  • Love the video of all this blasting! Coal being removed from the mountain means I can be online, watch tv, have lights, etc...By the way, i love the lies about non violence. I have witnessed when one of your members pushed a Massey underground coal miner. No words were exchanged, the protester just walked up behind him and shoved him. And if its just because he is a coal miner, I thought you were fighting mountaintop mining not underground.

  • @mellyast You don't need to blow up a mountain to get coal.

We need to stick to underground mining and at the same time advance on renewable energy. Only 5% of the coal comes from "Mountain Top Removal" blasting mountains.

over 8 HUNDRED THOUSAND square miles of beautiful appalachian mountains had been blown and destroyed. It took millions of years to form these mountains, and for what? 5% of coal? polluting waterways? KILLING AND DESTROYING nature?

It took 40 years to cause so mu

  • are you kidding me ! the coal farm creates jobs , energy , cash ect . where do you dumb hill billies think you get the money to by food from !

  • You're calling people out and saying they are "hillbillys" when you don't even know which form of buy to use. Good game you pathetic troll.

  • I love you Judy! Never stop being who you are!!!!!!!!

  • ha ha how did that work out for you fuckin hippy trash peice of shit judy the whore bonds yeah you stopped that permit didnt you!!!!!HA HA HA HA!!!!!!! you are a fuckin idiot you tell all these lies so that people that dont live around here will beleive you but we who live here know diffrently. You bitch

  • who's mountains are they? -

not yours - not ours !

It belongs to the mining company .

    Sour Grapes

    ya pathetic fools

  • In a larger sense the Earth belongs to all of us and our decendents, not a single person or company.

    - But ignoring that, will the coal company cover the actual cost of a clean up of the mess they'll cause if the containment bursts?

I strongly doubt it. Cost of insurance for that occurance would be more than the net worth of the company. So the governement would need to clean up.

Therefore, the coal company is being subsidized by the government.

    Chew on that.

  • It belongs to God! God's creation is being raped!

  • God is in your imagination, grow up kiddo.

  • @WC3POchannel10A who gives a hell

  • @WC3POchannel10A Yes! raped! raped by man!!! who is...... uh....... God's creation........... and who may come to harm without the benefits provided by that coal........... QUICKLY!!!! RAPE the earth to protect Gods creation!!!!!!

  • hey Bondo, quit speaking as if you are an engineer. Everything you see was approved by qualified engineers who work for the federal and state government, not some tree hugging uneducated lady like yourself misinforming the public.

  • Why do you protest mines, look what they are doing to the mountain in charleston for yeager airport, why isnt any1 protesting that? it looks horrible and will never even be reclaimed at least miners reclaim the land after they are finished.you people have no lives and deserve to choke on a tree dick you worthless pieces of trash. Wahhhh the mountains wahhhhh i dont wanna work so i travel around protesting and pretend like i actually make a difference. Hippie trash.

  • DAMN DUMBASS! Those "hippies" are doing the REAL work you coward!

Go stop the Charleston airport if you really think that's the issue. It's not about "looks".

PEOPLE ARE FIGHTING TO SAVE YOUR LIFE ASSHOLE! Do you understand?

They are protesting because they understand these destructions are the order of death.

Perhaps you walk with the paid off zombies? It takes a real MAN with LIFE, to do this unpaid WORK of halting the corporation. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? Go die if YOU wish, but I do not!

  • Don't you have something to bitch about in minneapolis???? Leave us the hell alone and stay out of this conversation homo.

  • You really are deluded. Reclamation, if it happens at all, is a land of rock and scrub grass. Most times they don't do even that much because the government won't enforce the laws. If the Clean Water Act was followed there would be no MTR at all, but government makes laws but sometimes enforcement never happens because of corruption.

  • Eat crap and die please. DO you live with the fear of dying in your sleep because some ash hole wants to make money off of your grief? I don't think so.

thin is not an environmental issue... It's a social issue. Why are we the nations energy sacrifice zone?!

  • The coal left in that Mt. can not be mined using underground, mining methods. The coal can be mined using surface mining methods. The Brushy Fork Impoundment, was constructed with refuse material. A byproduct of raw coal once it is cleaned. The OSM has a law called AOC. It means if you surface mine, you have to put the land back, to the Approximent Original Contour. So, after the surface mining is done, road can be left and windmills can be constructed. It costs alot of money to build roads.

  • FUCK COAL. The coal market is over. END COAL NOW.

  • Yes, they are required to put the land back, but it is never as good as it was before they stripped it. The soil is rockier, less nutrient rich, and prone to erosion. Plus the coal companies don't put more money into it than they have to. They do a really half-assed job at putting the mountain back the way it was.

  • shellius, You're about the stupidest person on the face of the earth. I hope you freeze in the dark. (coal has to be stopped) how fucking stupid.

  • I am so sorry to hear about this, is there anything people can do, call our congressmen, or anything?

  • I don't want to speak for them but calling congressmen and women is useful, working the democratic process, but also electing people that do not receive campaign money from these coal companies and who are openly against damaging mining like Mountain Top removal.

  • We must let all Americans be more informed on this The fast and cheapest way is for ever ruining our nation. These companies and there workers dont care about are future generations or our lands.Make calls, send videos demand you news stations to report it more. Let famous people know you want them to get involved, Churches ,teachers ,so called leaders to. Keep it up let you voices be heard. God Bless.

  • Good luck stopping this!

Coal has to be stopped -- there is no such thing as clean coal and all the power plants have got to be shut down. Do what you have to do.

  • Coal kills, I do not agree that it can ever be mined "responsibly." There wiull still be sludge pits and there will still be fine particles, There will still be death for innocent people.
