Cool, so we can eat fruit and get all the amino acids we need? That's all well and good except for the fact that fruit doesn't contain the full spectrum of amino acids. Protein synthesis is an all or none process... without the full spectrum of AA's in the body, the body cannot synthesize protein structures such as skeletal muscle.

i only eat nuts that have been soaked and only eat seeds is they can be sprouted(or have a very high sprouting ratio, most beans do not). Soy is horrible for you unless sprouted or fermented(there are numerous clinical trials based supporting this). Following that regiment allows a lot of "conventional" protein in a completely unbalanced, digestible, and uncompromising way. but, what this guy says makes perfect sense. That and gorillas eat mostly foliage, and they are huge.

Our body produces 14 amino acids which 75% which is like 108 g of protein so we would need 42 g which can easily be achieved through fruit and not even vegetables.
All that excess protein will destroy your bones and teeth in the long run and also, most bodybuilders have fat and water(sodium) that make their muscle look bigger. If their mid section is fat then they have fat on their bicep to make them look bigger.

I was rummaging through the CA mountains and there, in the distance, was a blackberry bush. Amino acids are the building blocks of enzymes and proteins, as long as you get the amino acids your body can build any of these it needs. Which is especially easy if your body isnt spending all its time in rest and digest mode and if your eating raw food so these amino acids arent destroyed! Proteins are aminos but protein is more than just that. It's also calories. You NEED calories. The word "calories" is as misunderstood as the words "cholesterol & saturated fat".
If our calorific intake is too low, if it doesn't sustain our Basal metabolic Rate then you're causing more harm than good.
Don't obsess about it. It's only food and for most of us buying it, preparing it & eating it takes up less than 10% of our day. So don't let it take up 100% of your life.

I consider all this concern about muslce MASS in today's society merely fascination. It's really in most cases just for sport and show IMO. A lot of people have muscle mass and are not healthy. Healthy and fit are not the same thing.
Protein can be seen sometimes as slightly different from amino acid. Protein can be amino acids converted into a chain for a specific creature(Rdna) I.E. Beef. When you eat kale, there is no chain, just amino acids so the body doesn't need to convert them, it simply plugs them into our cells and stores it as human muscle dna without need for conversion like animal meat. Animal protein ingestion and conversion takes anywhere from 3-6 hours depending on the amount. Even meat eaters know this.
If anyone doubts the fact that amino acids ARE PRESENT in raw foods they need to reeducate! Read Dr. Norman Walker's books. Extensive biochemical explanations are there to explain this fact! I myself and a registered nurse. I became very sick. For two and half years I deteriorated. Finally after exhausting all other avenues I figured I had nothing to lose. Why not try this raw vegan diet, and juicing. It is a miracle. I started to heal and reverse all the diseases in my body. It works!

By the way, the reason why most bodybuilders notice increases in lean muscle tissue with high protein diets is because they are overtraining and there for need too much protein to over compensate for there overtraining....They would easily put on muscle mass with breif, high intensity weight training under a moderate protein intake protcol.

A fruit enzyme can't be used by our body, it denatures it in the stomach, which is an easy process (I can show you that in a petri dish which a similar acidic environment and some peptidase). I find it very fascinating learning about different successful athletes that are vegans and vegetarians and still perform at the level that they do. The Kenyans notably the worlds best endurance runners consume 75-80% of their calories from carbs and consume only a very small amount of meat. The key to success is finding something you can sustain for a long period of time and stick with what works best for YOU! I have never felt better :)

2. You don't destroy proteins by cooking them. There are minimal amounts of protein in fruit, both before and after potential cooking.
3. Protein is metabolised at a high rate in the body. Protein are broken down and are used to build new proteins in the body. Without sufficient protein in the diet = your bodys own protein are the ones that will be metabolised and broken down (you = Catabolic)
your argument is very clear, you don't get sufficient amounts of protein and therefore you are tiny....yes i'm looking right at you and what i see is someone who clearly doesn't get enough macro-nutrients, just like every every other serious vegan or raw foody. have you ever seen a fat or muscular raw foody? of course not, it's not possible, you won't gain fat or muscle when you are essentially starving yourself.

But it would be detrimental to take what works for his genetics and use it as a blueprint for others health. I was rummaging through the CA mountains and there, in the distance, was a blackberry bush. Amino acids are the building blocks of enzymes and proteins, as long as you get the amino acids your body can build any of these it needs. Which is especially easy if your body isnt spending all its time in rest and digest mode and if your eating raw food so these amino acids arent destroyed! It makes so much sense, thanks for putting it in a different light for me :)

Eating raw vegan food is great. I do it whenever possible. But whatever happened to a balanced diet? THIS GUY IS SO FULL OF SHIT!!! I wonder why so many vegans have protein deficiencies that are only diagnosed through medical testing.
I think eating raw vegetables is great but people need to stop thinking that when it comes to lifestyle, there is a holy grail. Sometimes there is a best way to do something, but wen it comes to nourishing yourself, doing this alone is unnecessary and stupid.

Proteins are aminos but protein is more than just that. It's also calories. You NEED calories. The word "calories" is as misunderstood as the words "cholesterol & saturated fat".
If our calorific intake is too low, if it doesn't sustain our Basal metabolic Rate then you're causing more harm than good.
Don't obsess about it. It's only food and for most of us buying it, preparing it & eating it takes up less than 10% of our day. So don't let it take up 100% of your life.

Protein can be seen sometimes as slightly different from amino acid. Protein can be amino acids converted into a chain for a specific creature(Rdna) I.E. Beef. When you eat kale, there is no chain, just amino acids so the body doesn't need to convert them, it simply plugs them into our cells and stores it as human muscle dna without need for conversion like animal meat. Animal protein ingestion and conversion takes anywhere from 3-6 hours depending on the amount. Even meat eaters know this.

If anyone doubts the fact that amino acids ARE PRESENT in raw foods they need to reeducate! Read Dr. Norman Walker's books. Extensive biochemical explanations are there to explain this fact! I myself and a registered nurse. I became very sick. For two and half years I deteriorated. Finally after exhausting all other avenues I figured I had nothing to lose. Why not try this raw vegan diet, and juicing. It is a miracle. I started to heal and reverse all the diseases in my body. It works!

By the way, the reason why most bodybuilders notice increases in lean muscle tissue with high protein diets is because they are overtraining and there for need too much protein to over compensate for there overtraining....They would easily put on muscle mass with breif, high intensity weight training under a moderate protein intake protcol.

Enzymes are proteins in fact proteins are seen at the microscopic levels in plant and animal cells and every food has enzymes but not all of them have enough to be healthy or fit. Second of all there is no way you can have no body fat, with bod fat you cannot build muscle. Third of all very few people are as fortunate as you to build muscle without working out and just dieting. You need to work out as well the diet is the first step.

I find it very fascinating learning about different successful athletes that are vegans and vegetarians and still perform at the level that they do. The Kenyans notably the worlds best endurance runners consume 75-80% of their calories from carbs and consume only a very small amount of meat. The key to success is finding something you can sustain for a long period of time and stick with what works best for YOU! I have never felt better :)

1. Enzymes = Proteins. Proteins= "Complex chain of amino acids"
2. You don't destroy proteins by cooking them. There are minimal amounts of protein in fruit, both before and after potential cooking.
3. Protein is metabolised at a high rate in the body. Protein are broken down and are used to build new proteins in the body. Without sufficient protein in the diet = your bodys own protein are the ones that will be metabolised and broken down (you = Catabolic)

@holylok Because science is completely based on individual experience and not actual evidence. I, and I'm sure most people who are critical, am completely fine if this man's diet works for him. But it would be detrimental to take what works for his genetics and use it as a blueprint for others health. There are plenty of examples of people who put on muscle easily despite diet and muscle building exercise, just because it works for a few rare individuals doesn't mean it's gospel.

@holylok Hang on a sec. Did anyone bother to notice that he's an ectomorph? A naturally tall and lean guy. Did anyone stop to realise that his base metabolic rate is gonna be at least twice if not faster than an average endomorph?? So you cant sit there and rant on about "this guy has researched n especially experienced" because his experiences are gonna be different to anyone who ISN'T an ectomorph. What he's preaching isn't necessarily gonna work for everyone. You gotta take it into context
