Well, I have used this Motor In the pacific Ocean in open waters, it work fantastic for his 2,2 HP.

Can you disassemble the shaft after use in salt water?

absolutele, you can clean the entire engine and parts with fresh water. Mainly the parts has been made in aluminium and hard composite wish are salt water resistant.
