I think only a little softmachine-ish. The tonal material always consist from a root on a minor7th chord..and jaming on it..(to achieve "the Softmachine-effect").what did and do so many crossover bands. Anyway, I like that (young) ensemble here...The violinist sounds like a Daryl Way solo while he was in Wolf or Curved Air (another familar hint to Softmachine)
