But Revelation 20 1-6 it clearly talks about the 1000 years. so "the people" might be liars but the bible clearly determines that there will be a 1000 years that the devil will be locked away. and as far as the rapture being a "lie", in 1 Thessalonians chpt.4 verse 17 it says "..we who are alive and are left will be caught up together with them. We should all be willing to die for Christ and our belief in his word although I will not get into the many interpretations of the book of Revelation because it says everyone who reads it will be blessed and those who add to it shall be cursed.
