I don't think there is going to be the greatest entertainer of the 21 century.Judy was is will always be the best entertainer ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! R.I.P.Judy still Loving you always Barb....
This song is one of my favourite Judy songs...love her so much...she kept going towards the end..probably cause she had to...bless her for everything she gave her millions of adoring fans...one of a kind..xxxxxx
This IS from 1969 - Sunday night at the Palladium. If anyone read her various biographies, they would know that...jeez!
Yes, she was wearing out her voice totally by this time, but not the talent. Give her a breat, will you....She's still entertaining and getting comments. Not many entertainers can do that 40 years past their death. YEA JUDY!
I think one of the truly amazing things is that, even tho Judy Garland has passed on, we are all still watching her, listening to her, & posting comments about her... THIRTY years later! Not THAT'S a tribut to a Legend. Applause! ...still a fan...
It didn't matter that Judy was ill. She was well loved by all her fans.
I remember her appearance on the Night of a Thousand Stars, she was very ill and I was 10 and I remember saying to my mother and nan, who the hell is that? They said that is the great Judy Garland and I said Oh. Twenty years later, I thought what a marvellous lady she was.
Judy Garland was the best and she is sorely missed. She really was the greatest entertainer of the 20th Century.
that is so spooky same thing happened to me i was12 and she was live at the london palladium in 1968 she missed her cue and came on late and a bit worse for wear i laughed and got told of by my mother saying that is poor judy garland and she is very sick i felt bad on reading a few months later she passed away she lived a very short bus ride from me too.
I'm so glad this audio exists - it shows that Judy could still sing in the last year of her life. That Juno recording that was around since the 70's was a bad night with throat problems. Wouldn't she love to know that she's still loved?
This audio IS from the London Palladium from January 1969. Garland did fill in last minute for Lena Horne. This is on record as Judy's final television appearance. The video has yet to surface but there is audio of Garland's complete performance. She sang the same material at "The Talk of The Town" in London which ended up being released on LP as "Judy.London.1969" on the Juno label in the early 1970's. Sadly, Judy Garland died only a little over five months after this Palladium appearance.
This performance was part of a TV show called Sunday Night At The London Palladium. Judy replaced Lena Horne, who was ill. This appearance occured on Judy's one night off from The Talk Of The Town.
I didn't know that Judy was at the Palladium in London in 1969. I guess the las time was in 64 with Liza. After that her last great concert was at the Palace again in 67 with Lorna and Joey...but, anyway...sound GRAET, Judy is marvellous and I love her for ever !!!!
sorry but you are wrong this is her last time at the palladium i remember it very well i was 12 at the time and she seemed a bit drunk i laughed and my mother told me off saying she was ill shortly after she was gone ive been a fan ever since
Judy DID sing at the Palladium in 1969...it was her last tv appearance ever. It was a one shot appearance, and she filled in for Lena Horne. She sang with Liza there in 1964, which was also broadcast on TV.
judy sang i belong to london on the 19th of jan 1969 at the london palladium. it was broadcast live on the tv show sunday night at the london palladium. this was her last appearance at the london palladium
I have the 1964 performance on DVD & one of the synopses about it states '"On November 16, 1964, Judy Garland stepped onto the stage of the famed London Palladium for a concert that became historic on two counts -- it marked the first time Garland would share the stage with her daughter Liza Minnelli, and would prove to be Garland's final performance at the venue. The concert was filmed for television,...Mark Deming, All Movie Guide'"
The synopsis that states these two historic counts is wrong on both counts. Judy and Liza appeared together earlier on Judy's TV show, as many of us recall, but in fact Judy would invite Liza onstage with her years before in Las Vegas to sing a bit. Secondly, Judy returned to the Palladium in this clip right here, Feb. '69, which was her last appearance there. Liner notes and brief descriptions are often innacurate, and not necessarily written by people familiar with the topic.
Dont pay too much concern or thought to defundthewars OPINIONS. He like to state them as FACT when infact they are not that at all but just his thoughts or inaccuracies that hes read. He like to think of himself(alot) at the self appointed JUDY "expert", of which he is definately NOT. Let him ramble on and its best to just mostly IGNORE him.
Now that recallection is correct! Music IS from Talk of the Town, Mickey Deans recorded it on a small tape recorder backstage so AJudy could listen to how much the audiance still loved her. also her last performance...the main thing here is, we all still remember Judy.
This particular song was from the TV show Sunday Night At The London Palladium. Judy replaced Lena Horne who was ill. It was filmed on Judy's night off from The Talk Of The Town engagement. In March 1969, Judy headed to Denmark for a short concert tour, with her last performance on March 25, 1969.
Judy was great to the end and this song is more clear on the Juno lp that still is not on cd and finds Judy in soulful form...nobody compares to this great legend!
I thought the Judy. London. 1969. album, except for the part where Judy's voice completely gives out on the Trolley Song, was surprisingly good. The photos provided are terrific, and, I think rare. From a distance, Judy looks fine. In other photos I've seen, you can tell she's starving.
Judy's voice does give out during The Trolley song...if you've ever heard it, all the pain, all the sickness is also errily heard. But what a woman! What a trouper to the end! God Bless you Judy! we miss you!
She certainly is missed. A lot of people are missed-- Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Dino, Ella... the new crop seems to lack that showmanship, that star quality. I could probably think of others...
very interesting. did she purposely forget the british towns? It was hard to tell. Still there is an electricity to her voice that makes Judy Garland the greatest entertainer!
Thank you for submitted this. Always appreciate and enjoy info on Judy -- great talent. This actually sounds somewhat better than the Judy. London. 1969. Album supposedly compiled by Mickey Deans, taped at her Talk of the Town engagement that winter where she also sang this song. That, sadly, was of relatively poor quality but there's always traces of magic in all her work. When she was ill, with all due respect, her performances were uneven but she always somehow came through.
I love Judy... you are the best!!!!

Judy's wit and great sense of fun and humor
allowed her audience to look past any flubs because they knew this petite woman was the greatest entertainer they would ever see.

You are correct. I don't know where someone got this date of 1969. Her last performance at the London Palladium was in November of 1964.

Really ????
Never heard of that before, even in any Judy website...Judy sung at the Sunday Night at the Palladium in 61 ou 63, I'm not sure. But not in 1969.
That audio might be from the Talk of the Town in London, one of last places Judy performe.
The pictures of the video are from 67 Palace concert, and 69 Copenhagen concert.
