The only thing I cared about in the video was that sick and stressed hens do not produce eggs "efficiently", so there's just no point in the rough handling and other stupidities. If they could live normally they'd live longer and produce more eggs in the same amount of time. The animal's carotid artery, wind pipe and jugular veins are cut in a single, swift motion with a sharpened knife as to cause no pain to it. Also, Islam has very strict rules concerning the proper treatment of animals. I don't think the issue is whether you eat meat or not. The issue is that animals are often treated disrespectfully and cruelly, and this is unacceptable regardless of one's religious views.

I don't like what I saw in the video, but it's also very different from the way I've seen meat produced most of my life. Eating meat is natural, but the cruelty involved isn't. The only thing I cared about in the video was that sick and stressed hens do not produce eggs "efficiently", so there's just no point in the rough handling and other stupidities. If they could live normally they'd live longer and produce more eggs in the same amount of time. But then again all these videos are compilations of different slaughterhouses, most unregulated in poor countries, where things like animal rights is considereda stupid foreign idea.
