ROAD/RACE- 09 turbo lancer

I got my ralliart for 44k AUD (46k USD) and here the Evo is 65k stock. So cheap in the US...

What is the difference between the ROAD/RACE turbo lancer vs an EVO, apart from the price difference? Can this Lancer out-preform an EVO.

@COOLRADIUM I doubt it would out perform an evo... and if it did, it would only be in a straight line... with out brembo brakes, upgraded shocks, greater width and awd, track times and other tests would be dramatically lower than the stock evos... if you were to buy a stock lancer for 17 grand, I gaurantee that you could not get it to go faster around a track for the 19 grand difference... (it costs like 12 grand to do an awd swap) also, I picked up a 2010 evo x w/ 8k miles for 26 grand...

I dont really like the SE because I dont really like the SST tranny... its a pos and is really expensive to fix... its good for racing but unless you are a professional driver, it wont really make any difference in your track times... Also, I just love the feeling of driving a manual car.. automatics or the SSTs are kinda boring.... I just wish they made the MRs and SEs with a 6speed option...

I have a 10' sportback gts and even with no turbo, front wheel drive, and only 168hp, my ride has better pickup and throttle response when using the paddle shifters then most cars I've seen or driven. Plus the hatchback on it does wonders for aerodynamics.

@LVSpeed ACTUALLY.. A. its cheaper... and really.. no its not... the RRMS custom kit is faster than an evo10.... mitsubishi was amazed on how well it performed and jealous on how much more cheaper it was than their EVOX....

the evo is the way to go if u have 40 grand to blow which i doubt any of u can affored my 09 gts cvt was only 17grand(i screwed em lol) and with a turbo its 21grand and rallyart 25 but you can count on rrm to make a reliable turbo that wont fuck up your car

@fhhs05. Simple. Would you extensively modify your BMW? Would you take it to a dirt track? Would you drag race your BMW? Most people will not. That's where the EVO comes in. The majority of people will not want to change the appeal of a BMW. EVO drivers on the other hand want the performance and the ability to add stuff to it to extract more power. BMW on the other hand is a buy and drive car. If you want chicks, get beemer. If you want grab-your-balls performance and upgradability, get an EVO.

CVT= Continuously Variable Transmission

it has two clutches so when u shift the 2nd is already in gear i have the same car its quite nice not haveing to shift in traffic

why turbo a Fwd lancer with the standard 4b11 unforged? after all the work is set and done, wouldn't it be more cost efficient to just buy an awd ralliart with a ton of more feature for one or two grand more, or even the same price.

If its the 2009 GTS then it has the new 4b12 motor which is a 2.4L. I got mine fore a good price, and it would take me about $10,000 worth of parts to match the cost of a ralliart and $20,000 for an evo.

If I had that much money to put into it, and there were that many parts (which there isn't yet) then I'd say I'd have a better performing car :)...plus, I would be able to say I did all of the labor instead of the dealer.

I paid 24,000 for a RA then got a Tune which didn't cost me anything and run 13.7 just like an EVo and i still have the AWD unlike the GTS

A GTS will never be a better performing car than the Ralliart , just like the Ralliart will never perform better than the EVO

I got my GTS for just over 17,000. Its an 09 so it has the 2.4L and when I bought it, the car only had 9,000 miles. With the RR Turbo (which will give you 245whp) the GTS will have more power than the Ralliart, but yes, not by much. And you're right, the trannny and the suspension, brakes ect. will not be as good as a Ralliart or EVO. I'm just talking about power compared to the ralliart, and the cost for a guy who doesn't have a lot of money to spend haha.

about 21,000 plus a tune would be 240Awhp and 250lbs torque and I know the RRM turbo doesnt give you that much torque plus AWD and motor that was designed for forced induction

and I guess if the boosted GTS were to be competing in it's class of FWD cars, then it would do some good damage :) as the EVO and RA do amazing runs in the AWD classes. I wouldn't mind doing some time attacks pretty soon, but I will admit, it's going to take some work.

u say the turbo gives 50 hp? stock lancer gts get 168hp the ralliart with it's turbo has 235 adding 168 + the 50 only get like 218 still not enough.
