Actually, back in those days, Chicken Nuggets were relatively new to the public. A commercial showing people how to dip them into their variety of sauces made sense in terms of promoting this product during that time. It's funny, back in the 80's, the soft taco wrappers at taco bell actually had eating instructions on them. No kidding. Soft Tacos were a new thing in many parts of the nation and promoting the product meant making people feel comfortable with it.

For a long time, nutrition information in this country wasnt promoted to the public like it is now. The few elementary schools and high schools that had nutrition courses were outnumbered by the ones that didnt. Macdonadls as well as all food businesses took advantage of this lack of informaiton making them partially guilty.
