  • what an absolute nightmare, we are going to be enslaved by this

  • one thing for sure, when there's a software upgrade. It take less time to upgrade as all running equal. We talking about Salesforce own crm, cms, erp, hrm and etc. Its possible there are security flaw on the software, but it difficult to find one.

  • bad bad bad

  • I don't fully agree with the more security aspect. If a security flaw is found in an application then that means that all businesses using that application suffer from that flaw.

  • interesting video to know what is cloud computing. Actually, I am planning to join the upcoming events this coming February 9 at Colorado convention center hosted by cloudfest. org. It's a one day cloud computing training conference. see you there...

  • what was this presentation made on? please

  • @sifiavili probably flash ...

  • This sounds like something a mac user would like. I'd rather control my own data.

  • huge issues with this I think its for suckers

  • good video!

  • how on earth are you going to get people to trust this, the guy sounds like a second hand car salesman.

  • your info is already out there, through 1 of 12 computers that control the internet.

  • DONT TRUST NO MAN HE WILL FUCK YOUR GIRL

  • Who owns Cloud? How many people will have access to essentially my entire life(legal documents)?

Shit like this will be the death of anonymity on the internet. Now not only will they have you're IP but also where you work, your entire family, every site you've ever visited, and every comment you've ever posted. As for the "only pedo's have to worry" argument; 360,000 songs are illegally downloaded per-minute(mostly by kids) so we better start making bigger Prison's now and save some time.

  • i see two major problems with cloud computing ....one as it says no tech team will b needed to manage data centres ...z f9...dis will close one door 4 employment prospects ...in india ,,which z already a major hub of unemployment...it will be cost effective for d owners ...they already earn so much......so y nt thnk for d workin class ...which r greater in no..........n 2nd obviously d security concerns...

  • great explanation, sir. thank you for the short lecture, it really means a lot to me.

  • Interesting.

  • Where is the privacy! Cant anyone else see that clouds are bad? Not to mention the Hack-ability of these clouds! Most Hackers like to go after larger targets not smaller ones! and if your data is in a cloud somewhere your the first to be vandalized! Most hackers know their ways around firewalls hence the term hacker! So when your information is up for grabs to the highest bidder and your more in debt you can thank the cloud!

  • So pretty much Cloud computing = programs run from the servers? ...Like that Microsoft Office web app?

  • @nicegoodspeed1: In our experience it means IT professionals get distilled and redistributed. In a company IT dept. you are overhead. That is ultimately doomed anyway. At a data center/cloud hosting provider you are revenue generating. The other opportunity is to migrate your skills toward the n number and open-ended litany of apps vendors who can offer functions and services to businesses as cloud apps. Develop and/or support them. You can support any apps you like, independently if you want.

  • I am in a small company that built a good, reliable cloud hosting infrastructure at a secure data center. To those crying "Big Brother" taking over your data: each customer has their own database, encrypted if desired, with logins/passwords they control and best practices security. If an employee were to access data and sell or leak it, they lose their job and go to jail, just as if one of your own IT employees did it. If the company did it it would soon be out of business as a hosting provider.

  • What if the cloud crashes? And most of the data in the common repository has been erased? Who will take the blame?

  • @nicegoodspeed1 Depends on SLA ...

  • @nicegoodspeed1 Whoever you contract with for your cloud-hosted services is responsible for your data security and protection/backup. You do due diligence and check that alll out first, just as you would with your own IT department or with any service offering. The good ones have unbelievable redundancy and backup - way beyond what you would have in-house.

  • @alanmuso ok. I'm in an IT industry and so far I really see how the Cloud computing will change the paradigm for Development in the future. I was just curious, does introducing Cloud Computing to the industry create more jobs for IT professionals or the other way around. From what I'm seeing, the customization will mostly be from the customer. Any thoughts on this?

  • check out Onlive.

    Best cloud computing service ever

  • Not a bad idea, but it's not going to replace regular software completely anytime soon.

  • @SomeRandomZeke Lets hope it will :)

  • Nothing wrong with the cloud concept. No reason large companies can't use it in-house accessing through browsers. Heavens forbid that all their data and apps are on a public server along with other businesses. We may well be told that all security is in place and that there are virtual firewals separating businesses. Won't stop hackers, anouther juicy thing they like to hone their talents on. Hope the airforce one is in-house. Imagine the countries security being dependent on public servers.

  • @mirbooontarwin well u still can get private cloud ... or hybrid...

  • @jonyphoenix

We already have private clouds... they are called a LAN's.

  • Atention aux traductions!

  • Des opportunités çà fleurit yen a plein c la merde parce que chacun dans son coin çà craind et c'est tout çà met longtemps on dirait une histoire qui continue que nous connaissons bien!... Ya une expression pour çà!

  • Cloud computing would be a menace to privacy. My data, or my business's data, should be kept between me and my business. Not me, my business, and my cloud provider.

I don't trust my ISP, my government, or software companies to keep my information private. Why should i trust cloud providers?

  • @1blackice1

Oh yeah and don't forget that if anything happens it's not just YOU and your company who can't access what you need in order to conduct business, but EVERY company... just sitting there with their thumbs up their butts.

Not to mention it's creating a one-stop-shop for hackers who can simply target a single resource.

Might work well for low level home consumer stuff (where sensitive data isn't involved), but I wouldn't trust it for business.

  • @1blackice1 Go with trust. Cos paranoia can eat you up!

  • very fine explanation

  • POLICE STATE: Cloud Computing to Destroy Internet Freedom ...

    watch?v=eEEwmpScMp4

  • cloud is completely unnecessary, that the only intention is to control the internet, the society don't need cloud computing!!!!!!

  • @54markg Go read Dan Brown or something :D

  • so... i put the video of me singing jb music while drunk in the cloud for everybody to see... COOL!

  • google obviously is the master of this. they're the master of the interwebz.

  • OK it's clear.....you don't get it. Not even a little bit. By the way...do you realize you're using a cloud application right now? Youtube....it's in the cloud.....

  • @gbelsey I guess it's ok for youtube to have a common repository since the data/video uploaded was intended for public to see. Critical data from banks, confidential data from huge companies has no guarantees that their data will be protected. They don't know who will they chase if the servers will crash or hacked by someone.

  • Cloud computing is worse than stupidity. Richard Stallman.

It is the most useless thing that humans have ever invented.

  • this video is intended to small business , big corp do not need outside assistance , but i like this idea of the cloud but is a little too earlier to jump in head-on on to this thing , the thing that hits me is for some reason the cloud system crash down and lose everything , then who we going to blame ? who is responsible ? well good luck find one ! thats is what people are not thinking about it , but like always people goes after the government for help !

  • Fun, informative video, guys. Thanks!

  • cloud computing summarized: its a new buzz word for shared servers.

  • It's like plugging into the internet and simply having the apps supplied to you, as opposed to having them on your computer hard drive or on a company server. It's still a server and apps; just a shared one. The only thing you have on your computer is your personal settings and saved files; but not the software itself. They call it a "data center" but it's still a server. A better description would be to compare it to cable tv, since you pay a monthly subscription fee. Hope this helps. : )

  • uhhh... it's to complicated

  • Yeah I got the theoretical part but I need to have an indepth knowledge as to how exactly can this be implemented because technically it still doesn't make any sense to me. :/

  • yeah i dont get it either

  • ONE CLOUD, ONE BRAIN, ONE RACE.

  • how did you do this video ?

what is the tools you used ?

I know this is a strange question ! but I'm very interesting to know how

  • @mskaleia im 99.9% sure he used Adobe After Effects.

  • the video does not explain the disadvantages of cloud computing though

  • @MsH1h1h1h1 why would it? The vids made by salesforce. They want to sell you something.

  • @MsH1h1h1h1 Here's the biggest disadvantage: There will be less jobs for IT Technicians

  • I am in INSY 5375

  • In a time of recession this is what the collaboration of governmental organisations and private companies have found to sell your private information to big corporations to stimulate growth.

  • this probably is still better than my idea of vacuum computing...it sucks.

  • just 3 minutes,I got to know about cloud computing what I could not have done in 3 hours.Thats the power of video (visulisation and multimedia. Thanks a lot.

  • Thanks really helped out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great for all apps....business and consumer! Very cool.....

  • Vacuous pitch-words don't answer the question.

  • you don't get it??? get it...they are applying massive chemical to our atmosphere...they are using the chemical in combination with the satellites and haarp..yes this is the main intention of the chem trails...you got it now...they do not do anything without big money involved so look up and see the artificial clouds...this is what you pay for..poisoning us for money..he ha

  • Total Network Cost: $6,543.36

    Requests

    $0.01/per 10,000 GET and HEAD requests: $10.00

    $0.01/per 1,000 PUT/POST/GET bucket/GET service requests: $1.00

    Total Requests Cost: $11.00

    Grand Total: $14,782.20

that was just a sample of googles' oh so easy to follow pricing chart, anyone get that?

  • Storage 1TB (1024GB) at $0.13/per GB: $133.12 9TB (9216GB) at $0.12/per GB: $1,105.92 65TB (66560GB) at $0.105/per GB: $6,988.80 Total Storage Cost: $8,227.84 Network Americas and EMEA 1TB (1024GB) at $0.12/per GB: $122.88 9TB (9216GB) at $0.11/per GB: $1,013.76 15TB (15360GB) at $0.08/per GB: $1,228.80 Asia-Pacific 1TB (1024GB) at $0.21/per GB: $215.04 9TB (9216GB) at $0.18/per GB: $1,658.88 15TB (15360GB) at $0.15/per GB: $2,304.00 No charge for network ingress
  • Detailed Example

Pricing for this service is divided into tiers. For example, say for a given month, you have the following usage on top of the free trial quota:

    75 TB of data storage

25 TB of network egress (Americas and EMEA)

25 TB of network egress (Asia-Pacific)

    10 TB of network ingress

10,000,000 total GET and HEAD requests

    100,000 total PUT/POST/GET bucket/GET service requests

Your bill is broken down as follows:

  • be able to own and control your own data, and you will be charged for everything you do and you will also be tracked even more so than you are now, this is a nightmare and with the google laptop you can get 16tb of cloud storage for the low low price of 350$....per month!

they have other pricing but you have a better chance of figuring out how derivatives or credit default swaps work than understanding 2 words of their so called pricing structure

  • if you people only knew the agenda, they do elude to some of it in the video when they tell you you will "only be charged for what you use" sure this sounds great, wait till you get he bill,or wait till you say something they consider objectionable, this was all planned folks, apple and google are working as we speak to make it so their clouds wont be compatible with existing technology, they will make it so you have no abiltiy to have a hdd or to store or have any control of your data, you wont

  • cloud computing will be something all of us will regret letting happen if we dont stand up and voice opposition to it now ,it is being pushed by ibm, apple,MS,and google,it mans these companies will own and control all of your data and ideas and in effect you, they will have total control over your digital life, this is the computing equivalent of nazi germany, mark my words,it is being designed by these evil greedy corporation and it is to screw you to the enth degree ,not to help you

  • when cloud computing comes to the condumer it will be the death of us all, a scourge on humanity, its coming, dont say i didnt warn you, do you have any idea how dangerous cloud computing is?this is not a natural progression of technology it was planned all along, it has nothing to do with convenience, it has to do with control. controlling your data and controlling you, and controlling content, this is BS propaganda wake up people and learn the true agend behind the cloud

  • is that me or this guy has a voice of Bill Gates?

    good video.. :)

  • EXCELENTE VIDEO

    A bit off-topic comment:;

    --

Cloud computing, the death of actual ownership of media? centralizing data, rationing usage, eliminating anonymity? In other words, your computer is reduced to nothing but a terminal used to access something (a hard drive monolith).

They definitely want to show this as an inevitability. The top 1% suits that is.

  • I still don't know what the hell this cloud thing is! this video didn't help me for shit!

  • @danusty Instead of having all your software and hardware on location, you just log into someone elses (the cloud) and pay a monthly subscription.

  • who the fuck owns the servers? the government? if so then fuck that shit. this doesn't really explain stuff, its just a brief overview, i guess well have to wait till someone explains it?

  • Can anyone tell me, using which software this presentation was created??

  • @kanwarvikramsingh after effects, photoshop, and final cut, premier, or avid to cut it. industry motion graphic standards.

  • It may seem easier and more efficient for business but ...this is out sourcing a lot of IT people who handle on site servers and networks for the business. Aspiring to become a network administrator, I think cloud may be the future so I got to get into CLOUD to get a secure job.

  • yea i still dont get it...

  • @adudecalledjordan

That's okay! He said everything in a happy, uplifting tone. So you know whatever it is, you need it!

  • @adudecalledjordan You dont install programs on your hardisk. You install plugins to your browser that then runs the programs over a server.

Go play battlefield free2play, its cloud computing.

  • i was going to write the exact same thing... 'I STILL DONT GET IT' :-)

  • This sounds like a good idea and all but uh... now this just makes everything easier for hackers. You have so much less control.

  • cloud computing = internet computing

  • Stupid question possibly, but how do you pick one cloud "provider" over the other? (ie: Microsoft vs. IBM vs. Amazon) Do they all provide pretty much the same product (like for instance Comcast cable vs. Verizon Vios) or would you select a provider based on the industry you are in?

Thanks for answering my question Internetz!

  • its biased, what it doesn't mention is who else might have access to your data, who owns the data when its on their servers, what if they get a virus or lose all your data. as a business, would you REALLY trust a cloud computing company with ALL your precious data. it would only be a matter of time before some hacked in to one of their servers and leak all the data stored or worse

  • Lol!!...New Generation started, Hey IT-ians try to make cont(r)acts with all cloudians

  • Every amazing information regarding the Cloud Computing. These will help us a lot to get faster work with less of cost and can able to handle many app at a time.

  • so the people running the cloud apps rake in the money dozons of times over its the new microsoft.also its like putting all your money in the one pocket if,if you get hacked you get hacked big time,i myself like to have a choice of what apps i would like to use and own,not forced into using some modded data collecting shit thats asking to be hacked right there

  • So Cloud Computing only move complexity to other place.

  • This idea already exist 25 years ago, until now is release.

  • what a nice video.

  • I'm pretty sure we have this in the Air force already...

  • Comment removed

  • @dowopper51 you missed out, that lots of people will lose their jobs

  • woooow, now I know alot more about cloud computing

  • The truth is you still need lots of servers, so guess my job is safe ^_^.

  • Finally a video that actually explains could computing so anyone can understand it, thank you!

  • @kathrynpless

I know man, i work in IT some while now, at the datacenter. Still i couldn't find the real concept of cloud computing at first, but this video showed me how it go's. I am already working in such an envoirment, only not TRUE cloud computing though.

  • @kathrynpless I could understand what you're saying but I'd rather float on a cloud thanks

  • @kathrynpless Big Brother wants your info & will tell U it's expensive DIY so they can get it. for their use. It's like FB, upload a photo, right click photo, choose properties, it will say: "address (URL)" copy that, & paste to browser U'll see your photo alone. Delete Ur photo & go back to that direct link, it’s still be there. U gave it to FB when U posted & U no longer own it. They want with Ur business info, & plans 4 themselve, & you'll sign it away when you upload it to their servers.

  • a todos los que temeis por vuestra seguridad en la nube, conoced eyeOS (eyeos.org). El mejor escritorio en la nube, y la mejor solución para tener una nube privada!

  • Cloud computing will make it easy for the NSA/CIA to have access to your personal files.

  • Why do people assume that data on the cloud is less protected that the data on your own hard drive at home? That's like saying the money under your mattress is better protected than money in a bank vault. The whole cloud computing thing will stand or fall on consumer confidence. If there is seen to be bad security, no one will use it. Data protection would be top priority. I'm not saying it's un-hackable, but people commenting seem to think that data in the cloud will easily accessed by anyone.

  • Have you ever heard of a big business that accepts "apps" with the only customization required being changing the configuration? No. Big business always wants to tailor the "app" very specifically to their particular business model. That is why this idea doesn't work for software. Now, hardware (shared set of virtual hosts).... maybe.

  • ESO ES UNA GRAN ETAFA A ALARGO PLAZO LA EMPRESA DE CLOUD COMPUTING (GOOGLE) TENDRA TODA NUESTRA INFORMACION ALMACENADA EN SUS SERVIDORES , EN EL MOMENTO EN QUE GOOGLE LOS TENGA PUEDE HACER CUALKIER COSA QUE QUIERA Y NO TENDRA LA SEGURIDAD DE QUE NOS PERTENESCA, SE IMAGINAN TODA LA INFORMACION ALMACENADA EN GOOGLE QUE NOS HARA DEJAR DE USAR CUALKIER DISPOSITIVO DE ALMACENAMIENTO? ESO ES EL MONOPOLIO MAS ARIIESGADO AL QUE ESTAMOS EXPUESTOS YA QUE DE UN MOMENTO A OTRO PODRIA DESAPARECER LA INFO

  • thumbs up if you pee on the side of the toilet to make less noise

  • so..does we have d "privacy"?o.O

  • I would say this is only viable for private cloud. I would not risk our compliance and legal / financial data in a public shared cloud.

  • Comment removed

  • There's pros and cons to this and facts. Pro's; Creates jobs for security experts, create jobs in other areas. Con's; Anyone could hack and decrypt the data and find out anything. Facts; This is the future.

  • This sounds like bad satire.

  • In my line of sight i can use 2 words to describe this new tech: PRIVACY LOST... In the day that all pcs had to run from the cloud, ill go back to stone age and wont touch a pc....

  • But who runs the cloud???

  • This video is arrogant in so many ways. I personally wouldn't worry about this "revolutionary" idea of cloud computing. It really has proven unpopular so far with consumers, which from a company perspective is bad business. What's the point if consumers are going to hate it? While I see the applications for businesses internally, the dream-like notion of marketing it to ordinary people has to end. In the end it just looks gimicky.

  • I love how everyone is saying that this'll kill IT jobs XD That is so untrue! See, this will actually OPEN UP the IT business because there's a massive need for software researchers. IT used to cost too much for certain companies to invest in Software and Application Development. Now, instead of IT jobs dying off, there'll be a boom. Trust me. I'm an Economist.

  • @lifeofanidiot Sounds like you're working for the company that runs this show lol.

  • @adam120890 Hah, I wish. I work for ParMar Convenience stores as a financial advisor.

  • Concerned for privacy issues.

  • @lAuthenticl I have intelligent friends, concerns go beyond privacy? I knew this day would come. I hear comments daily over cloud. cococat195 should go to the beach, mountains? Genius, progress, Didn't Einstein build the bomb? My bad everyone. I was born circa 1958, ride around, listen I do?

  • @lAuthenticl Privacy is a factor. If and when this " cloud computing " is rolled out to the public, it will be easy to see how the developers plan to crypt and secure data, until then we'll just have to wait.

  • Excellent, crisp and clear explanation about what cloud computing is for lay people (like me who are somewhat technologically challenged). Thanks!

  • WOo0ooOoOooOW!! GREAT ANIMATION! :)

  • @GameplayTriGGlety Set up your own server for cloud computing service... Wow, you just got a new job: )

  • ppl, no matter what u say, cloud computing is a genius idea nd its gonna grow exponentially. nd if u haven't noticed, most companies r already using it. so those stiff jackets that wanna inhibit progress can just go boil their head.

  • You can embrace cloud computing while still using local PCs. DriveHQ Cloud IT service makes the transition to cloud extremely easy.

  • fuck that shit anybody could hack that shit dont you get it shared data storage easy shit gaaay id rather have my own server

  • Really cool movie! I like it. I definitely going to use it in college

  • yes we call this cloudcpt

  • and who is going to control the Cloud in 20 years from now GOOGLE & MICROSOFT why ? small businesses don't have chance 0:59 Welcome to IT my friend :)

  • it is clouding! i didnt get what it is all about....

  • background noise sucks

  • So its like a nodal baseline where lot many companies share the same source...But one good feature is that in cloud each of the companies can do its own customization as opposed to a shared baseline source code where the upgrades go to each of the companies using it...Please correct me if wrong...Trying to understand it

  • i dont get it ._.

  • Great clip and the "Cloud" looks great; regards.

  • What?

  • LOL! Servers are now called "clouds". A new name doth not a new idea make. So called cloud computing is the past, not the future. Servers are and will always be a means of data transfer between an individual's device kit and other individual's device kit.

And business? They will simply count our device kits as part of our "skill set" that qualifies us for a job. They will parasitically use our device kit and use hardware to store our work. Each of us will be our own IT. THAT's the future!

  • Check out a company called Abiquo: Follow them on twitter at #abiquo

Unlike other cloud products that were built as tactical solutions to support a specific hypervisor technology, Abiquo was developed from a strategic top-down perspective, to allow customer environments to both fully deliver on the promises of virtualization, and to transition geographically disparate datacenter installations and third party hosted resources, into a fully managed enterprise cloud operating at a global scale.

  • Christian: Where do I find GOD ?

Priest: He's in the CLOUD !!!!!!!!!!!!!

watch?v=smVs6GU6Is4 - funny story about gods, war and peace -

  • @moonknightTL What about Muslims? O wait your afriad to offend them.

  • Just another way for jobs to be cut in the u.s. as cloud computing can be self managed.

  • stop feel smug. cloud won't last long. it's NOT the future. it KILLS the future.

  • so basically, it;s like individual healthcare compared to socialist healthcare.

you give away part of your file to a common source in order to be able to hold more of those files.

  • Great video that explains cloud computing and will help people to decide, where they should go!

  • I think one day, Omniprise is definitely going to give them a run for their money. After I looked at both ERP's, Omniprise clearly had a much easier to use, organized interface, that ran about TWICE as fast.

  • Great video that explains cloud computing and helped me to understand what it is all about to possibly help my business.

  • Very nice video. I think Cloud Computing is really cool, but only for business's and people who want a fast computer. I think regular people should stick with regular computers with a hard drive. I don't trust anyone with my personal information.

  • nice work................

  • this is going to kill IT jobs. guess i better change my major while i can.

  • @LivefromtheCHF There will NEVER be a shortage of demand for people that know systems. Keep on it.

  • so true!

  • @LivefromtheCHF Don't be silly. Unless you are dead set on being a server administrator. This will actually create many more jobs.

  • @LivefromtheCHF Not much chance of that. Most organisations have very customised software requirements. In 25 years I've yet to come across an off the shelf application that fits the customers requirements. Theer are a whole range of other issues regarding data access, data quality and network performance that will hold this back.

  • @LivefromtheCHF I don't think so. This is for businesses and whatnot and if that small business owner knows what they hell they are doing, I'm sure IT will still be safe. If anything, technology is going to be in demand from now on until forever, there is no way IT will die lol.

  • Is this the same thing or does it go along with whatever it is which makes it where say you have a labtop that uses the power of your home computer or whoever you're paying?

  • Very good video. I finally understood what's Cloud Computing.

  • Comment removed

  • nyc work...I hv just understood cloud computing in less than 4 minutes....well articulated and the graphics? NICE!

  • What software did you guys used to create this fantastic video?

  • Bonfire Labs used primarily Adobe After Effects and Autodesk Maya.

  • Brilliant well articulated

  • Not bad encourageing
