I'd love to see the Doctor deal with the Rani and Master again...and it might even work if you have Kate O'Mara to return and have her play "big sister" to "pesky younger brothers" John Simm and Matt Smith, as she did with Anthony and Colin.

"Brain regeneration"-how so true-how Peri handled the 6th one for so long I don't know-his mind is messed up as the 6th-any Time Lord attempting to contact him psychically finds they have to wade through a living time storm in his mind-and his unbalanced nature makes him liable to kill more often if HE finds it necessary, and it's also when he needs humans the most because his state in the beginning nearly killed Peri.

if you see the end of this episode the rani got stuck on another planet, so she was probably still on that planet during the time war, so she probably survived.

@milllybob Yes, I agree. i don't understand the Doctor being the Last of the Timelords when there were plenty of renegades in Time Lord history. There could be a number of Timelords still alive around the universe. I highly doubt the renegades all came back to help the Timelords, the society that banished them. The other renegades can't all be like the Doctor.

Any speculation into what the Rani meant at 1:03 when she said that she could change her appearance, but the Doctor was stuck with whatever his regeneration gave him? I remember that Romana also chose her appearance. The Master in the new series also hinted that he was choosing a body that was "young and strong." Is the Doctor the only one who can't choose his appearance?

I do know that it seems like the time ladies CAN choose their appearnce and as for the Master maybe he is just skilled enough to be able to do that. You are right in Destiny of the Daleks Romana chose her appearance. I'm sure Rani could do it too. At the same time I do agree with SuperSmasher1 I think in this particular scene Rani meant her clothing, but yes I do think that Rani can choose her appearance.

Best part of the whole story is the Rani mocking the Doctor and the Master for taking their childhood rivalry to such massive heights.
