ofcourse im pump to see this movie, but from a technical aspect, video games have been using motion cap for a long time. perhaps its revolutionary for film, but from a technical standpoint, its nothing brand new or innovative.
It is not the same. The "mo cap dots" are used but only for refrence. They havent had a camera get a full 3d peftect image of their face before. Just trust us, when you see the movie, you will see. They just invented this, and it is being used for TinTin now.
@lightwave000 yea i know, ive seen the making of. what i mean is motion capture itself, isnt brand new. the WAY they are using it perhaps is new. i woudlnt call it revolutionary yet. maybe an EVOLUTION would be more correct. that being said, i saw the movie yesterday and it was amazing. very epic on the scale of lord of the rings. the battles were better than anything in starwars. i was truly impressed and astonished.
Great Interview. And yep The detail is incredible in Avatar Day. THe footage is 5 times more incredible than Jurassic Park, SWs or Raiders during moviegoers first experience of the above.
I kid you not its miles above Titanic, LOTR and everything.. I mean your on the freaking planet.!
I have never been so excited to go to the THEATRE to see a movie since the Blair Witch Project which is pretty ironic. Pandora will be pure beauty on the big screen that will blow you away, the footage so far is very stunning. James Cameron has proven over & over that he knows how to do just that. SCI FI ain't real right, but when he's directing it is. Realism is the key. This tech was used in The Polar Express w/ Tom Hanks if I ain't mistaken, but not nearly as improved.
I am referring to things popping out at the audience (gimmicky)- Its fine here and there but in this case, Cameron is not trying to remind you that you are watching a 3d movie but rather use it as a tool to tell the story.
Forgive me for being a NEEEERD but the music from the trailer is by John Murphy (from 28 Weeks Later, if I remember right), not James Horner. But good review!
Umm... lol I hope you like the big gils n don't mind being looked down at by them cuz thy're like 10 12ft tall lol but agreed the Na'Vi femals look sweet
Wow, thank you.. I emidiatly liked you guys.. I wish i had a brother that was so into Avatar and probably movies in general. I cant wait for the movie. It calmed me down a little seeing this video, because that trailer really got some beating by trolls and stuff. I am really pumped, and i will sleep out for days to get tickets for the movie! Bye :)
James Cameron is the man and my hero along with Stan Winston! Terminator 1-2 and Aliens! Come on the man rocks and always seems to revolutionize the action and science fiction genre! Avatar looks amazing! Woooo and its NOT a fucking shitty remake! Yeah! :)
I do absolutely agree about the disappointing Trailer, i do absolutely agree on the absolute awesome and overwhelming footage, but the Comment about Pixar-Crap 3d only shows, that you've never seen "Up" in Digital 3d, because if you would have seen it, you would know that they exactly didnt do that. They didnt go on cheap effects but did use it in a very subtle way.
Up wasn't bad. I did see it. It was still gimmicky but it had a good story. But its geared more for children. You have things popping out at you on screen. Its a totally different experience. Hopefully you latch on to what Im trying to get across
UR Right, james cameron is holding back big time...
James Cameron said that the render Technology has improved since they started production. James cameron said that the new renders their getting back now look stunning. He also said that no one has seen these scenes yet...
The music that was on the website before the trailer was put up was part of the theme by James Horner. This theme was also played during the sequence when Sigourney Weaver was setting Jake up to transfer his mind to the Avatar in the Lab in the Imax footage. The music in the trailer was cool and went with it but Im mostly referring to the video we saw at Imax. Thanks
Yo dude's nice job! First proper vid on the 15 minute stuff I like it. One thing I wanna know does the movement of the Na'vi seem mechanical like dreamworks/pixar shit or does it actually move smoothly like us humans. Peace! p.s. To all the haters! This Mo'vi (you see what I did thar :P) is going to PWN! PEACE
They move completely realistic. Only the trailer made me think that might be otherwise-when I saw it on the big screen my worries were put to rest. I am actually sold on the design of the Avatars and Na'vi now. Only takes a minute and you are sold. Nothing like it before
Hey nubs where's part 2 Already!? ^^ I love 7:45 "The cg was INCREDIBLE, it was so much better, which leads me to keep wondering, did they purposefully dumb down the trailer?" Gief part 2 kkplxthxbai! :D
i watch your videos just for you......you're cute.

I don't like the fact that they have three fingers, that's not nearly threatening enough.
Oh and the music in that trailer wasn't from the soundtrack.

Not because of the hype but because of the suck.
