  • halleluja :D

  • Man it must of taken 200 computer and phone to get that much gold.. and what about the platnuim how did you get that out.

  • Lols, I find it sad and funny at the complete ignorance of all the comments in regards to chemistry

  • a 1g glass vial is 331 fucking dollars for Chloroauric Acid jesus fucking christ

  • @robomanism

    lol

I can sell for half price... same quality.

  • @indeedItdoes and I could probably make it for a quarter of YOUR price

  • @chaostroll1267

Ok then... so i better buy gold from you if you are offering it for sale at under spot prices... lmao

  • @indeedItdoes Or if ur the risk taking type and in school , you could steal it from the chemistry classes

  • Where can i buy some Chloroauric acid at the best price?

  • some clicks ago i was watching videos about laserpointers.

    wait for my revenge youtube!!!

  • so badass that that's your job. if you don't care to share..what ration/measurement of oxalic acid are you using? and what temperature are you bringing that too? anything would help.

  • how much does chloroauric acid cost? im very interested in conducting this experiment, especially because i found that the oxalic acid is fairly inexpensive. also, how much of each substance did you use in this experiment? are there any cautions i should be aware of?

finally, could you sum up the procedure for me?

    thanks.

  • @tortfootball35 $331 for a 1 gram glass vial and its very sensitive to light and its almost as corrosive as battery acid

  • cool video man. jus a quick question. how easy would it be for an average guy like me to get their hands on the chemicals used in the video?

  • @carpetguy323

The chemicals are very easy to obtain in small quantities.

What you do with them and how you stay safe is what count :)

  • @carpetguy323 u got an answer yet?

  • Where`s the gold coming from, looked like the elixir!

  • im just a kid but is this real gold? im very interested in all of chemestry things and i really just wonderd if any chance you could do this and sell the gold? or do the materials all together cost more?

  • @diffles09

Yes, the point for recovering and refining the gold is to sell or hoard it for selling it later (investment).

The main cost is your time, the bigger the batch the more gold is recovered making the process more profitable.

  • ohhh

  • cool thanks !

  • Holy-Terrorist:>*=* ?

    <=< A new stuff to extract gold[Au]?

  • thats a badass lava lamp!

  • How did the process work??

    2AuCl3(aq) + 3H2C2O4(aq) --> 2 Au(s) + 3 HCl(aq) + 6 CO2(g)

    is that correct??

Also, why didn't the pure gold power lustrous??

  • @cheyrucheyru

    Actually it is:

    3NaHC2O4 + 2HAuCl4 = 2Au + 3NaCl + 6CO2 + 5HCl

Remember, the reduction occur with the oxalate of Na/K/NH3, not the acid it self.

  • @cheyrucheyru omg WHAT

  • @cheyrucheyru WHATEVER THE FUCK THAT MEANS

  • kk, now ShOw me a way to MaKe GoLd FrOm SoMething WiTh no GoLd in it, and I'll be AmAzed XD

SeRiously, ThOugh, SW33T ViDeo, bro, PrOps. MaJor PrOps

  • is this procces profitable?

i mean is the acid price higer than the gold you can seperate with it?

or can you keep using the acid?

  • i have two questions how much is it worth when youre done. and how do you get the acid stuff

  • couldnt you use an acid in solution with electric curent to remove gold from say a plated surface .at ont terminal and have it collect at the other terminal.a long time ago i watched a vid produced by the us mint where it showed them in the final purifacation doing just that and the result was pure gold.no nasty acids and stuf or am i just high on crack?thanks

  • @bcdigit

Electrowinning gold uses practically the same chemicals and acids. And yes, i could have done it, but that's for another video :)

In the video you are taliking about they just make it look so easy and simple, in reality, it's far from it.

  • wow this is awesome !!!!! looks kinda hard but still very cool ! how much is that gold worth ???

  • @pornoslut

If memory serves me currect, that batch was about an ounce.

  • @indeedItdoes thats really cool =) ...I would never have thought about doing that ! how long does it take to get about an ounce ???

  • Would it not be much more efficient to get a job and simply buy the gold with the money earned?

  • @TWSceptic

    Hehe... lol

    This is my job :-)

  • hi, this is cool stuf can somone tell me how much money can i get from lik 100 self fones or 100 procesorrs? and how much money will the cemicals cost me. tnx

  • nice

  • can you tell me how exactly what to do once i have the scrap parts.ho to i get this chemical mixture and stuff to get it to the gold powder.please personal message me.

  • Why ad the silver to gold when trying to get it more pure?My mine ore is about half silver should I just get the silver out with Nitric then do the do the AR with SMB to get the gold back to pure?

  • You dropped the gold from AR with SMB can another precipitant be used with AR like magnesium?

  • Mmm I like the way you make gumdrops

  • so what process do you recommend if you have 3 ounces of fine gold that was recovered from a river and has trace amounts of black sand and other debris? any process that can be used like with aqua regia that will enable me to isolate the gold from the silver and copper mixed with the gold as well as the other stuff to get it to 99.9?

  • @CorbanNewman

    Watch my other videos:

These are suited to your need.

  • @indeedItdoes Do you know how much a pentium 4 contains (gold)?

Is it the same as fiber ones? 0,08g per cpu?

And do you know about the prices they sell per lb or per processor?

    I found 10lb p4's for 150bucks, do you think it's a good price?

    Any help apriciated!

  • @9kuuby9

    Bad deal!!

Try to buy for less then 8$ a lb.... or pass.

  • @indeedItdoes Thx man! We could learn alot from you

  • Did you send this gold to an assayer? what % pure is it?

  • @CorbanNewman

    Hi

    No, i did not.

To properly assay it (1/100 of a gram), i'll need to XRF it with a very good operator. OR ICP / AA.

I have no acsess to any of these tests, so only give an educated estimation, which is anywhare between 9995-9999 fine gold.

  • @indeedItdoes well the pictures make the gold look exceptionally bright to assay at such a high % as gold. almost looks like it has a good amount of silver in it. never seen such a high % although I'm sure it's possible. perhaps it's just the lighting. If you process enough and confirm it's so pure then it'll probably be worth it to send it to a lab to verify the process you use is as pure as you say. What about the excess material? you didn't start with 99.9% gold, right?

  • @CorbanNewman

The starting material was indeed about 99.9 gold powder.

In this video, you are witnessing a second refining procedure, with a different reducing agent then the previous refining.

  • Comment removed

  • how many cell phones does it take to get a once ? ty

  • how much oxalic acid do you use?

  • @MrSinner22

1:1 wight ratio of expected gold

  • @indeedItdoes How do you know how much gold to expect? This may be a stupid question, but I'm completely new to this.

  • @Verradonairun

    It's not stupid question.

Sometimes you know how much gold you are dissolving, such in the case of jewllery... and sometimes you are making educated guess according to past expiriance...

  • @indeedItdoes oh, ok. Thanks :)

  • 1L of HCl cost 1-2€, 1L of HNO3 cost about 5€, it´s 1,3L of mixed aqua regia, and how much gold i can dissolve into it?

  • @Dri0m

    approx' 300 - 350 grams of gold.

Assuming you are using 69-71% nitric acid.

  • @indeedItdoes but i see a lot of videos where they getting gold from aqua regia using chemical method (from computer parts), you dissolved pure gold in it?

  • @indeedItdoes

with what can be gold and base metals to separate the best?

nitric acid (HNO3) or is HCL?

    Please Help

  • @Mohammed77707

That depedns very much of your starting material, there's no right answer, or to say this one is better then the other...

As you didn't provide any info, i could not help you.

  • Are not the working computer parts each worth more than the work it takes to destroy them for such little Gold ? :( QC

  • How much is the gold worth after the experiment?

  • @JerryGiesler09

Worth just the same as before...

Only when refined, i could get better rates when selling it :)

  • @JerryGiesler09 I watched his other purifying-tutorial... he had gold for 11.5g at 14K and after the process it was 6.4g of 24K.. in sweden 24K is worth 32.2€ and 14K is worth 17€.. So 11.5g @ 14K = 195.5€ and 6.4g @ 24K = 204.5€.. You earn roughly 10€.. minus expenses of all the acids you used to actually refine it.. but this is swedens prices, you might live at a better spot ;)

  • @Torskel So the cold shots of gold you see after the refining on this video is 24K?

  • @JerryGiesler09 no idea if he has done the same process as before but with more gold.. but his previous one using Silver & Gold and refining it.. thats 14K into 24K. thats the one im talking about

  • @JerryGiesler09

    Yes, they are.

This gold had been refined twice and assayed (xrf) "four nines or above".

  • @Torskel

    Hi

Well... the question is really not how much would i sell 14K or 24K, of course there's a difference in favor of the 24K prices.

The real point for making a profit is how much sis i bought the 11.5g of 14K ?

For how much can you buy 14K... that's the base line, not selling.

Refining it to 24K is just to bring in premium.

Now if you think about it, processing 1Kg is pretty much the same just different setup... and takes the same time, chemical costs are negligible in any amount.

  • o un po di computer per favore ce qualcuno che mi po spiegare bene come si toglie oro dai pc grazie

  • We all have to start somewhere, there's a first try for everyone :)

I read that many sulfite agents would precipitate gold, and I couldn't find SMB in the local stores - thats why I tried what I could get my hands on at first...

  • @ashsama2

    Sure :)

Search my posts in the gold refining forum with the word "Oxalic", it will take me some time until i'll upload a complete tutorial for Oxalic reduction.

    Good luck mate.

  • Just how much oxalic acid would one use to extract all gold, 1:1 by gold weight before dissolving?

  • @ashsama2

Basically... yes. a 1:1 ratio is even slightly an excess.

If you use dry Sodium Oxalate, you will need approx' 80% the expected gold weight.

If you use dry Ammonium Oxalate, you will need approx' 73% the expected gold weight.

To produce Oxalate salts (Oxalic acid + base) you will use 1:1 mole ratio, meaning, 1 mole Oxalic acid will produce 1 mole of the appropiate salt.

  • @indeedItdoes Will the solution precipitate when there's still water in the solution or does it have to boil off first?

Yesterday when I tried the first time, I tried a couple of different precipitation agents before I tried oxalic acid (re-used the solution for all 4 agents), upon adding oxalic acid it started to precipitate just fine (though it's been boiling a while before adding it - so the water might have evaporated already).

  • However today I've tried using only oxalic acid and it will not start forming any solids at all, even though I've added up to 4:1 ratio, but now there's 50% water in the solution... do I have to boil it off first to make it precipitate?

  • @ashsama2

Please accept these words in the spirit of which it is given.

But it seems to me that you haven't done your home work before starting this process.

Please don't tell me you just follow this video... it is only the highlights of the process and there's some variables which are not discussed in the video regarding this process.

There are several key variables to the sucsess of this process; sufficient amount of reducing agent, temperature and pH.

Visit the gold refining forum for details

  • Cool Ive acid refined a pound I need to wash it now how did you dry it? Reply

  • @567carpediem

In same manner as i would dry any gold powder.

Before drying, wash several times with distilled water, then decant as much water as possible.

Place on low heat and start evaporating the water slowly, as it dries, swirl and shake the beaker lightly to agglomerate the powder to ball & chunks.

When the powder is only moist, turn up the heat to medium and keep swirling every now and then until complete dryness. Collect. Melt. Show off gold on youtube :)

    Good luck.

  • I have several of the older HP Laser printers and a bunch of old mother boards. With gold over $1800 an ounce it would be nice to scrap a bunch of stuff and get an ounce of Gold. How many laser printers do you think it would take to get an ounce of gold? Some of the printers weigh 75 pounds these are big ones :-)

  • @moffett8 I read somewhere that you can expect 1 oz of gold from a ton of circuit boards, not whole computers. The expectation would be higher if you sort out the gold plated parts. There is also some silver, which has value, as well as copper, which has little value on the scale you would be working at. Good luck!

  • wow theres money in everything

  • Sure does look more pure than usual. Must be that fifth 9 :D

  • could you make a tutorial?

  • @fmeriqui

    I will, in the future.

At the moment, i'm not confident i understand completely all the dynamics of the process so i'm not writing anything before i'm sure.

I'd hate the thought of misleading anyone by mistake...

  • @indeedItdoes thats ok, whenever you are ready :)

thank you for all your videos

  • I learn something with every vid.

  • My use of Oxalic Acid has been very successful also . I did read the caution about gold chloride and drying process. I had one precipitating jar explode by strong vibration of a truck bumping down willingdon ave in burnaby bc. coated the entire laundry room .
