  • @nisarakbari That's the thing; he was prob trying to show off with that leg press and waited to show you all that weight after the actual reps of another full set. I usually do HEAVY partials after a set of 4 or 5. It fatigues the legs all the way and shocks them try it with hack squats or the leg press.

  • With half reps you focus more on the quads and less on the glutes/hamstrings and by using more weight you still can get the same intensity, just more focussed on the quads, which is what they're aiming for.

  • yea he uses steroids...and ur point is...i'm an exercise physiologis and I can garauntee you that if you take the same steroids he's taking and go and do whatever the hell you do in the gym you would never look like him...its called hours and hours of constant dedication and hard work...steroids just help them recover so that they can go back and do it the next day...clueless disrespectfull little people with small persons complex...

  • @ILiv4This85 yeah, that's all steroids do, they help people recover so that they can go back the next day. I think an afternoon nap takes care of that problem. Steroids do A LOT more.

  • seems like he's doing half reps to focus on the muscles surrounding his knees because it's obvious that they need to be developed more. My legs are very similar to his. Maybe I should do the same.

  • Anyone who knows Brandon knows that he is trying to bring up is Quads and his Calves for his upcoming pro career. Those are the two things he was critiqued about the most at his past performances. And also, anyone who knows anything about bodybuilding knows that in order to use only your quads and not your glutes/hams, on a lot of leg exercises, you need to limit your rang of motion, and keep specific placement of your feet. This is obviously what he is doing.

  • @delro84 have you heard of anabolic steroids lately??? many pro shows are not tested; and many athletes cycle on and off anabolic steroids. you and them are at different levels for what it takes to build mass. building an athletic body involves full ROM and practical exercises.

  • @delro84 they don't get huge that way. What you see them doing right now is what works the best for them at this current time. He has stated in previous episodes that his quads are a weakness and he needs to bring them up and doing leg presses with only the first half of the ROM places more emphasis on the quads. Do you think the newbs in the gym know what the hell they're doing. They don't have any weakpoints because their whole body is their weakpoint

  • half reps are good to keep the hamstring out of the movement.. Hamstrings are a different day....trust me, that weight and that ROM is breaking down the quad just fine. Brandon has made good progress with his legs..

  • Half reps allow a different kind of training. Furthermore, if someone has delicate joints, doing full reps with extremely heavy weights could severely injure them for the rest of their life.

  • @nightfire4107 You bet. Brandon, along with tons of other bodybuilders, are really gifted genetically. In addition to diet, intense exercise, and steroids, genetics play a huge role in how one looks and develops muscle. Steroids just take these genetics to a whole other level.

    btw: my lifts are 515lbs dead, 405lbs squat (ATG)

    also prediction; curry never wins a pro show that has at least 1 legit pro also competing

But because he does this for a living and looks the way he does I think he probably does reps the way he does for a reason. He probably has teams of trainers and dietians that know more about this than you or I and his workout is taylor made to fit his strengths best

  • Been using the NO-Xplode for about a week and I can feel it. My muscles feel harder and the pump lasts way longer than without it. I just started using Cell Mass today...lets see if it works when I go to the gym tomorrow. Also tried the BSN protein powder..tastes pretty good

  • Everyone's ripping on him for doing half reps. I agree that he is, but you know what? Look at his legs and his physique overall. There's probably a reason he's keeping the range of motion to what it is. I know with other muscles he does a "full" range so maybe with his quads there's a logic to this.

Nothing every grew. Lowered the weight, full range, everything is shooting up! Brandon obviously has help, which I have 0 issue with at all, in fact I'll probably take shit in my life, but the thing is, I dont have a clue what these reps could be doing. MAD PROPS to his physique and I take nothing away from him.

I'm saying they might not be beneficial at all without steroid use, which is why I NEEDED FULL REPS to grow. You can train with some degree of improper form and still grow on steroids.   • @SOuLmAN1984 The lower you go, the more you activate the glutes/hams. There's an overwhelmingly strong possibility that he was keeping the ROM short to isolate his quads.
