DEDE MED, Is there a recipe that have cubed potatoes, cumin seeds, onion powder and ginger (minced) in it? I recall someone bringing this dish to the annual International Festival...I can not recall from which country the dish represented, but it was INCREDIBLE! Could it be Assyrian, Labanese, Indian????? If you know, PLEASE share this recipe on your site, THANK YOU!
@Eseercam that sounds like something that may be Indian, unfortunately I'm not familiar with it :) But I would suggest you give this one a try, I think you'll like it :)
I prepared these with some steak for the wife on our anniversary and I just wanted say thank you so much for posting this.....These were the best potatoes I've ever eaten. These will be a special treat around my house from now on. Thanks!
Wow that is amazing! Here in French-Canada (Quebec) we're big on plain boiled potatoes... this would make a nice side dish to achieve with leftover potatoes the following day :)
hey, thanks for this recipe. have tasted this dish before but never really knew how it was made. can't wait to try. fyi for the future, just thought you might want to know that the type of potato you were speaking about (the red-skinned one) is a 'russet' potato (not rustic). also liked the chicken tawook, which i did make. keep up the good work.
Hey Dede, Long time fan here. You're always making the foods I eat all the time. Missing all my favorite foods and can't wait to go back to middle east in two weeks.
awesome channel & site! I'm travelling the Mediterranean for the next 3 months, and am right now in Turkey. @healthyvegan have a wonderful trip! i'm so glad that you like my recipes. Yes, definitely check out my site, you will find a lot of dishes that you discover while traveling on my site :)
instead of cilantro could i use any veg, like small heads of brocoli or cabbage or anything like that? does it have to be cilantro, and the spices would ras el hanout do? or any other spice?
@dedemed thank you for taking yime out to reply to my comment, one more question, can i replace cilantro with corriander or cabbage? or any recomendations

@thasnaps oh cilantro is corriander duh! if you were to use cabbage would you boil or steam the cabbage before you pan fry them with garlic? hmm......

Mmmmmmm, I love garlic too- probably more then my clients do, hehe! Great recipe. I often slice potatoes and peppers into "french fry" sizes, add some rounds (1/2 inch) of zucchini, chopped onions and mushrooms (cut into 1/4), and whatever else looks good in the fridge, add some olive oil, soy sauce and herbs in a big bowl. Then I toss and cook in oven until just right. Is great served with just about anything! Even Catsup (for my 5 y/o daughter) :) . Peace&Love!
wow dd honestly i'm 14 years old and i'm not much into cooking but once i saw your videos i started to become inspiered...thank you...i started cooking because of you!
