THE INTENT OF THE AMERO IS TO LOWER THE US STANDARD OF LIVING CLOSER TO MEXICOS, BRING MEXICOS CLOSER TO CANADAS, AND LET CANADA RUN THE SHOW. MARK MY WORDS.
It's why we'll eventually take over the world with our awesomeness and work-place-related-accident-zombies.
I assume you're an American. I have only one thing to say: for an American to be saying that Canadians take anything overboard is like a Scottish person saying the French have an awful diet.
@KimdraElliottVoelkel yay indeed. Mexico, US & Canada one big nation using our own currency Amero. So we can all go overboard together! and the only good thing about that is that I get to see awkward Canadian commercials on my tv set. finally
I don't know what era you're living in, but that debate is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy over. They're not gonna do it. Whatever website you read that on, check the bottom; it usually contains the date it was written lol.
But, noooooo, I'd rather be fucked twice over by Saturn than become part of America, sorry, but Canadians are Americanized enough... the world is... but you guys are fucked up. No offense to you specifically... the only country that's more fucked up is Japan.
@KimdraElliottVoelkel no debate on that issue. In Georgia in the US there are two stones that were put there by an unknown person under the pseudonym RC Christian on June 1979 called the "Georgia Guidestones" (google it). they list a set of ten guidelines in EIGHT different languages. You know what one of the guidelines are? "Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court." One religion one language one currency. that is the goal. but dont worry i'll protect u :)
@Draenix572 There are a whole selection of these videos, a retail one where she's on a ladder, a warehouse one where a shelving unit falls down etc. If you lived here you'd have seen all of them on tv. Regardless of your career they get you thinking about things that could happen in your workplace, and the idea is to get you to prevent them from ever happening by contacting the government. There are laws and they need to know who is breaking them in order to enforce them.
@kartoffel13 Work place safety and injury prevention. In Canada our government has laws for employers and workplaces to follow to provide a safe working environment for employees and they enforce these laws. Do they not do the same in Germany?
Her Breast and Pussy are fine; she'll still get married. Plus, she now gets to wear an awesome mask and gloves t be the mysterious chef who protects everyone from accidents and make some damn tasty food.
All resturant kitchen floors are designed to be slip resistant, especially towards oil. Employees are also required to always wear slip resistant shoes.
Since they were so intent on having as many horrible things happen at once, it could have done with lots of knives and cleavers falling into her and her setting on fire.
Wow these are pretty bad. I still think Ireland has the worst. Check out the one for speeding (yes, speeding) where the guy comes around a corner too fast, and a couple are kissing at a wall… the guy gets pinned into the wall and vomits blood into the girl's mouth.
@binkerrrrr If she hadn't been so preoccupied with herself and bragging about her fiance she might not have been strutting around like the cock of the walk putting others at risk! Thank God the whore didn't hurt anyone else!
commercials like this are a good start, but there needs to be more blood and gore!!! Like, i wanna see a guys head explode with his brains flying all over the place, now that is entrainment. blood is in us all, so why are you all scared of it... heck, it tastes good too, screw ketchup, i want some blood with my fries!
Even as a Canadian, I know that these are supposed to remind us to work in safe enviroments, but they show them too often I find, and it's always the same thing too.
seriously why can't we have more stuff like this here :T
yes it may be slightly morbid but damn does it get a good point across
lol I like to see a texting safety add where some kids get in accident and their bodies are thrown out of the car and the camera shows one kid dead and the other all mangled up screaming in pain : D
this actually happens because people dont have proper training. THIS IS BASIC FOOD SAFTEY!!!! It might be alittle too much...espesecially on TV...but it gets the point out that you should be paying attention, wear non-slip shoes, clean up spills and make sure people know that there is a spill on the ground by letting others know around you or letting someone stand there and let people know it's wet so that you can get cleaning supplies.
I'm a canadian and watched this long ago. I agree with dogon, we don't sugar coat it because it can happen and does happen. The reason why its so graphic is so that the point about knowing and identifying work hazards is a serious concern. When you see something at work that can potentially cause injury or accident, have it changed, because it's your right as an employee to have a safe place to work in and should always feel comfortable that something like this won't happen to you.
This is not an ad, it's a warning: Keep your working place tidy and clean and secure and it won't happen. Of course you are scared, but sometimes showing scary things can prevent more. In the third grade, my school (in 1998) in Germany showed a film about bicycle safety. The film topped it all: At the beginning the "teacher in the film" asked: "Where is Thomas?" In a flashback, they showed an road accident with a kid. Some seconds later: They've showed a funeral. I'll wear a helmet on a bike.
The commercial does get the message across and its quite ironic but i work in a hotel in Europe and a chef at our hotel recently scalded his arm as he avoided a passerby in the kitchen. He was carrying hot caramel. Geez and you thought being a chef was glamorous. I think Grapes should come on at the end of the ad and say " its a great deal at any price". lol no seriously though i would be really upset if i saw something like that.
@sakusia Sugar burns are the WORST!!! That's what I've heard at least, because the sugar doesn't come off your skin.
And YES we had to show it- you need to know that you're not invincible and that things can happen and you need to protect yourself and be careful. I don't understand how millions of people can watch the Saw movies, but are freaked out by this- something that happens in real life all too often.
Okay, while we're all fighting over a website like little kids, I just want to point out that it's not really fair to generalize, like "Canadians live in reality and Americans sugarcoat everything". I mean, come on. I'm proudly American and I agree that it's commercials like this that can really grab your attention.
"awful commercial" whaha what a scared little American censorship noob, so scared of reality, yes lets hide behind out own ignorance and pretend these things dont happen. These commercials make a difference, unlike your stupid beer and insurance ads that rely on jokes and ignorance to sell.
It's great that Canada doesn't censor as heavily as a lot of countries, but for some this is a pretty disturbing thing to see come out of nowhere. It's a great message, and very effective, hopefully they just don't run it on "family" stations. It gets the point across quite well, though.
I don't believe ALL TV should be uncensored, but there definately should be uncensored stations AVAILABLE. It makes me kind of wish I lived in Canada.

@BlockedNasalPassages Depends on the kind of advertisement it is... I mean... for some stupid toothpase or a chocolate or something like that... they give a ton of money... but for the stuff that should really be seen... probably a buck and a half =))
ok... so... you're trying to scare people by showing the effects of accidents... resulting from not respecting the rules of worker's protection... I'm fine with that... but seriously... you've bent the laws of physics a little, over there... I mean, the water was hot... but no steam...
Good geezus christ. This reminds me of when they kept showing those car accident commercials where the camera would cut off to black right at the impact of the two cars. These commercials are fucking awesome. It's uses horrifying examples to make their point very clear. If you cut corners on the job you're risking the lives of your employees or coworkers. It's better to show examples like this rather than shelter people from them because when the day comes that disaster strikes the sheltered won't know what to do.

this was a great commercial. My favourite of the group of workplace safety commercials. very effective.

I think this is a great commercial. This sort of thing happens every minute of every day. Makes a very valid point.

These commercials are fucking awesome. It's uses horrifying examples to make their point very clear. If you cut corners on the job you're risking the lives of your employees or coworkers. It's better to show examples like this rather than shelter people from them because when the day comes that disaster strikes the sheltered won't know what to do.
