I prefer girls who are light skinned or very dark. I mean 10 x darker than Naomi Campbell. Its not ALWAYS about eurocentricism, although it's the most plausible explanation when you figure so many people ONLY like light skin or white skin in their preferred partners. Where I'm from, I notice how opposites attract. Light-skin hook up with dark-skinned. I married a dark man who wanted a light-skin wife so his children would be brown. We have 11 children and most are brown. One is lighter than me and one is darker than him. My darker-skinned daughter was in her teens before I realized people might make fun of her because of this. I can relate to what you're saying, though I'm not African American... We have the same kind of thing happening in India too... I'm from South India, and South Indians are usually darker than North Indians... When I was in Dubai, I studied in a school full of North Indians, and I was made fun of a lot for my skin colour... people were generally friendly, but they thought that racist jokes were funny - though I didn't find them funny at all... especially when they got carried away with it...

I've spent way too much on fake tan and it was only when I did a hair modelling photo shoot that I was complimented on my very white skin. I have done a lot of other promotional work for several companies and all instruct that you must use fake tan. Racist as far as I'm concerned. I prefer girls who are light skinned or very dark. I mean 10 x darker than Naomi Campbell. Its not ALWAYS about eurocentricism, although it's the most plausible explanation when you figure so many people ONLY like light skin or white skin in their preferred partners. Where I'm from, I notice how opposites attract. Light-skin hook up with dark-skinned. I married a dark man who wanted a light-skin wife so his children would be brown. We have 11 children and most are brown. One is lighter than me and one is darker than him. My darker-skinned daughter was in her teens before I realized people might make fun of her because of this. But as far as looks go, they come and go with time... can always be changed with surgery (so long as you go to the right professionals) and honestly looks are so superficial. At least for most people after around 25 when maturity finally starts to set in.

I can relate to what you're saying, though I'm not African American... We have the same kind of thing happening in India too... I'm from South India, and South Indians are usually darker than North Indians... When I was in Dubai, I studied in a school full of North Indians, and I was made fun of a lot for my skin colour... people were generally friendly, but they thought that racist jokes were funny - though I didn't find them funny at all... especially when they got carried away with it...

I've spent way too much on fake tan and it was only when I did a hair modelling photo shoot that I was complimented on my very white skin. I have done a lot of other promotional work for several companies and all instruct that you must use fake tan. Racist as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad that you raised your self esteem. You are handsome and there are 'ignant' folks throughout the world. The funny thing is that many in the black community don't realize that the color complex is international, going as far Asia (including China, India and the spin off countries/islands), various parts of Europe, etc. You're smart & have your future ahead of you. Try not to feed the trolls that come your way. They'll eventually scurry away and try to feed/fuel their misery elsewhere. ;)

this is true alot of black people look down on darker skin black people I was so insecure of mine I tried bleaching once but I've learned to love myself. But my mom is so obsessed with it that whenever i have been in the sun too long she feels the need to comment on it. But your right it is white people that started the whole thing. The hardest person to love in this world is yourself once you've got that down you have no problem loving others

the light skin vs dark skin debate is bad in the black community even within black families. we are black people why do we discriminate against eachother. alot of it is colonial mentality/self-hate but its mainly ignorace. as aka brown skin black man who who has family members who are darker and lighter i think its stupid. darker blacks get it the worse and anyone who denies this is lying. anyway as a black man fighting racism and colorism you dont fight it with racism you fight wit knowledge

Light skinned people are as beautiful as dark skinned. I am light-skinned and i did have a relationship with a dark-skinned guy. Beauty is really inside after all...
