  • Kind Kindness

    kindred blindness

    Lost we know not

    Who we needs ought

    Love...

    Mother of all life

    Here called Earth.

    Blessed be.

  • Truly an underrated masterpiece. This is the movie that taught me about how fragile rainforests can be.

  • Krista sounds like Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

  • O! how we love the funny things in life!

  • things you nor we can explain, for they are the heart's felt constant tickle 'pon the fickle addled brain :) the fairy magic is intense, and some may say insane but needed in the truest sense or what we feel is pain for we are real as rain to see it now is plain nature is that which sows and knows all lives, that which we can't contain in the forest, on stegosaurus, through many a porous plane we skip along in chorus as the Moon doth wax and wane and with it changing every name
  • at last to find again, the same!

dancing round the campfire flame, we have played the rainbow game

and blessed be tis the spirit Goodness,

  • 7:19 how she say's crista ita be freky!!!

  • @ 7:22 - 7:37 Magi said, "Everything in our world is connect by the delicate strands of the web of live, which is balanced between forces of destruction, and the magic forces of creation", I like how she said magic forces of creation, it suggests that those forces come from a Creator, that's very interesting.

  • @starsheild7 Ok?

  • @yourweathertodayHD I was just pointing out how much I like the 90's cartoon movies, they had so much moral heart in theirs stories back then, they weren't afraid to envoke God in the 80's & 90's movies.

From 7:17 - 7:39 Maji said that there are worlds within worlds (higher dimensions) and that life is governed by the forces of creation, it doesn't make sense to say "creation" without envoking a Creator, otherwise Maji would've used the term forces of life instead of "forces of 'creation'".

  • @KillerofDreams777 OF COURSE avatar was a mirror of pocahontas.

  • cane you stll do this one in dutch?

  • I need to watch this again this and Pocahontas.

  • such old, vague, memories. so much nostalgia. thank you very much for posting this.

  • I love this movie. I vaguely remember it. But i love this friggin movie haha :):)

  • Fucking buffer!!!!!

  • Anyone ever askthemselves why they make Animation charactrs so damn hot!!!

  • @1985catlover

  • #1 movie from my childhood.

  • 7:20 WORLDCEPTION. O:

  • thumbs up if u just like giving thumbs up for no reason...lol

  • Ferngully was a classical movie the avatar movie just sucked period id rather deal with fairies then furries mkay hate on me all you want its true ferngully gets a 9.8 and avatar gets a 0

  • @TheGodfather9876 What dont you like about Avatar?

  • @TheGodfather9876 I'm not a fan of Avatar either. My family has a copy of the DVD that got used -at max- three times. Much rather watch the old cartoon movies that I use to have on VHS on Youtube than watch Avatar.

  • wow im 18 and have never heard of or seen this movie, at work everyone was freaking out cause i said i never heard of it

  • ferngully and avatar arent the same, but the producers from avatar got the idea from this movie, its like music, people get influenced by other music and create somethin similar to it but in there own creative way.

  • @raymona7x123 am i the only one who thought avatar was more similar in mirroring the story of Pocahontas? think about it, foreigner, talking trees, an "uncivilized" people, "new world", the humans wanted something valuable out of the earth, john smith didn't shoot Pocahontas in the original story because a butterfly landed on his gun, and Nateeri didn't shoot Jake because an ewa seed landed on her bow...tell me you don't see what i mean

  • @KillerofDreams777 Agreed 100%, but I think you can sort of relate Avatar to a number of movies. Ferngully, Pocahontas (like you said), Dances with Wolves, At Play in the Fields of the Lord, The Emerald Forest, Princess Mononoke, there was another one, a Sci-Fi movie from the 80's, I believe, but can't think of the name.

  • @KillerofDreams777 I thought it was a lot like the plight of the Natives themselves.

  • @KillerofDreams777 no story is 100% original. there may be quite a bit of originality in it but just about every story follows a basic plot. the introduction of the characters and the problem, confrontation with said problem which usually ends in the heroes trying to come up with a way to overcome it, preparation for the final confrontation, a new problem that tears the group apart for a short while and finally, the final showdown which the heroes win against all odds

  • @KillerofDreams777 What planet are you living on ... EVERYONE I know thinks that Avatar is more closely related to pocahontas. You're not the only one, trust me lol.

  • @KillerofDreams777

yeah only you and the whole world

  • @KillerofDreams777 I agree with all of that...except the butterfly.

  • thumbs up if you were looking for fern gully in jamaica

  • loved this movie!!! brings back soo many memeries

  • Avatar totally ripped off this XD

  • 2011 anyone?

  • i remember watching this as a little kid, and being scared to death of hexxus lol.

  • always when somone one says the villian is trapped for good he gets out later in the film

  • You know, I'll never understand why people compare Avatar to this. The two are different. In Ferngully, a human gets shrunk to fairy size and interacts with fairies. In Avatar, a disabled human is transported to a world a strange blue creatures and becomes one himself. I see no similarities whatsoever.

  • @bluethunder25 hi, i think i know why. James Cameron's Avatar & Ferngully had different settings, environment, characters however they had the same message which deals with nature. Both avatar & ferngully showed that machine couldn't conquer nature. In addition, main characters Zac ( ferngully) & Jake ( avatar) at the beginning doesn't understand the consequences of their actions. Both of them changed sides once they saw the bigger picture and help the people affected by their earlier actions.

  • MY NAME IS CRYSTA

  • I love Pips, he's my favorite.

  • I loved and still love the art of the opening sequence.

  • I almost forgot about this movie! Thank you soo much for uploading this!!! :)

  • i had completely forgotten about this movie until jus now.. WOW i cant believe i ever forgot about this movie.. i LOVED it!!! thanks for uploading!! :D

  • Can I give you a great big hug for uploading this?..seriously this was my all time fav movie as a chid. I was obsessed with it I knew all the words.

  • This is just a ripoff of Avatar.

  • @BoxxyfanSC Are you aware this movie came out 20 years before avatar?

Think before you write, if anything. Avatar copied this.

  • @xSoundBooth not to mension they copied the title of Avatar: the last airbender :(

  • @strangeladae262 THIS MOVIE CAME OUT BEFORE AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER.

  • @xSoundBooth Wrong, Avi:Lst Abndr was first as an anime television series back in the early 2000's, way before Avatar.

  • @xXPyramidxXxHeadXx Ferngully came out in 1992, I don't know who you're talking to. I'm sure you meant someone else.

Ferngully came out BEFORE Avi: the last airbender, and Avatar. Therefore, your point is invalid.

  • @strangeladae262 No, they didn't 'steal' the name. An avatar is an image or object you use when on social networking or gaming, and they took that work and made it literal, an object that you control as yourself.

  • @xXPyramidxXxHeadXx ahhh.....okay. yeah i remember what it meant on those social networks. i just didn't look at the title that way

    by what it means

    thanx

  • @BoxxyfanSC This movie came out many maaaany years before they even thought of the script for Avatar so it cannot possibly be a ripoff, check the movie database site for the year of production and you'll see.

  • @BoxxyfanSC This is from the 90s, sooo yeahh...

  • I saw this when I was like 8 and now that I'm watching it at 17 this pretty goddamn trippy

  • my name=Krysta=watching this movie is a weird when I hear my name. I stopped and looked if my mother was calling me when magi griped at her...

  • Now that I'm actually watching this, this is some pretty trippy stuff lol

  • @Numanom But I like tinkerbell! D: ...LOL @ your username xD

  • Ock and Brock are funny as hell!

  • This is AVatar with fairies instead of aliens

  • the first few mins remind me of the start of lady in the water

  • Oh the memories

  • I've always liked the red haired dude more than the blonde..... For some reason the blonde always pissed me off,....

  • When I was little,I always liked Hexus... is that a bad thing? :o

  • @bessiexj9 nope he's makes a great villain. I mean have you heard him speak? his voice is so oily and evil it's fantastic. But then again I love a good baddie

  • This is a lot like Pocahontas. She falls in love with the hot blonde guy in the first movie, but settles for a redhead in the sequel.

  • The intro to this always scared me for some reaon :P

    And Hexxus is terrifying.

  • ZOMG I loved this when i was a kid and i still love it!! good quality!!1 thanks for uploading!

  • the way they fly is so cool

  • thumbs up if you hate thumbs up

  • @breerex123 lol

  • i agree, thumbs up too.....I mean because i grew up with this movie...And i still love it to this day...

  • i agree, thumbs up too.....I mean because i grew up with this movie...

  • Hmm. Such painstakingly beautiful animation. Wish I had some glow worm faeries in my garden. River Phoenix shoulda voiced the boyfriend of Samantha Mathis' character, then it'd have a cute little tie-in to reality.

  • ohmygosh i remember this i used to watch it everyday when i was a kid!

  • It's funny.I used to watch this nonstop when I was a kid and of course now being older,I understand the politics and messages behind it. :p

  • I still have the original on vhs

  • man i loved this movie as a kid

  • Sorry But Cornelius is still my fav man fairy XD

  • This film as a child used to scare me abit and was quite sad but I love it at the same time. yup I am strange.

  • Thumbs up if you miss hand drawn animated films like these.

  • 7:52

    magic??

now wait a minute what about photosynthesis??

  • this is the movie that made me love bats as a kid...im serious...i could have told you anything about bats lol

  • hahahahahaha a movie to race environmental awareness to kids what a hippie movie but its a good movie =)

  • The narrator sounds like a female Morgan Freeman O.O

  • oh my god its been a long time i was like 8 or 9 when i watch this movie for the first time now im 25 n i still love the rain forest n this movie!!!

  • Sigh, I love movies about fairies; there's so...so...well, they're just awesome, aren't they?

  • Crysta makes Tinkerbell look like an ordinary firefly

  • Interesting that even in the scenes where things are seemingly orderly and peaceful you get this sense of foreboding thanks to the music.

  • i havent seen this film in yrs!! videos where the big thing when i last saw this lol

  • Thumbs up if you loved this when you were little and still do!

  • @VenusTears666 i still love it :)

  • the intro sounds like lotr xD

  • i always always always wanted a skirt like Crysta's...now i know why my mom always always always said no XD

  • my friend just saw this movie for the first time today n she was confused about Crysta and Pip's relationship.....~sigh~ y msut all my friend's b stuid?

~mumbles to self~ then again, when i saw this a couple years ago, i didn't know either. i was also confused. @.@

  • "you know you're spending more time with Maggie then you are with me"

"well what can I learn from you?" ...LOL

  • these hand-animated cartoons still look better than all of today's computer animated films.

  • @youcandance12345 Agree so hard.

  • Haha I just realized why my dad liked this movie so much when I was little.

  • Thumbs up if you think Crysta's cooler than Tinkerbell! ;P

  • @Numanom if not a little sluttier looking

  • The woman who plays Magi is also on Twin Peaks

  • @hiluhrae

Indeed Avatar is good in it's own right

  • @plantguy9

Did you see this movie in theaters when you were 9? i was 10 when this came out. I grew up in the 80's/early 90's as a kid as well

  • @minhasc

Born 1982 here and grew up in the 80s/early 90s as a kid and mid-late 90's as a teen, the two best times to grow up

  • @andymate2006

I was 10 when this movie came out in theaters and enjoyed it.

  • @travoltadask

Don't forget Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa, Dune, Last of the Mohicans, Heavy Metal, Fantastic Planet, LightYears (aka Gandahar), Starchaser Legend of Orin, Star Wars, Willow, Castle in The Sky and My Neighbor Totoro as well.

  • @Guyverman01

Nice nickname since your a Guyver fan like me. DId Avatar also reminded you of Ghibli movies as well?

  • @guyonfire87

Indeed and she is one fuckin' sweet hot fairy chick i had fantasies about for years especially perverted ones

  • @DareDevil77dd

Indeed and Cameron didn't had the technology to satisfy his vision as he shelved it for a decade then in 2005 he greenlighted the project after being convinced by Lord of the Rings's technology

  • @Wolfrunner326

Since 88 Cameron had the idea and plot on a piece of paper including concept then in 1993 he wrote an 80 page screenplay.

  • @kaighnyne

don't forget he also borrowed from Hayao Miyazaki movies as well.

  • @bdc12087

Only difference is, Avatar is for adults

  • @CyrusJapan

And Pom Poko, Cameron used that one as well with the same ideas of disguising oneself to infiltrate an enemy and help the environment

  • @Creeper234

Do you think Avatar captured motion capture perfectly without Polar Express dead eyes?

  • @gthemo

Don't forget Princess Mononoke is another animated movie with the same plot as Avatar.

  • @StraightDooDoo

And Avatar is also similar to the 1973 French animated cult classic Sci-fi fantasy movie "Fantastic Planet" which is one of Cameron's favorite animated movies and used it as well. If you watch that movie here on youtube, you'll find big similarities and ideas he borrowed from for his new movie.

  • @TheKeatan

Avatar was written in 93 before Last Samurai, did you know that?
