I should have done this before on my blog but I have a link to a pdf file that shows in ancient times they made jewelery out of it and added beads as they sewed it. Type into Google: 'Trichinopoly – Viking Knit Wire' and it should come up.
@OMAREBANKS23 for the actual acorn, not the video, I used No.5 Smooth Passing vintage gold thread circa 1950, made to English specifications - I dont have a lot left.
I am in contact with a gold thread maker who says he can copy the thread. I have sent him a sample to do this.

Thank you for this. I'm going to try it with wire and no background cloth so I can use it as a dangle in jewelry. It's quite beautiful.
