One of the creepiest things I've ever seen. Surely a different engine type would have to be used if there's ever to be any practical purpose. The annoying "two stroke" sound is just awful.

The thing corrects itself better then I would have. In the end that guy pushed it with all his strength and he corrected himself. Awesome I love it.

@Mandy7D7 The reason it makes the noise is the, I believe, two stroke motor powering the hydraulics.

if that can function as a bone a musculature it looks to be more efficient (if not as fast) as a pack mule. it takes up less space than the mule, so why not get some soundproof padding on that damn thing and get me a saddle. WOOHOO

Quiet will come later. The big trick is getting a legged roboto of any sort of not only be able to go over rough terrain (rocks, snow, mud), but also to be able to react to external influences (like getting kicked in the side). That's really tricky, and they've done impressively well here. I suspect the next hurdle is making it so it can stand upright again on its own if it does fall over. Then all the cosmetic stuff (like making it NOT sound like an overblown weed whacker :-D)...
