I'm a man and don't wear one, but Ladies that do wear a covering remove it in front of their families. It simply covers their modesty from the those that they are not related to.

Frankly, I think the covered women are more attractive.

I wouldn't put my women in burqas, I would want them in less restrictive clothing that allows them to do their chores, but I understand the urge to keep the woman covered.

The old order protestant sects here keep the women covered, all but the face. They are much more attractive that way.

Hello Muslims, I have a question that perplexes me !!!

Suppose I want to marry a muslim woman who is fully covered. How can I know if she is going to attract me sexually if I can't see what she looks like or have any intimate contact with her before actually marrying her ?

first you would have to be muslim...then you would have to talk it over with her family...and if there seems you might have a chance the two of you are permitted to look at each other to see if there is any physical chemistry.

intimate contact sexually is a no no! as far as seeing her there are many ppl who talk about a hadith, when the Prophet peace be upon him says to look at her (meaning her face) to make sure you are pleased. Not in those exact words but play around with google a bit and you should be able to find the answer.......

Indeed the Burqa is a tragic violation of Women's rights in the name of some peoples' perception of religion. It's a sort of portable prison, where the wearer is innocent of any crime. If a woman wishes to cover her hair and neck, then I respect her freedom to do so, but to be made to hide completely is horrific.
