@paulinus43ad Thank You! I always appreciate your comments coming all the way from 'down under.' I've always wanted to visit Austrailia but I've not made it there yet.
What a treat to hear a wonderful singer singing such a fabulous rendition of this song,my god there is such talent out there, and ive been the lucky one with the rest of you all to have found it today, thanks a million for posting ( ive played it 1/2 a dozen times already .(from over the pond )
My daughters' name is Maggie. She got married on Saturday. I passed out a copy of the music to everyone at the wedding and had the DJ play this song in just a tad more upbeat version. Everyone young and old sang along and whenever it came to sing "Maggie" everyone raised their glass and really belted out "MAGGIE". That was the plan anyway. The DJ said he couldn't find the song in his catalogue.
Tom, thank you for this great work of art. When I was about 9 years old
My Mom bought me a rose wood ukulele from a Sears catalog for about $8.00. Some of the songs in the instruction manual and how to make the chords were “Old Kentucky Home”, “Maggie” and “Sewanee River”. I had a quick trip back with your song, thanks. Your efforts to maintain some of our history will be remembered by many.
i love this song it's so full of love and devotion and reminds me of my gran singing this when i was very little in Brasil ! ( yes i know tis a strange thought of a gran singing this to a child in south america !! lol...but there we go, life is strange:-)) ...great song, very well performed xx
I am a 71 year old Japanese. I remember that day when I heard this song from the radio first time 53 years ago at the age of 18. Since then this song has been my most favorite song in the world. Three years ago, I was attacked by an acute type-A aortic dissection, but survived miraculously by the devoted care of my wife and daughter.
....and the trials of life nealy done...lets sing of the days that are gone, Maggie, when you and I were young...
Very nice...Love it...
Thanks my sweet angel ♥♥♥ :)
