It's a win-win, you contribute to society, you get something in return.

I wasn't referring solely to World War II you dimwit, I'm aware of places such as the pale, but the Nazi's who were enslaved by the Soviet's fucking deserved it. Communism > Fascism. Everyone is equal as a human being, that doesn't mean they are all equal and society. In order for Communism to actually work the entire population has to be willing to be subjected to virtual slavery, have no ambitions, and work their asses of for the same amount of money as somebody who does a much easier job. Communism also attracts corruption, the government controls the money. Communism will NEVER work, you can not adjust the people to the system, you must adjust the system to the people.

And socialism is workable... if it wasn't, then the European countries who got socialism right (Yugoslavia and Romania) would be better off now than before... but still, 80 % of us believe that life was better in socialism, as well as 70-75 per cent Romanians.
As for socialism not being economically workable... how come that Romania managed to pay off all foreign debts during its time in socialism.

@ThiefFanatic You seem to forget that debt was paid off by depriving the citizens of many basic needs. Take everything people produce, give them only the most basic in return... That's slavery my good man, and it's well known that from slavery, everybody benefits, except the slaves. The normal Romanian paid the price for the socialist economy and it's extremely inefficiënt method of production still trying to maintain a positive foreign trade balance.

@strongman325 In the SFRY, all you had to do was finish a school, or go through college (and that was a LOT cheaper than it is now), and you'd get a job without any trouble, and you were safe and free for the rest of your life. Now, people who have finished college are lining up to be nurses, garbage-men, etc. etc.
You can not seriously compare Soviet-occupied puppets (Poland, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, etc.) to free or at least partially free socialist states.

Communism is a stupid idea, Capitalism is the best system right now. Most countries in Africa are ruled by dictators why are you comparing them to capitalist countries? I never said that the system we have today is perfect, as there is A LOT of corruption, however it is better than EVERYONE starving and not having anything.

@nhytgbvfeco2 On the contrary I said lazy people should be left ALONE and NOT given social help. A good solution is something they have in Germany called a "Euro Job". If you can't find a job or you are homeless etc...you can go to the administration and you will get a job that will pay one euro and hour(by law they HAVE to pay you something), and if you do this job the administration pays for your necessities. It's a win-win, you contribute to society, you get something in return.
