I was a Bagel bake for over 40 years, and never saw such an example of not what to do. You do not punch a hole in the dough or broil them. Bagels are boiled first and then baked. Those thing she made looked like they were hard as rocks.
Though I am not criticizing her technique, haven't tried it yet.
