The guy on the magna needs to untuck his sack from between his legs lol!! My dad has a V65 and that bike will haul ass with the proper guy draggin it!! Not with this guy on it!!
@chiplick First off you lil wet behind the ears idiot....look at the title. Its his first ever 1/4 mile run...that means hes being carefull. 2nd off...for it being his first...look at the track. Its been raining. Rain and motorcycle racing dont generally mix. Thats why young kids have sky high insurance like yourself...you THINK you know everything...but really you know very little. Perhaps its time to stop thinking with your little sack and use your head.
Whatever man, if your taking a bike out to fucking drag you should have easily enough experience to drag it!! If you haven't opened your bike up on the highway you probably shouldn't be dragging it. And what about the guy the blows him away? his bike must be a special bike that is impervious to rain! "Wet behind the ears" Good one!!
Hey you all out there I'm getting a very nice red 1984 Honda Magna V65 1100 with only 24,000 miles on it will I be very impressed with it because I here alot about them and how fast they are that's why i'm getting it I've never even rode one so give me some advice and oh by the way it already has the oiler mod thing on it whatever that is I know it's to help out the cam wear but that's all I know about it, I don't even know where it goes, but are these things very competetive with modern bikes?
Are you sure It's an 84? Are you sure it's an 1100? As far as I know all 84 1100s were black, the V-45s were red and the V-30s were blue. Mine runs in the mid 11s. I know it can do better just need to practice more. I've seen them do 10.90. Still very competative with todays bikes, just won't corner or stop as well. Oil bypass a good thing if you like to cruise at low rpm. Have fun but respect it This 25 year old bike can still bust your #%*! up.
Well you need to do some more research because I know for a fact that they made 2 colors in 1984 and that was black which is hard to find and then they made a color called CANDY ANDROMEDA RED.
i had an 84 red v65. and yes, it really hauled. i wish i never had to sell it. i would keep it forever. you absolutly cant beat a v65 magna in any way for an old bike.
i was riding my v65 one time with my dad who was on his 06 night rod (tuned, vmod, no baffles). i was behind him and he took off. i kept up with him until i looked down and i was going 130 mph. needless to say, i backed off. but sassy (my bike) could go faster all day long. i wish i still had that bike.
LOL looked like slow motion launch!! seems like you didnt even reach more than 5k rpm on any of the gear, go to at least 7k and you will feel the V65 power!!! (V65 Sabre Owner) good luck next race!!!
The V65 will stand straight up off the line if you arent careful, so obviously you were not giving it all it had. Take care of that bike it deserves far more respect than that rocket thing you were racing Proud 1985 V65 Magna owner.
Mine pulled the tire off the ground all the way to about 50, then came down. Of corse when I shifted to 2nd gear at 60 it pulled up again. But with some practice I learned how to come off the line harder. I miss my v65

Try running that good ole' V4 up to about 9000RPM in every gear. After 7000 it's a real thrill ride. Pretty good for a 25 yr old bike...Can hang with the best of em these days. <--83 V65 magna owner! Love my V4. Practice a bit and that race will turn out a bit different.
No, I do not have the oil bypass yet, but I do have fork seal problems. I am working on getting my 86 V65 back up in running condition. Any hits on the fork seals?
fork seals common and reasonably easy to change, however, just a quick fix. my seals only last me a season. thinkin' about getting them turned or pricing out new ones. Doing the oil bypass makes me nervous because I have to drill a hole in my motor according to a website. My mechanic told me as long as I keep the revs up I'll be fine....off to the race track!
Get the oil mod kit from Dave Dodge racing products. It is a bolt on kit and I have it on my 85 V65. It took about two hours to install. I recomend this product as it is a quality and easy to install product.
Hey it's a first race ever c'mon. Good job, next time climb all over that throttle, lol. We can't let those pansy crotch rockets beat the beast. <--(V65 owner)

chadecker16 2 years ago
Well i've already bought it and I got it out of Walland Tennessee off of an older like man. Damn this bike is really awesome.
kowalskideahl 2 years ago
@kowalskideahl The 1100s were available in three colors per year from 83-86. Depending on the year, black was available all 4 years,

Stock magna with 4 into 1 wolf exhaust, modified rear sway arm to accept Super venom 150/80/V16 tire and progressive front springs
with sbs brakes (not that I use em)
As a Magna owner, you got the oil bypass? Do you have fork seal problems?
