Learn the difference between conventional design and radical design. Many technologies around the world will use conventional designs, thus it would look similar. A commercial Airliner looks the same everywhere, does not mean it was copied. Plus only the exterior design would be similar.

The North would prefer using conventional weapons than nuclear ones.
@blitzwaffe I have several Korean friends who have to serve, so I can all ways ask them too. What kind of sword? Was it just one of those mock up flimsy ones that are used for ceremonies, like the ones America uses?

North Korea will most likely not fire a nuclear weapon because 1. its radiation can damage themselves too, 2. there is an US army base in South Korea which mean it will have to risk a massive retaliation from US. I find the events in the videogame "Homefront" to be illogical even for a videogame. The game depicts South and North Korea reuniting to become the Greater Korean Republic and then becoming a major superpower. First of all, South and North Korea would never reunite so quickly. Second, Korea would be easliy defeated by Japan anytime soon. I just think the story in Homefront is too flawed to make any sense. Oh well it's just a videogame anyway.
I wouldn't say easily defeated. But yea, it's ridiculous to have a united Korea occupy Japan because Korea wouldn't do it first of all and it wouldn't be an easy task anyway. Japan has a powerful navy, stronger than Korea's, and they have their own impressive tanks and airforce.
That being said, the Korean land military outnumbers the Japanese one even when seperated as two countries. I doubt Japan can invade and defeat Korea. This is different from the early 20th century.
And the Korean air force outnumbers the Japanese one too. So I doubt the Japanese could invade and defeat Korea.
The North Korean tanks outnumber the South Korean ones by a huge margin, so the South Koreans need better tanks to balance it out. You're right that it won't stop nuke attacks, but at least It'll help the North think twice a little more before invading. It's better to have an advantage on some things than have none at all on all factors.
For the US, China and Japan, they are worried rather than scared. And that's exactly one of the NK's intentions of having nukes. Without nukes, NK leadership must be scared of becoming another Iraq under Sadaam Husein.

The North Korean tanks outnumber the South Korean ones by a huge margin, so the South Koreans need better tanks to balance it out. You're right that it won't stop nuke attacks, but at least It'll help the North think twice a little more before invading. It's better to have an advantage on some things than have none at all on all factors.

Their launching methods have failed, time and time again.
Also, if NK wanted to invade the south, they would do it.
They have the 4th or 3rd largest army in the world, at around 3million.
Nothing would stop them, or even delay them if they did (except maybe NATO)

The Chinese were allies with N. Korea and were also afraid of the U.N. causing harm. The Chinese sent in their own troops to counter the U.N. and drove them back. Now the war was right back to where it started; the 38th parallel. The war remained a stalemate until the U.S. and China signed an armistice or ceasefire. Unfortunately, neither side signed an official treaty, so technically the war is not over. A DMZ was created along the border and both sides heavily guard it.

The South Korean Army stood no chance against the vastly superior North until the North had control over most of the peninsula. South Korea asked the U.N. to intervene and help them. During WWII, Korea was completely occupied by Japan and was utilized as part of the war effort. In 1945, the U.S.S.R. or Soviet Union and the U.S. managed to drive out the Japanese from the Korean peninsula. The Soviet Union held the Northern part of the peninsula while the U.S. held the South. The peninsula was divided upon the 38th parallel line.

I would have to say the us military has far beond passed this. Our tanks now can be sent on o the battle field with a set mission and they can execute this mission with no driver or any human in harms way. They have 16 radars constantly scanning not only the turf they are on but checking the rest

South Koreans are living under the underground caves (more than 50 of them, newspaper said) that have been excavated by North Koreans using excavators called TBM. North Koreans will invade South using these caves onto the rear areas first and paralyze all the military facilities, hitting the front-line thereafter. South Korea must start to make a huge canal crossing from the east sea to the west sea right below the 38th line to cut and block these caves. If not, South will be gone in 3 days.
