  • 3:04- I was waiting for the trumpet to turn upside down...

    Still a great performance.

  • If you want to see and hear something Marsalis could not do, watch Maurice Andre play "Hora Staccato" I don't see how a human could do this.

  • Marty Hackleman (French Horn) is now first chair horn in the national symphony in Washington D.C. and it started with canadian brass

  • 0:22 i came. hard.

  • Copy and paste: "BBC Proms / Gustavo Dudamel & SBYOV / Symphonic Dances from Leonard Bernstein's West Side"

  • it´s amazing yeaah, xDD

  • yeesh.

  • that is some ridiculous flexibility

  • Romm has some serious power in this piece.

  • Has anyone heard Al Hirt play this peace. He was the king of the trumpet. Wynton Maralis doesn;t play anywhere near like Al Hirt. Al Hirt was the the best.

  • @joecl246 have to say Allen Vizzuti wins it all. Sorry man.

  • @joecl246 Sorry Man Wynton Marsalis is a very good trumpet player. Were talking VERY good. You can't just say someone was better than him. At his level you can't really get any better. He already on the top.

  • @DannySpandl123 maurice andre is the master of trumpets

  • @Axolo1991 So Your telling me Wynton Marsalis being givin the same music he couldn't play it like Maurice Andre?

  • has anyone ever heard of Wynton Marsalis??? i mean cmon people. watch him do this exact song.....its AMAZING

  • 2:55 is one of the most amazing things i have heard a trumpet player or any musician do in a very long time.

  • well done and glad to see my friend marty

    thank you for the post

  • He is a GOD

  • Allen Vizzutti plays with cleaner technique, especially the 32nd note runs. I don't think anyone out there plays cleaner, but what a big sound Mills has.

I think he is playing on a much larger bore mouthpiece than Allen, I would venture to say it sounds like a 1C or 2B Bach.???

What a beautiful rich sound...! Reminds me of Doc Severinsen and the Great Al Hirt. (RIP).

  • The original is the best. Grande Ronald!

  • there is a combo which is better.

    Mnozil Brass

  • @Kittoras Haha, not really.... they maybe can carry their Instruments

  • @VioletFirm

Did you ever see Mnozil Brass?

  • @Kittoras Of course, several times, and they are miles away from the old original Canadian Brass....and, in general, Mnozil Brass plays a different style of music, you cant compare...this is not the same music

  • LMAO thats some of the fastest tounging ive heard on any instrument XD.

  • I <3 Martin Hackleman!

  • mu y bien

  • Awesome!

  • Ronald Romm is absoluttely incredible. He makes so easy something so difficult. One of the best i´ve heard in my life.

  • my favorite ensemble!

  • I always thought that a brass player with thick beard is amusing. You don't see his lips movement, so you think he has very strong and non-moving embourcher. I think the orginal Canadian Brass has some kinds of distinguishing features that no other brass quintet or emsemble has. They have very unique style in brass playing, and their joyful music is one of a kind.

  • @wynton5364 Pretty good stuff!! I bet this arrangement caused many a player to lay their instruments down for the last time.

  • Lindos agúdos! Maravilhoso!

  • simply the best, thanks !

  • because most musicians never look outside the box. THese guys are fucking amazing. every single one of them have talents that are undiscribable. I feel sorry for any musician that never gets the chance to hear or see these guys. Peter knabaucjh you are my hero....

  • The Canadian Brass is playing in my city on the 12 of next month. Cant wait. heard them before; Love them more each time.

  • The Canadian Brass has been around since 1970 and have published countless CDs. For more virtuoso trumpet playing check out "Tine Thing Helseth" she's a Norwegian musician and is very accomplished. When you find her you'll be led to Alison Balsom, a young British trumpet player, also very good. That Norwegian name is pronounced "Tin eh Ting Helseth."

  • I'm curious why these guys aren't more well known...I've been a trumpet player all my life and never come across a performance quite that stunning. That was perhaps superior to the alan vizuti version... I also do a little Euphonium and French horn, and these men blow me and all of my colleagues out of the water...

@schulzy5 I am very, very jealous...

  • nice

  • Such a beast!

  • I love brass quintets

  • I had the chance to play with Ronald Romm about 7 years ago. I also took trumpet lessons from his colleague, the late Michael Ewald. Both fantastic players and flawless.

  • mera chimba que gonorrea tan bueno

  • god DAMN WHAT A FREAKIN TRUMPET PLAYER!!!! DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahhh!!! the original canadian brass....not the yamaha crony copies...

but...Mills, Romm, Watts, Daellenbach...it doesn't get much better than that. This is BEAUTIFUL. : )

  • hey man this is veri impresionante uffffffff

  • what i REALLY want is slurring skills like at the very beginning. That was the most impressive part to me!

  • That is absolute mastery of the instrument. Very impressive.

  • @ProKzaine u kno i thought the exact same thing when i heard it lol

    ...

i got my mouthpiece and started slurs

  • very god solo on TUBA :D

  • He messes up @ 1:47...not that I care, its just cool that it shows he's human too lol

  • not only that, but he serves a good example to most musicians who make it obvious when they mess up by making faces haha

  • Very true

  • Nice catch.

  • to be honest he plays it better and he sounds better than allen vizzunti

  • wow!!!!

  • i think doc severinsen owns this tune, as much as i hate to say

  • fabuloso

  • I just auditioned in front of Ronald Romm a couple weeks ago. He teaches trumpet at the U of Illinois-Champaign. I really hope I get in so I can get lessons from him it wuld just be so awesome.

  • I take piano lessons from his wife!!! They are both great!

  • does anybody know where to find this arrangement?

  • Allen Vizzutti is definetly the king of this version of the carnival of venice!

  • That's right!

  • you guys do not understand that this was made before allen played it so the quality is definetely not going be as good

  • I'm a fan of Roger Bobo's

  • si no sabes, quedate callado pendejo!!!!!

  • y vos tambien

  • Oops, Vizzutti*

  • sounds like the one allen vizzutti played

  • you're right. Idk who played it first, but this is the exact version that vizutti played. just not as good ;)

  • It's the Del Staiger verson of Carnival of Venice... Well this recording is way before the recording of Allen Vizzutti on youtube...

Personally I like Doc Serverinsen's recording the best...

  • Al Vizzutti is too much of a freak for me lol. I'd like to hear his lip exercises

  • very true allen's is SOOO much cleaner then this one.

  • sencillamente,maravilloso...
