nice to see a fisherman to be excited with hooking a bass every time.
I also enjoy fishing that much and am as much excited as you every time when i catch a pike. I'm also going to try and see if there is a possibility to film when i catch a pike. And see if i can go and stay at family in the vs to catch some of those nice bass small and largemouth.
Ive not seen this question asked, Joe...Is there good bank fishing on the Olentangy? I did fish a few times above Deleware, but that would take me back to my 20s almost 40 years ago. Living in Urbana, the Mad is the river of choice; but, bank fishing the Mad is very difficult except around the bridges. I was also wondering about the Stillwater as my son has fished there recently this past year?
Thanks Joe, Ive fished some on the Mad River and understand the dangers of ever changing conditions. Ive been paying attention to your R&R get together. I may make it. As always, thanks for your videos and you taking the time to reply to everyone's questions.
I try to help. This is different than the Mad. I grew up seining crawfish on the Mad outside of Urbana. During rain events this River swells because water rushes directly to the River via storm drains for miles . There is no natural buffer to hold the water. It flashes in a matter of hours and the old construction debris from bridges with chunk concrete and rebar make it dangerous. Be advised. Visit this area when the water is low and clear.
Hi Joe, what kind of fishing should I expect in the Spring. I live over in Urbana, but the distance is no problem. I would also like to know where to put in a boat. Im not aware of any ramps. Thanks, Steve
If you can make it to the get together at R&R I'll go over some of the better times to fish this area. It's really, really tricky to know what to do because water conditions, like temperature, clarity and levels change all the time. This area isn't like many area lakes that get muddy and you still fish them but, just don't catch anything. They are safe places. This area has swift currents at times, becomes extremely dangerous and is downright hazardous for many months of the year
So far this year I've worked with 8 camera people using 3 different cameras. The hardest part is having the camera running while the fish are getting caught. Thanks for watching the show. FishnwithJoe
Man bridges are always awesome places to fish! great video!
