Is he using two different snares? Looks like one in the usual spot in between the legs and a second under the high-hat. If so what is the point of that?
Interesting to hear the drums purely acoustic (or mostly) - shows you how f(*&ing processed drums are in death metal recordings. The toms on Those Whom just sound like clicks; nice to hear them actually sound like drums.
@nigelic I know - but listen to how the toms resonate here, and the dynamics of the snare - loud accented hits, softer hits when he blasts. On the record, there are no dynamics to the snare hits (which doesn't sound like reality), and the toms sound like clicks. They may not be triggered, but they are compressed and EQed in such a way (probably in order to cut through the compressed and EQed wall of guitars) that makes the whole kit sound very processed.
@HabAnagarek i dont know what the fuck you're talking about, but nile has the most real sounding drum tracks ive ever heard, which is why i like them so much... open your ears brah, they may surprise you once in awhile

I can't hear triggers quite well. Actually, I hear them only at the beginning of the song.
