  • I hope things pick up for you

  • maybe another way you can get free stuff is to get sponsors to supply your gardening needs ie; seeds, soil, garden tools chicken varieties for your coup, mulch for you to experiment with. Please don't stop. The book sounds awesome. Maybe get a writing job in the newspaper or magazines. I'm sure your you tube subscriptions would be enough proof of your ability.

  • Your so optimistic on life..:)Its great! Its a pleasure to watch your videos for sure...whats your new wedsite URL.?

  • I've just been made redundant after 26 years at a company so I am feeling the full pinch of the economy and the shock of job loss so I know what you are going through. Like you stay, stay strong mate.

really enjoy your videos as I have just started up my own small square foot garden project in the back garden. All the best.

  • Once I planted a garden, and I said to myself, "I want to have this garden feed me when times are hard." When the garden grew to harvest, times were hard for me. Another time I planted a garden, and when I planted it, I remembered the last garden and how that didn't work, then I thought to myself, "I want to plant this garden to feed myself and others and still have lots left over." When the harvest came, that is exactly what happened. Plant harvests with the best thoughts. It works.

  • I began watching one of your videos (the bread) and you were so excited! I thought, "he's such a sweet guy! patting his first loaf of bread:) " I wanted to look for one of your garden videos to watch, instead, this one caught my eye.

My heart aches for you Christian. You are walking through the nightmare we all fear so much! Your bravery is apparent:) You appear to be a very smart man! I look forward to hearing what you decide to do! Wishing you all the best!

    BOP

  • just an idea but if you got alot of land, why not grow organic produce (tomatos, peppers, chillis and the like) im sure you could turn it into a huge success if the demand is right in your area, mabe turn out to be one of the biggest most successful suppliers in the country! who knows!

or even breed animals or something?

good luck and hope it all pans out in the end, hear you're making a book? ill buy it!

    gimme gimme gimme! :)

  • hi Christian, can you tell us where you are on google maps? i put in victoria australia, and rangers, and looked around your area, is it near matheus rd? have you got an area code?

i really hope things work out for you and the smallholding is ok, best wishes Eileen

  • Christian, I'm really sorry about your situation. I hope things improve for you soon. I've found your videos really helpful and would love to buy your book. Has it been published yet? I've been wanting to ask you about growing bell peppers. Do they need pruning like tomatoes? I hope you can keep the farm. You come across as a really genuine, nice guy and you deserve a break. Best wishes for the future.

  • yeah ive been there and it can be worrying, hope everything works out ok for you christian, something will turn up, id buy your book if you wrote one?

  • Well I sure know what you're going through..i just got sacked a couple months ago...luckily here in the states we have unemployment insurance and underemployment insurance where if u get cut back they pay u the difference for awhile til u can get a better job. Only thing is if u get sacked u have to wait 8 wks before u can qualify..i call it the starving out period, lol..but things are sure bad all over i guess. Recession in usa.. good luck!!

  • go check out robert menard and earthicastar vids on youtube. if you know enough you will be able to get an allodial title or quiet claim. then with the mortgage-you wont have to pay!

  • Christian I'm a bit confused. This COOP it is for persons to get free food right? To me & I'm just saying but when my head is going under water if my family is beside I'll try save them. However I'm not going to swim an ocean for the guys next door. As a small holder & trying to make money I feel you are against mega corp, so: farmers markets, restaurants especially fancy types are very open at times to well grown produce. That is what you offer better produce: fresh, taste, texture, color.

  • Ever considered working part time at a plant nursery?

  • Thanks for the encouragement. I hope you find something soon. You are so gifted I know something will come through for you soon. You stay encouraged as well. God will open a door for you. Thanks for all your great videos and being so unselfish in sharing your knowledge.

  • Wish you the best. Your heart seems to be in the right place with all this. I think in hard times we all get creative and resourcful and if your heart is in it you will succeed =]

  • I wish you all the best ,hope it all works out. i have lost the lot before, and now my family and i are just on our feet it has taken time but you do get there.

So hang in you will get there

  • You should get another part time job to fill in the hours that you've lost, it couldn't hurt could it?

  • I'm right there with you. I was fired 3 months ago and am not on my feet yet. It's tough, but what are you gonna do? Joe Dirt says it best "Just got ta keep on keepen on".

  • Yup, last thing would do is leave a farm in these times. Dont pay your morgage and after 3 months negotiate a better price.

  • Life is the best teacher. God bless.

  • Over here in the West, the word "scheme" is used to describe something untrustworthy, fly-by-night, etc. Another good S-word might be "system". But I'm sure you've already thought of that, disregard me. :)

  • I hope the web site is up soon, I would join up, as would many of your fan's here in the state's. I like the book idea as well. Maybe a on line subscriber based monthly we could add articles as subscribers, via your approval naturally.

  • Hope you get another job and don't lose your farm. :)

  • There are many people who would love to live off the land but can't afford to start up maybe you could rent a room to some one make a few hundred and have some help and company out there. God Bless

  • Stupid recession!!

  • I remember when we went through the recession in the 70's, this is bad. I got a feeling you will land on your feet.

  • 'the produce garden' has always been 'real' and the difficulties faced including the possible loss of the farm is another aspect of being in touch with what the rest of us face. Your 'take' and advise is welcome. 'the produce garden' can live on even without 'the farm'. I look forward to wherever you are taken. Being downsized and making the best of what I have and can do has been challenging but great too.

  • You are trying to help your community with the co-op. Good work doesnt go unnoticed. Have faith.

  • Mate - I can totally understand where you are at. As you know im in a similar situation. If you ever want to stay on the land you are welcome to come and stay with me. Wont cost you a cent and there is plenty of room here both in the house and on the land.

  • Hang in there ! Wishing you all the best and believing in you that you can make these projects all happen. Shine on !

  • Take in others who are like-minded and will help you financially to keep the land thriving :)

  • Yup, that's a fantastic idea. Living with other people sucks, we all know it...but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. The big picture is keeping the farm...having people there splitting rent/mortgage payments would only be temporary, so keep that in mind..also having a few extra helping hands would probably make some of the projects go alot faster.

  • Feck

  • Hang in there my friend. It will all work out for the best. Have faith in God and He will see ya through.

  • I am so sorry to hear about your financial troubles. I hope your new website and the co-op go well for you. And I will pray that you don't loose your small holding.

Your gardening videos have helped me tremendously and I consider you a friend.

    God bless,

    Angi, aka Bookhound63

  • Aww damn! Sorry to hear that my friend.. :(

You've gained some valuable skills, where ever God see's fit to put you, I think you will thrive, and adapt. What we have learned trying to develop self sustainability, you are going to be a very good asset to any one you may potentially come into contact with in the future. Don't fret, the way we approach these obstacles is the defining point in building character, I feel sometimes, situations force us to grow as the need arises. Gob bless! :)

  • you do seem calm though, and hopefully things will work out...

  • I hope everything works out for you!

  • Man that sucks! I hope for the best!
