  • to bad you got to carry it unloaded.. so whats the point ?

  • @akaknocksville Who that hell carries around unloaded guns?

  • @snatale1 ever hear of 12031e check ?

  • @akaknocksville No, but I googled it. Looks like that only exists in Commiefornia. I assure you here in VA and any other state I've lived, worked, or carried in via reciprocity when I open carry, it's loaded! If not you might as well carry a bag of hammers to throw at people.

  • I think its a great idea to carry a gun there as well as most other places. Some people just don't understand and they need to be quiet.

  • You just have to love the news spin on things.

"you may notice someone next to you with a GUN."

"they feel that they need to FLAUNT their weapons."

So that sound bite was added after recording the news article. Now it sounds as if Snyder and Stollenwerk FLAUNT their weapons. Way to use the first amendment to smear the second.

  • good to see someone excerciseing the right of open carry!

  • that girl is an Idiot with a capital I

  • Comment removed

  • I don't think peace loving people should be able to carry weapons in restaurants. What if nothing happened and he ate his meal in peace and didn't bother anyone? What if he paid his bill, left an appropriate tip and then went home to watch his favorite TV show? We can't let decent, law abiding people do things like this. It's terrible.

  • Stupid young bimbo!

  • What always comes to my mind about this issue, is the VT shootings... if just one person could have legally been carrying, that could have stopped it.. this wasn't a Jihad, or a racists killing.. this was a nutcase with a gun.

The very type that we should be a allowed to defend Ourselves Against...

Limiting citizens access to firearms only increases Govt oppression, it does not deter crime...

  • i like how they interview the stupid 18 year young girl. gee, i wonder if shes a brain washed lib? or how the liberal media newscaster intros the story as if gun owners are nuts for trying to protect themselves. if a shootout happens in the area of a lib like these people, dont waste your ammo to protect them! let them hand the bad guy a "no guns "sign instead. see how it works out for the fuckin idiots.

  • Yeah, I see a guy sitting on the sidewalk rodded, so now I go up to him and 'object,' right?

  • It's way too late.....states like NY, NJ and Mass don't have the 2nd ammendment right. If the goverment can do 3 states than thy'll find a way to do all 50 states. Americans are giving away their freedom with a smile, soon America will be a Police state where freedom is only a myth.

  • @Redcaster916 lol your to high lololololol

  • Shannon and the governor...lol...

  • Maybe fellow customers didn't object because they thought they'd be shot. :)

  • i agree if you are allowed to carry open/concealed with/without a permit legally...do it its your right...if doing so deters one bad guy then it works....look at floridas crime rate compared to most other states. florida is pro gun state.

guns dont kill people....people kill people.

why take guns away from law abiding citizens....guns have 2 enemies rust, and politicians.

  • "someone at the table next to you with a GUN"

    "Permit carrying gun owners"

"they feel like they need to flaunt their weapons"

I hate reporters/journalists who dramatize, blow out of proportion, or just plain don't research.

The Commonwealth of Virginia is an open carry state. There are no laws in Virginia that prohibit open carry of a gun, except in a few circumstances. "Permit holders" are those with a Concealed Handgun Permit issued by one's local circuit court.

    And we DON'T "flaunt".

  • Mine is a 44 auto mag,with a RPG attachment......I get NO TROUBLE !!!!

  • I didn't say gun owners are wannabe cops. Just the website that these guys are affiliated with.

  • Self defense? Sorry, guy, but that gun's gonna make you the shooter's first target.

  • wrong! Way wrong!

  • Most gun owners are not wanna-be cops; There just practicing there right... If you don't practice your constitutional right, you lose it...Citizens are just not used to it.

  • She is 18 years old and too stupid to answer such a question.

  • @nitrovic wannabe cops?ididnt know guns were invented for cops

  • Thank you for posting this!

    MWD

  • If you ppl in Northern Virginia don't like our gun laws, go back to NY.

  • is the point of the law to make it easier for a crook to rob or murder in a place that serves alchohol.??

if alcohol present = no guns......

even a dumb crook can figure that one out...

  • great reply navyguy0115, I gave you a thumbs up for your post, its only these anti- gun idiots that don't want guys were alcohol is served, hey a bar is a great place to drink and have fun, until you get a criminal nut case walking right up there not carrying about the no gun law and then goes on to be a nut case in the bar, so then, wheres you protectin then, oh wait, ya had to leave it behind, cause you weren't allowed to carry, how ironic

  • When seconds count....police are only minutes away...

  • Awesome. Good stuff.

    There is nothing to fear.

I more people fear accountability and responsibility.

  • Wait you mean Americans with guns are not terrorist's?

  • quick someone call the waaaaaaaaahhambulance

  • Screw Faux news. John Donvan from ABC didn't accuse us of "flaunting" anything.

  • In Kentucky guns are not allowed in bars. This does not apply to restaurants that serve alcohol. Guns and alcohol just do not mix so I understand the reason for the thinking on that. Open carry is legel in Kentucky. I have a CCDW mostly because I do not want to call attention to myself. Certainly in certain circumstances I could see myself open carrying.

  • I don't see why the shopping center would object, it is not going to make less people come, and moreover, it makes for a safer environment. Criminals can be dumb as dirt, but they usually have enought sense of self preservation to not rob a place that is filled with armed patrons.

  • ...and that my friend is the exact point. Nobody will rob a place filled with armed people. I love your name.

  • you cant trust cops either

  • The supreme court says otherwise...

  • A cop does not have to protect you....that means if you die 9 miles away you can sue because they didn't protect you. It's what the supreme court says.

  • A patrol car can only go so fast. I live 10 minutes from the barracks at normal driving speed. When a man called and threatened to come kill us the cops showed up. 45 minutes AFTER the guy had already left. He DID have a gun, but did not pull it out of his pants. when questioned the police said "we had other stuff going on" bull-shit! ive had cops leave off from giving me a ticket because a fire alarm was going off in town. they didnt want to respond

  • I know attacks happen in seconds, that's why I carry concealed

  • It's already illegal to carry while intoxicated, JUST LIKE IT IS FOR DRIVING. Should you have to turn your car keys in when dining at a place that serves alcohol, "just in case" you decide to drink and drive?

I carry concealed in VA, but when I go into restaurants I have to reveal my firearm to comply with state law. It hasn't caused any problems, but why make me jump through hoops and flash my firearm to patrons when I ALREADY KNOW that its illegal to carry while intoxicated?

  • Man, I can't wait til I'm 21 to get a handgun :D

  • You can get one at 18. It just has to be a private sale or gift: not a purchase from a federally licensed dealer. At least, that's the way it is in most states. Not sure where you're located though. The vid above is about Virginia, and that's the way it is here.

I'm under 21, and have a handgun. I can also legally open carry. I just can't get a CHP.

  • I'm in NoVA, actually. After I posted my comment, I found a forum that said what you just told me, lol. I'm already thinking of a couple places to open carry ;)

  • They are called "Law Enforcement" for a reason. Their job is to enforce the laws. We don't call them "Protectors and Servents".

  • @sailor628 Most "law enforcement" have taken protect and serve off their cruisers they have no interest in that. There are no more peace officers they all left long ago and took honor with them. law enforcement today are glorified revenue collecting thugs and nothing more we neither need them nor should we tolerate them!

  • You don't get it.

    Attacks happen in seconds.

You won't have time to call the cops.

    Think about it.

  • amen, wait for a cop for 5 mins, or draw and shoot in 1 and a half seconds. out of those which situation would you think u live, #2

  • With an empty chamber is the safest way to carry a 1911 - safest for the criminals.

  • @eotmaj sounds like someone never heard of a israeli draw

  • That was a dumb girl. She would be uncomfortable if she sees a gun which means it is not concealed and, therefore, legal. She's perfectly fine around concealed weapons then.

  • 1911s need to have the hammer back (cocked) to engauge the safety.

  • cocked and locked is the only way to safely carry a 1911 you stupid cunt.

  • Um...It's illegal to concealed carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol. You did watch the video right?

  • Does Panera even serve alcohol????

  • When are people going to get it that the Police have no legal obligation to protect individual citizens?

As an american its your responsibility to protect yourself and family.

  • "...law enforcement officers have no affirmative duty to provide such protection..." - South v. Maryland, 1856

"...there is no Constitutional right to be protected by the state against being murdered by criminals or madmen." - Bowers v. DeVito, 1982

Ding ding... another person who doesn't know the law.

I have to admit, I did not know that a 1911 needed to have the hammer back to be on safe. I was worried about that til I read the comments.

An un-exercised right is a lost right.

  • You're absolutely right, JECOLTM4. In fact, just in case you're not aware, the most recent U. S. Supreme Court ruling regarding the police having no legal obligation to protect individual citizens is the Castle Rock V. Gonzales case. The high court made its ruling about this case on June 27, 2005.

  • That 21-year old girl is exactly the brightest bulb in the box.

  • Oh wait a minute - she's only 18! She has no place in a bar anyway.

  • That guy is awesome.

  • Flaunting? Typical spin.

  • @pringelsfan007 That reporter needs to look up the word flaunting.

  • Oh no a law-abiding citizen openly-carry a gun! Somebody call the police!! My. Synder is a role model for everybody who believes in the second amendment. Bravo.
