labor, you're a slave. That's why a communist government can only maintain power at the point of a gun.
You are a pseudo-intellectual; you haven't provided any evidence to back up these claims, you've merely gone on spouting sensationalist rhetoric. First, Marx wrote more on the subject of human nature than you've ever read. And he definitely read way more on the subject than you ever will. Second, while he saw the economic basis of society as the most significant of social relations, he didn't conclude that it was the only one. Third, dialectical materialism is based on philosophy, not economics.
Though he did apply it to society and economics in his development of historical materialism and in Das Manifest und Das Kapital. Fourth, the private ownership of capital allows the capitalist to appropriate the fruits of the workers' labour by selling the product thereof and paying but a fraction of it in wages. Thus Marx advocated its abolition in favour of COMMON ownership of capital through direct, economic democracy, thus allowing the product thereof to be retained by the producer:
"You are horrified at our intending to do away with private property. But in your existing society, private property is already done away with for nine-tenths of the population; its existence for the few is solely due to its non-existence in the hands of those nine-tenths. You reproach us, therefore, with intending to do away with a form of property, the necessary condition for whose existence is the non-existence of any property for the immense majority of society. . . "
". . . From the moment when labour can no longer be converted into capital, money, or rent, into a social power capable of being monopolised, i.e., from the moment when individual property can no longer be transformed into bourgeois property, into capital, from that moment, you say, individuality vanishes.
You must, therefore, confess that by "individual" you mean no other person than the bourgeois, than the middle-class owner of property. . ."
I'm no intellectual, but am someone who's seen first hand how communists operate. The only thing the followers of Marx left behind is a legacy of tyranny. High sounding talk while they murder and enslave the people they supposedly represent. Viva Cuba Libre, Viva El Cristo Rey!
Yet you feign knowledge of their work, and now you deny it. And rightly so; you are but acting as the rhetorical goon of capital, denouncing what he can not comprehend and praising the glory of God and His King of Kings. Yet little do you know that Jesus called the exploitation of property and profit of the ultimate of sins. Yet the Bible which tells the story of Jesus itself has been used to defend the greatest of atrocities and soften the hearts of the oppressed into passivity.
In much the same way the works of Marx have been exploited by its supposed followers to exploit and oppress the working masses. But Marx is not to blame for this; many things can be used to exploit people in much the same way. As for that tyranny you describe, such is what happens when the state is made to become the capitalist and maintains the market for the exploitation of labour. In this manner, the state acts as a giant corporation over the entire economy of a single nation.
This is not socialism, it is but state capitalism. The workers have no power over production, the state has a monopoly over all conditions of the market. Marx called for workers' ownership, not state ownership, as the goal of communism. "What about the ten planks in the Manifesto?" you may be asking yourself, "Does that not call for state ownership of the instruments of production?" The ten planks only called for these measures, "where modern, bourgeois conditions of production prevail."
Not only were these measures advised only in the reform of the capitalist state, but after Marx & Engels had gained experience as revolutionaries in the Revolutions of 1848 and their observations of the Paris Commune of 1871, they stated that the capitalist state is unreformable and must be abolished:
"In view of the gigantic strides of Modern Industry since 1848, and of the accompanying improved and extended organization of the working class, in view of the practical experience gained, first in the February Revolution, and then, still more, in the Paris Commune, where the proletariat for the first time held political power for two whole months, this programme has in some details been antiquated. . ."
". . . One thing especially was proved by the Commune, viz., that "the working class cannot simply lay hold of ready-made state machinery, and wield it for its own purposes."
-- Karl Marx & Friedrich Engels, Preface to the German Edition of Das Manifest der Kommunistischen Partei of 1872
The old excuse for the utter failure of the communist system, that real communism has never been implemented. That would be news to communist tyrants the world over. Apparently real communism only exists in the fevered minds of university professors. As for the exploitation of labor by capital, I can't recall an instance of any boat people headed toward a communist country or anyone being shot trying to sneak into a Red paradise. People vote with their feet and they vote for freedom.
Back atcha; same old excuse: "People vote with their feet." Yet you never KNOW any of these, people, you never ASK any of them why they go. They go because there's slightly better pay. That's it. But of course, all you have is greedy reductionism; exploitation's ok coz people choose it all the time, they vote for the US, "they vote for freedom." But you can't explain away the realities of exploitation, all you can say is that exploitation in America is better than exploitation in Mexico.
More evidence that you don't read: "communist tyrants" call their system socialism. Your examples are socialist states ruled by "Communist" parties. They never called it communism. You know why? Because it doesn't FIT the definition of communism: A classless, STATELESS society based on the common ownership of capital. Furthermore, communism doesn't, "only exist in the fevered minds of university professors." It's not like there aren't historical examples of communism, you just don't know it.
Perhaps the best examples were the collectives that came about as a result of the social revolution that took place during the Spanish Civil War in 1936. When the revolution broke out in the middle of July, 1936, the workers and peasants seized and collectivized most of the industry and agriculture in the Republican zone. Up to 75% of the economy was placed under workers control in committees organized by the Confederacion Nacional del Trabajo - Federacion Anarquista Iberica (CNT-FAI).
The committees were run via direct democracy, membership was voluntary, and anyone could participate in the decision-making functions of the collectives, even the individualists who remained outside of the collectives in many cases! Productivity increased, prices dropped, and technological innovation flourished. And all this while they were fighting a civil war to boot! In many collectives and communes money was completely abolished:
"In some other areas there was almost a fully communist system in operation. For example in the Naval collective in Huesca a system operated where you just went to the collective store and took what you needed. Contributions and withdrawals were recorded and all was reduced to simple accounting."
-- flag . blackened . net/revolt/spain/ws_collective . html
So don't tell me or anyone else for that matter that communism is a utopian fantasy; there are more historical examples than just this, hell, even your Bible, if it's as gospel true as you Christians are always going on about, gives historical examples of communism! Furthermore, it indicates that this is the just and holy way to live:
All that believed were together, and had all things in common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
"There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold. They laid it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. There was a Levite, a native of Cyprus, Joseph, to whom the apostles gave the name Barnabas. He sold a field that belonged to him, then brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet."
"This is what the Lord has commanded: Gather of it, every man of you, as much as he can eat; you shall take an omer apiece, according to the number of persons who each of you has in his tent. And the people of Israel did so; they gathered some more, some less. But when they measured it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; each gathered according to what he could eat."
Just to note, I'm not the crazy Christian, here; YOU are, jpb252! So get out your Bible, read it for yourself, and reflect! Who knows? you might become a better person. But I don't need to read the Bible to know these things, I just like to read; maybe that's why you're stuck at rhetorical rambling.
Communal living failed in Bible just as it has everywhere else; as Paul said, "If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat." -2nd Thes 3:10. The Plymouth colony didn't prosper until William Bradford gave everyone a plot of land and allowed them "to keep the increase thereof." Orwell saw the real face of communism in Spain, how they murdered the anarchists. It wasn't pretty. As for me, I'll stand with my friends from Cuba, not their communist oppressors.
How does that point to failure? That's a matter of principle; equal liability among all to labour. Yes, the Stalinists and the Fascists murdered the Anarchists, but this is the only reason communism in Spain failed; brute force and violent suppression. It was a complete success and held out until the bitter end. The Plymouth Colony was a failure, I admit, but many communes fail or succeed for a variety of reasons. The number of successful cases proves that it isn't an impossibility.
And as for your friends in Cuba, do whatever you bloody well please. You're gonna think however you want, and I encourage that. I disagree with the fact that Cuba has offered the workers little opportunity to manage the economy themselves, but at the same time, there IS freedom and democracy in Cuba, over 95% of the electorate regularly votes, and the overwhelming majority of Cuban citizens express satisfaction and support for their government:
