It is 1 sided to say "Hey Mom" when we all cook. These are not the old times when only women did the cooking. As a mater of fact, I cool better than most women do and am very proud of that fact. I do over 1/2 of the cooking in the house.

It would be better to say: Hey Mom and Dad's (or) Hello everyone.

(or) better yet. Hell All cooks out there.

This way you are talking to everyone not just yourself.
