Hehe. This reminded me of that awesome game from a few years back called Indigo Prophecy (Fahrenheit in the US). Man. That was a good game. Also nice video? :)
(The game had an indigo child you had to protect from two warring clans and who was prophesied to whisper the secret of life at a certain day and time.)
But yes, I should have mentioned that I read about this but wasn't sure about including it in the video - I was wary of making fun too hard & coming across as smug, I guess.
But between the video game, the movie and the fact that Tappe and her compatriots think that pretty much every serial killer was/is an improperly raised Indigo Child...it's hard not to paint the whole deal as OVERLY silly.
Oh, I've heard of synesthesia! A girl in my speech class did a presentation on it, and claimed that she had it. I wasn't sure, though; I found it a little hard to believe that she could know what I tasted like just by looking at me.
Well, that's the trick of synesthesia. To the person with the condition it can feel as if they are getting bonus sensory information about the subject their focusing on - but it's really just in their heads.
That being said, I'd love to be able to listen to music the way some synesthetics do!
I think it'd be interesting to see someone with synesthesia cooking. If they really do know how something tastes by looking at it, they must be pretty hardcore chefs.
I smiled when I saw you did this episode on Indigo Children. I was just thinking about them yesterday while i babysat at a wedding for the bride and groom. Coincidences like this make me feel slightly psychic.
And maybe, sure, you know me...I'll cover almost anything if it's interesting.
This topic grabbed me on something of a personal level as I was what the Canadian school system dubs "Intellectually Gifted".
Now I've got plenty of criticisms of the term and the school program that goes with it, but it's certainly far more rigorously tested and proven than Indigo Children - which I consider a harmful misdiagnoses by New Age daydreamers. I just had to have a poke at it!
your material is good... but your voice is so monotone and boring >.>

@intimewegetentwined It can't be that bad, otherwise why'd you subscribe? (Thanks, by the by).
I'd suggest checking out some more recent videos, this one is from almost two years ago and I'd like to think my delivery has improves since then.

Well, I know that Nancy Ann Tappe currently lives in California but I can't say if she's been there all her life. A good guess, though!

i discovered this channel on the day you put this video up. I was doing a research on indigo children and bam.
Talk about chance.
I'm happy now.

I've heard that people who experience synesthesia are called "synesthetes."

You're right - because it wasn't the topic per se, I got a little sloppy by going with the first word that came to mind. Sorry!

I personally prefer children as far away from the ultra-violet spectrum as possible.

As long as they're opaque, that's my main qualification. Ghost kids bug the shit out of me!

Your Disembodied Voice In The Intro/Outro Is To Funny lol
This Was A Very Interesting Topic...
I Think It Would Be Cool To Be An "Indigo Child"
That You Were Made To Do Something Special
Ok This Sounds Like It's Coming Straight From A Comic Book lol
This Topic Reminded Me Of A Game Called "Indigo Prophecy"
A Very Good Underrated Game For The PS2
But Anyways, Great Job Man
Keep On Informing Me With Stuff!
P.S. Thanks For Your Advice In The Last Video, I Got An "A" On My Speech. Thanks :D
slylink690 2 years ago
I'm glad I was able to help!
I should give credit where credit is due, though. The narrator in the intro/outro is my friend Joe. He's also responsible for our theme music.
Also, good call on the video game - you're right, that absolutely drew on Indigo children and an aspect of them which I didn't bring up.
Tappe and her likeminded fellows believe that the Columbine shooters, Timothy McVeigh and other such characters were all mismanaged Indigo Children.
HandfulOfMinutes 2 years ago
I wouldn't enjoy having an indigo aura.
I'd like to have grey or mauve.
And "lol" literally at you as an Indigo Child.

The best part for me was convincing my roommate to take the photo.
"You're going to be miming...what?"
