I may not have liked this movies as far as its story & acting are concerned, though it had won several awards for other aspects. The scenic beauty was quite great. Truely one thing cannot be denied & stands out, it reveals the true genius in John Barry in its sound track. You won't get any better serene musical theme than this. Simply loved this theme & will do it forever.

This music was performed under the funeral of my belowed wife throuhgout 42 years of marriage. Crying when writing this. It brings back so much of emotions and memories as she and I met at the age of 14, and now she died the 21. of august 2011, almost reaching the age of 63, from braincancer. So I have encountered this little piece of poem:

I know this is terrible, but I went 41 years of my life without seeing this movie. I felt that it was probably dumb and only idiots like it. It is a fantastic theme, did you see this masterpiece in theaters as a kid too? i was 9 years old when i saw it and one of my first westerns i saw. Costner deserved everything even if Goodfellas lost but both are great films from 1990. You should check out Broken Arrow (1950 with Jimmy Stewart).

John Barry recently died and how sad that he did....he has been one of my favorite composers for many years. Dances With Wolves, Out of Africa, Indecent Proposal and so many more. His music reaches in and just grabs your heart. I think you might have to be made of stone to not get emotional when you listen to his music.

This song was played during a the news broadcast (off and on for about 13 days), as they showed video of an officer down police procession and of special memories displayed of the officer at the memorial service. Was so moving!!

The officer's first name was John (John's Theme) and the name he went by was "Kevin". My heart aches every time I hear this song. (he was my 26 year old son)
