I don't think it is the family. Eric and Dylan for example didn't come from broken homes. They both had a good family. Once you reach a certain age, as cold as it sounds, all the family love in the world isn't enough to compare with the need for social/peer acceptance or finding love (as in a mate).
People would like to think things like this can be avoided by or blamed on a specific someone/thing, but it never can be. Everyone has different wants and needs. The real reason dies with them.

I remember the guy. I usually get along well with other Coop fans, but I found this guy just a little too creepy for my tastes. These kinds of things happen in my country a lot, and I wish it would stop in every country. Guns and mental illness has been on this earth for years. What has gotten worse is bullying. NONE of the people that I have ever known, has committed suicide. Only a few people I know, have gun(s), and they use them for hunting and hobbies. I know 0 people with a hand gun, or even a license to own one.

I have visited plenty of different countries. And sure, there are messed up people everywhere but the difference is that other countries have diversity, they're not totally controlled by state & psychiatric institutions like in Finland. Finns should never be allowed to own guns, they are not responsible, they don't respect life & they are obsessed with gunning down animals and people. You even ruined your advertised "land of forest & lakes" environment, you have to go to Russia to find that.

I watched violent cartoons all my childhood (Voltron, Mazinger Z, Thundercats, etc) and grew up watching violent movies (Pulp Fiction, Clockwork Orange, Reservoir Dogs) and play violent videogames since I was 14 (shooting games, Grand Theft Auto, Splinter Cell, Manhunt) and guess what?? The finnish schools are very good, Im not saying they aren´t. But the finnish gouverment should have to put more money in student-counseling.
There should always be a school welfare officer working. If she´s only there one day a week, how could she notice if a student doesn´t feel well.

We can´t blame it on the vidoe-games, we can´t actually blame it on hitler either. But can we really blame it on this boy? I bet he didn´t have these kind of thoughts when he was born, and i bet he wasn´t full of hate when he was 6 years old. Something changed him. We have to ask ourselves, how did it come to this? Could somebody have helped him, could somebody have said "hey" in the corridor or just given him a hug. Would that someone then and there saved 8 lives? Think about it...

No ofcourse we can´t, and we shouldn´t. This was a huge tragedy, and the only one we can blame it on is the one who dod it. But I just think the society is to blame why he became this sick person who thought it was okay to kill.

Right on, it's easy to just label people that do these kinds of things as evil instead of actually asking 'why did this happen, what was going on in this kid's life?"

in May I was aquantinted with him and talked with him, I tried to show him a better veiw point in life even though i agreed with his. If I had known he was gonna do this, which i did not, i would have tried harder, but its no ones fault but his own for doing what he did. he had made the decision. he pushed everyone away. it's ironic, and it's sad, but it's life. school shootings are very popular now, no where is really safe

He did that? Why he didn't do it with me then? He didn't "push me away"! Pekka listened and he was very good at that. He told his opinion and he sticked by it very good also.. And he did NOT push me away. And if he sometime would have done it, I would have been VERY mad because I like to discuss about things, not fight over. Thank you.

No, I know he listened and he did have very good and strong opinions. haha wow figures everyone pushes me away so heeey, gunna go shoot up your school obviously I'm the first to stop talking to. Anyways, no, we never fought either, just slowly stopped talking, especially with the drama going around. I prefer discussions over fighting as well.

The video glamorizes him too much, although quite well edited technically.

finland IS a good place, its very horrifying when something like this happens. im still a student, and I know I would be scared for my fricking life if a shooter came at me with a gun!
